I'm sorry. I've been here for about six months now.

I won't lie to you, Wing. This planet has its challenges. The only civilization anywhere is what we have right here, hence Haven's name. The rest of the world, from what I understand, is an undeveloped wasteland. Materials aren't plentiful. If you don't already run on energon, you'll need to have your engine converted, because there's no gasoline or anything of the like here. Food sources for the organics can potentially become tenuous, though thankfully things have been put into place to help stave off too many problems.
The main thing, though, is that there is a . . . I don't know if you believe in deities, but there is a being called Unicron who is apparently trying to halt and destroy everything we have here. He wants the planet for himself. He has a foothold in an area of the wastelands called the Badlands, and from what I understand, it's an evil place. The Glyphs we wear - [He turns so you can clearly see his shoulder, a vivid white Glyph with a faint gold outline.] - keep us from being affected by the Badlands, drawn to them and driven violently insane by their evil. But . . . Unicron is able to reach us and affect us here too, in other ways, though items and structures he can drop from the Lambda or otherwise cause to appear. They can affect our bodies and minds. Thankfully, the effects seem to be temporary when they happen at all. And not everyone is always affected, so they're able to help those who are get through things until the effects wear off.
But . . . all of that said . . . I can't say that, especially in the day-to-day things, this place isn't all that bad. I miss my home, my partner, my...family - [There's a little, almost sheepish grin at that.] - my teammates who aren't here. Sometimes I miss the predictability of my job and the kinds of cases my team and I handled. I worry about them. But . . . the people here . . . this is a good place, in that respect. There are, of course, a few people I'd handle with some care for one reason or another, but overall, it's a good little community. I've seen everyone pull together when needed. I've met all kinds of people I'd never have imagined back home. Many of them are friends now, and I'm grateful for that.
We have our trials and our dangers, but there's good here too if you're willing to be open to seeing it.

Thank you, officer. Every place hase its challenges, but I've always tried to find the best in situations. Just being here is a second chance for me in more ways than one. Cybertron was my home many, many years ago, I'm looking forward to seeing what comes of this place.
