video || Trion's Lake

[Here we have the police bird in his natural habitat. Standing by the lake in Alpha Trion's sector. He looks rather pensive and generally more upset than he usually does.]

I --

[And before he can explain himself, he catches sight of his reflection in the lake. Scrawled on the panes of his left wing are the words "SPACE FOR RENT". On the other wing, in equally bold, obnoxious writing is "APRIL FOOLS".]

[He stares. And then drops the Link in an effort to scrub the writing off with his bare hands, twisting around into a veritable knot of unhappy ninja robot.]

[Unfortunately, all this does is give the viewer a good view of the back side of each wing, on which is written ""POWER JOE WAS HERE :D". One word per wing pane.]

[And it's then, in a fit of avian frustration, Kagerou has the most mature response to life there ever was. He lifts the nearest heavy rock and throws it, as hard as he can, shouting:]

I hate this place!

[Luckily for you, Melan wouldn't recognize a joke even if it hits him on the face, and you get a sightly worried Knight.]

Kagerou? Are you alright? Were you under attack? Is Kay safe?

Who is Power Joe?

She's fine. I'm...

[Wait what? He still can't see the writing on the other side of his wings.]

Why are you asking about him...?

She is fine? That's good to know.

It's written on your wings. "Power Joe was here" plus a combinaison of symbol I am currently unable to translate. You know him?

Kagerou--

[Oh this doesn't bode well at all.]

Do you need assistance? I can be there shortly. I'm at my office right now.

Yes. Unless she's been doing something I'm not aware of.

[He pauses.]

... He did this? Is that what that means?

[He's pretty much tried to reach them by any means necessary at this point, but he can't... reach his hands back enough.]

Yes.

This--

[He would be more articulate than this, but. People are lost, things are falling apart, and now this.]

I need to... do something.

[Translation: "Yes, help."]

Just..calm down, Kagerou. It's going to be alright.

[His tone is soothing, wanting to try and get the other to relax before he becomes even more frustrated or upset about this incident.

Rung's already making his way out of his office as he says it though, doing a quick scan before locking onto the other's location and heading in that direction.]

It's stupid. He's an irritating thing and I...

[HUFF.]

[Right. Calm down. He makes a visible effort to shove those angry words aside, and school his expression, at the very least.]

Power Joe I'm assuming?

[Judging by the scrawl on Kagerou's back, Rung would assume that's who the other is talking about at least.

He reaches the other and immediately shuts his comm off, reaching out to touch the other's arm as his worried look increases.]

Kneel down and let me see if I can help you get it off.

Yes.

[He's standing at the edge of the lake, his hands balled into fists, and doing his best to seem calm, even though he'd like nothing more than to be angry. Upset. Childishly unhappy.]

[But..]

[His expression, at least, is flat and neutral when the Autobot arrives, and he does as asked, shoulders and wings gone tense.]

What is... April Fools.

I'm..honestly not completely sure. I'm not too familiar with Earth customs, which is what I think this might be.

[There was something in the back of his mind, a small little piece of information that he had heard or read somewhere once but, at the time, it hadn't seemed important.

He looks over the other's wings, frowning some before it softens out as he notices how tense Kagerou is. His hand comes to rest on the other's shoulder, giving it a gentle squeeze.]

It's alright though. This should come off easy enough.

... It would be.

[It would be something like that, wouldn't it? Something he'd never heard of. Something he didn't know to prepare for... something the others all knew about but he was the odd one out, and--]

[Those thoughts were going somewhere dark and bitter, very fast. This little prank has been the last straw in a long series of unfortunate events. But the hand on his shoulder yanks him back.]

If it doesn't... I'm going to dump him in the lake.

[He says it so flatly, it's almost mechanical.]

I suppose that would be an appropriate way to get him back. Just..so long as you aren't going to hurt him after you dump him in the lake.

[Because he can tell that the other is really upset over this, that it's not just a light frustration.

And he's immediately wanting to coax the other to talk because of it.]

Turn towards the lake for me.

[Rung's voice is soft again as he asks, gently nudging the other's shoulder to get him to turn, needing water to attempt this cleaning procedure.]

Huh. Must be one of those reality shows.

Wonder who the poor sucker is...

I can hear you.

The lake will do enough.

[Says the robot who's still a little afraid of water.]

[The tension in him doesn't change. He just does as he's asked, still hunched, still seething internally. And still... doing his best to hide it.]

Better?

...huh?

This must be like Videodrome. Are you gonna turn into Debbie Harry?

Yes. Thank you, Kagerou.

[Kneeling down to scoop some water up, Rung manages to get enough of it on the other's wing and begins to scrub at it slightly, optics dimming to a concentrated sort of look as he works.]

...I feel as though this is not the only thing this Power Joe has done to you...did you want to talk about it?

I...

What? I don't understand.

[He sits up straighter, abruptly, the second the Autobot's hands touch his wing. Dimly, it occurs to him that... no one has done this. Not since the facility. Not since--]

[And with that realization, he unconsciously starts to relax. Physically, anyway.]

... he hasn't done anything. He's just been annoying.

Until now.

[It's been other things. This is the final straw. He wants to scream and throw more rocks, but what good is that going to do?]

So he used this 'April Fools' to do something beyond just being annoying then.

[He's clarifying more than anything really, continuing his work on the other's wing--noticing the way the other relaxes a bit as well, which he takes as a good sign.]

And you know him from your home world, yes?
