End Game Part Five: The Traitor

While his brethren are out, seeking to destroy the dual incursions of Demons and Unicron...

Liege has waited, patiently.

His goals have always differed from those of the other thirteen, and now that they are distracted he can put forth a bid for his true desire: Control of the Lambda.

He appears on the network standing on a snow-capped balcony, shadowed by the near-perpetual darkness of his frigid towers.

"Listen, and listen well. To fight is hopeless. We have no guarantee of Primus's return, and we have even less guarantee that we can hold our own against this dual-sided assault. There is another way."

From the top of his tower, Liege raises his arm...and the snow-clouds above him disperse, whipping small flakes across the scene as the Lambda looms--green and ominous in a star-filled sky.

"I have broached a contract with the chaos-bringer. If we allow him into this universe, access to all other universes will be granted to us. Our horizons will be limitless. Put down your arms and rally to me...if you want to explore, or learn, or simply want to return home."

Behind him, a separate portal opens--brilliant and green just like the Lambda.

"Together, we can stop Prima and Vector, and gain something more worthwhile than this useless chunk of rock we have tried to call home. I will be waiting."

[[Those who wish to rally with Liege may come to his temple. Although fighting is not required for this path, he and Unicron will look favorably upon any who proceed through the small tear behind him to help repel Prima and Vector and their forces from the Maw. Those who do will find the gravity of the Lambda working for them--while you won't be able to fly, you will be able to move through the space around the Lambda with ease, re-orienting yourself as you see fit.]]

You know, I didn't think that a Prime could fall that low in life. Guess I was wrong.

They are your brothers.
primest: (smdh)

the private of privatest texts omg!!

[personal profile] primest 2014-08-02 05:49 pm (UTC)(link)
You were talking sense right up until the "I made a contract with the giant planet eating god of evil" part.
Do you even have any guarantee that when he has what he wants he won't just destroy you and anyone who "sided" with him to tie up loose ends?
knight_light: [smile] (Wing - serious glower)

[personal profile] knight_light 2014-08-02 06:32 pm (UTC)(link)
[Wing scowls at the camera] I would rather fight this evil than submit to it. You've taken the coward's course.
neverputincharge: (Annoying scrap brain)

[personal profile] neverputincharge 2014-08-02 06:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Unicron's been defeated before. On many worlds, twice on mine alone.

If you think this is hopeless, then you're not a great Prime, you're a coward.

A Prime would never give up and betray his allies!

I always knew you were a creepy bastard! Now I know why.

Thanks but no thanks, asshole. I'm standing with my friends, whatever the odds.
dinnerdate: (ooohhh that's what you meant)

[personal profile] dinnerdate 2014-08-02 08:19 pm (UTC)(link)
So... we.

We wouldn't get killed, right?
originaldragoon: (Hey!)

[personal profile] originaldragoon 2014-08-02 08:32 pm (UTC)(link)
You did what!?

[Suddenly she is very glad she decided to stay with Vector Prime instead of following the First Forge she was originally aligned to.]

Coward! You would rather betray your brothers and roll over like a dog for that thing instead of fight against it? I bet you do not even have a guarantee that Unicron won't turn against you when he is done here!

[personal profile] aerospacecommander 2014-08-02 08:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, now this sounds like fun.

[You guys didn't expect Starscream to not consider this right?]
glass_secret: (Do you want to lose that hand?)

[personal profile] glass_secret 2014-08-02 08:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Right, because a guy with the title of "Chaos Bringer" sounds sooo trustworthy.

Sorry asshole, but I'm taking my chances with the rest of the First Forged.
angleofscience: (shadowed - ugh)

[personal profile] angleofscience 2014-08-02 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
[Starscream, no. He's just going to rub his chin.]

Starscream. Please. [He can't decide whether he's exasperated or frustrated or unhappy.]

If this entity is exactly what's been claimed, why would you put any trust in that the promise will be fulfilled?
neverputincharge: (You can't be serious)

[personal profile] neverputincharge 2014-08-02 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)
dinnerdate: (ooohhh that's what you meant)

[personal profile] dinnerdate 2014-08-02 11:34 pm (UTC)(link)

[Caught with a hand in the cookie jar. What does he do now?]

