[Video - Liege's Quadrant]

[There were some things that just weren't pleasant to wake up to and robotic beings were one of them.

Mordin was already a bit disoriented as it was, considering he was fairly certain he had died and yet here he was on some strange planet alive, so seeing the acolyte had been a bit of a....well, he'd reacted a bit badly. There had been enough of a pause on the scientist's part that a few things had been said, something about temple and alignments and Haven, but once Mordin had gotten over the initial 'what the hell is going on', his weapon had been drawn and the acolyte was disabled.

He'd made his way out of the temple as quickly as possible and ended up outside of the temple, looking out over the landscape with a contemplative look.

Definitely not like anything he'd ever seen.

Remembering what the acolyte had said about his communication device, Mordin activated it, not really focusing on it though.

There was too much to study and ponder about at the moment.]

Not sure what this is or where I am. Strange place. Unlike any planet I've ever seen before. Curious. Robotic creatures similar in ways to geth and the reapers but vastly different at the same time, as scans have shown. Would like to know more.

But more pressing matters at hand.

[The scientist paused, taking a breath before looking at the camera.]

Normandy, please come in. Need transport immediately.

[It was worth a shot right?]

[No this is not ok. First Shepard picks up a Geth, that he could at least sort of deal with. That was weird enough. But now you're telling him a smart ass salarian managed to get on board with the Normandy crew? No, fuck this, no no no. That is NOT ok, Shepard.]

Looks like Shepard didn't waste time picking up a circus.

Lemme guess, you're rooming with a volus warrior and a heretic drell.

[Well they were both dead, it made sense. They were also both in hell apparently. That also made sense.]

It's good to see you. Do you have a visual on a rendezvous point?

[Shepard was crouched down behind a building, looking cautiously out toward the main path. This was going to be interesting.]

Wrex. Always a pleasure.

[Except when it's not. At least it's a familiar face and that's something at least.

Still doesn't answer how he's alive.]

Was on Tuchanka. No idea where this planet is. Have had contact with the Normandy?

[The fact that Shepard was here really..did nothing to change Mordin's mind that he was, in fact, dead. Though the appearance of Wrex made things confusing.]

Not certain of area just yet. Minimal scans, haven't traveled much yet. Woke up inside this temple with a robotic being. Took care of the being and found my way here. Could trace your location? Or you mine?

Same. Shot it in the face and ran pretty much as soon as I could find my gun. I don't think it's down yet, though.

[Not that she had intended to shoot it. She had panicked because, well, synthetic looking over her that looked like the human reaper. How was she supposed to react?]

[Sure, Mordin could take care of himself, but he was old and she had seen him die. She was going to do everything she could to keep him safe here.]

[Surreal is an understatement here. Prejudice and anger give way to confusion.]

Something called Cybertron. If you want a way off this planet you're out of luck. No relays, no Normandys, nothing.

Salarians haven't stepped on Tuchanka in years.

Cybertron. Interesting.

[He definitely wanted to explore this place a bit more. The bit about no relays and no Normandy was off-putting though. Almost as off-putting as not knowing how he got here.]

Incorrect. Reapers attacked Tuchanka. Brought Eve to planet. Cured Genophage. Remember tower exploding and then woke up here.

We're stuck on the planet, Mordin. No relays, no space ports, no shuttles. Place is barely a colony as it is, and not too carefully catered to organics.

[Oh hi Mordin. Here's Garrus, bringing you some good 'ol fashioned cynicism with a turian smile. Well, at least he doesn't seem too worried going by the tone of voice. Also, he's still wearing his damaged armor from the Suicide Mission.]

The natives call themselves Cybertronians. Much more similar to us than geth and Reapers are, if you ignore the size. Most of them seem friendly.

[Studying the other, Mordin notes the little things here and there that make it obvious that something is...off. He's getting the same feeling that he's been developing the more he speaks with Wrex.]

Stuck? Seems unlikely. Difficult to leave perhaps but not stuck. There's always a way.

[Lifting a hand to cradle his chin a bit, the salarian shakes his head a bit, clearly thinking something over.]