Not dying sounds really good right now, doesn't it?
neverputincharge: (Before I was a wrecker...)

[personal profile] neverputincharge 2014-08-03 02:14 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. But this is Unicron, the destroyer of worlds.
dinnerdate: (ooohhh that's what you meant)

[personal profile] dinnerdate 2014-08-03 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
Who we can't beat... It's a better chance at living through this, isn't it?
neverputincharge: (Before I was a wrecker...)

[personal profile] neverputincharge 2014-08-03 03:35 am (UTC)(link)
How do you know he can't be beat? I've fought against him twice. I can guarantee he was beat both times.

How do ya know Unicron won't just turn around and kill you after all this is over?
dinnerdate: (one of those days. again)

[personal profile] dinnerdate 2014-08-03 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
Have you ever fought him like this before?

I don't, but there's a better chance. Maybe. Or I'll just die either way.
neverputincharge: (Default)

[personal profile] neverputincharge 2014-08-03 04:27 am (UTC)(link)
Close, some of those stone versions of him got pretty fraggin' big. That was while he was threatening to destroy a world. Namely Earth, the plant that was formed around his body.

So, you're just givin' up? What abot helpin' to find a way to stop him. You would't be fightin' alone you know.
dinnerdate: (ooohhh that's what you meant)

[personal profile] dinnerdate 2014-08-03 05:04 am (UTC)(link)
How did you beat him?

There's nothing else I can do... You want me to fight?
neverputincharge: (Respectfully talking)

[personal profile] neverputincharge 2014-08-03 05:18 am (UTC)(link)
Optimus used the Matrix of Leadership on his spark, to put him back in stasis. Which worked and saved the planet.

Can you fight?
dinnerdate: (ooohhh that's what you meant)

[personal profile] dinnerdate 2014-08-03 05:32 am (UTC)(link)
...Well that's not going to work.

[Bulkhead those swords strapped to his back aren't just decoration.]

Are you going to shoot me?
neverputincharge: (Annoying scrap brain)

[personal profile] neverputincharge 2014-08-03 06:21 am (UTC)(link)
.....yeah, I know that. No Optimus here. Don't think there's even a matrix here.

[He's starting to wonder if they are just decoration, considering he's never really seen him actually use them.]

Then you should be out with the rest of us fightin'. Unless you have swords for decoration.

aerospacecommander: (starscream 98)

[personal profile] aerospacecommander 2014-08-03 08:04 am (UTC)(link)
Oh come on, Jetfire. Aren't you at least slightly curious?
dinnerdate: (ooohhh that's what you meant)

[personal profile] dinnerdate 2014-08-03 09:22 am (UTC)(link)
How are we not doomed then?

[Alright, that's a good point. He's maybe pulled out his swords to use twice since he'd been in this place.]

No, I can use them... But isn't it just easier to not fight? I don't really like Unicron, I mean the diet change was enough for me. But if siding with him means not dying, it sounds pretty nice.

...My teammates always shoot me when they want me to fight.
angleofscience: (inquisitive - how much data?)

[personal profile] angleofscience 2014-08-03 10:49 am (UTC)(link)
... [Okay, yes, he is, so he'll just give another sigh as he glances away and then back to Starscream.]

Naturally. [There's no way to deny that, really.] But I am not convinced allying with an entity that has, allegedly, been behind as much damage here as it has, and now wants to destroy this planet is in any way a good idea, or indicates any sort of... ah, occupational security.

[Starscream don't let your greed overshadow your common sense, now.]
nobirds: (solitary.)

[personal profile] nobirds 2014-08-03 08:32 pm (UTC)(link)
I liked you. I really did.

[ Her voice is chilling and cold, as well as likely to cut out any moment the way it sounds. ]

While I'm all for survival, you're an idi---eeeee--ot. There is no surviving this. You knew that, day one. If you didn't, you wouldnnnnnnnnnnnn't have left.

You should've stayed gone. A----AHHLL of you.

At least that way you would've lived. Congr-phhhhzzzt---atulations. I think the smelly, disgus--aaaahhhp----ting human shaped ones have more sense than you do. At least the human shaped ones go down with a fi---bzz--ght.