What is the last thing you recall? From the Normandy. Do you remember the reaper attack on Earth? On Tuchanka?

...don't kid around with that stuff. Don't tell me a salarian cured the genophage with a straight face.

No reason to kid. Cured the genophage. It was a mistake, realize that now. Because of Eve. Wanted to make things right. Shepard can verify.

[There's a disconcerted pause as he lets Mordin finish his sentence. Yes, there actually was a chance for them to leave after he had discovered the remains of the turian ship. But.. it had disappeared after he, Wrex, and some others emptied it of supplies. Not exactly a win to one's confidence.]

[The news that the Reapers were attacking caused his heart to sink. While he was here, is that what was happening on the outside? His mandibles relax slightly from their tightly clamped position as he responds.]

We just finished taking care of the Collector Base. The Reapers haven't arrived yet.

[Yeah, that's visible surprise you're seeing on Mordin's face there, Garrus.]

The Collector...no no no, that's not right. Already did that. Made it out safely. Shepard was detained for six months. Reapers came into the system. Planet after planet fell.

[Wrex feels torn. Does he want to believe it? He wants to...but it's a salarian. They lied to his people before.]

That'd be great if Shepard was here.

Not my fault she has not contacted you. On her way here. Waiting for her to arrive.

[There's a puzzled pause, mandibles twitching just slightly as Mordin explains. His voice is solemn:]

There's got to be something that the Lambda is messing with here. Got to be. I don't remember any of that.

...You sound smart.

I can't say I've heard of anyone called Normandy, though...

[A puzzled sound escapes Mordin as he lifts a hand, tapping his fingers against his mouth slightly, clearly doing some quick thinking on the matter.]

Multiple timestreams. Possible but potentially dangerous. Wrex doesn't recognize me which adds to the evidence.

[His hand lowers, the salarian focusing on Garrus again.]

Waiting for Shepard to come to my location. Should join us. Wrex too if we can convince him. Figure out what is going on exactly.

Intelligence necessary when scientist. One of the best. Geneticist, doctor, special ops, agent. Need to be smart, so I am.

[Mordin gives Kay a curious look.]

Normandy not a person but a ship. Part of the crew. Need to get in touch with them.

[He almost sighs but refrains, giving the other a bit of a dry look instead.]

Commander Shepard. Joker. Garrus Vakarian. EDI. Tali'Zorah nar Rayya. Jacob. Taylor. Miranda Lawson. There are many individuals on board.

[Garrus watches Mordin do his thing, finding the scientist's mannerisms rather comforting in their familiarity.]

[Because seriously, when you're trying to wrap your brain around this stuff on a world rather unsuited for organic life. Just. It's just nice to see him back.]

Give me your coordinates and I'll meet you there. May take a little while though - this place is pretty big.

Oh! Oh! I know Mr. Garrus!

[She bounces up and down excitedly.]

He's really nice!

[Mordin gives a short nod and transfers over the coordinates asked for, getting distracted by something out of view of the camera.]

Hm. Yes, yes be careful. Large place. Large beings. See you shortly--

[And then he's moving the camera lowered as the scientist clearly finds something close by worth investigating.]

Good soldier. Good..friend. Yes. Another here as well. Wrex. Wasn't apart of crew when I joined though. Not certain he's all that friendly right now anyway. Time differences.

Your kind tricked ours before, I'm not planning on repeating history.

Oh! I know Mr. Wrex too. He's tough on the outside, but I think he's got a soft gooshy center.

And I don't mean his insides.

Understandable. Expected this sort of reaction considering you don't remember anything that happened.

Fish? Hardly a fish. Amphibious lifeform. Very different. Warm blooded. Do not require long lengths spent in water. Have lungs, not gills.

[It wouldn't be the first time he'd been asked that question though.]

Yes. Study multiple things. Genetics are a particular favorite. Design and study many things though, whatever is needed. What I do. Short lifespan requires absorbing as much data as possible. Fly? Only on Normandy or other ships.

Wow, you're going to fit in just fine here. There's a lot of sciency guys to talk with!
