This is Captain Nathaniel Renko, Spartan platoon of the Titan Corps of North America. Though I'm guessing there's no one here that knows of either of those... [~~Or he wouldn't be using his real name.~~ But who knows, maybe there's someone around here that remembers Spartan-21 or Titan-1 Actual, or heavens forbid, his name. Without understanding the former connotations of his name in his timeline, hopefully.]

So I've heard that I was dropped through some kind of rift and I'm on another planet. And apparently there are sentient giant robots. Which I guess makes my next question... what's it like where you're from originally?

[If he seems less bothered about the whole "temporal-spacial displacement" thing than others might be, it's because he is. For you, this might be life-changing and incredibly traumatizing, but for him it is Tuesday.]

Pirates also get scurvy, which isn't cool. And have you been on a ship with the same twenty people for several months without end? It gets really dull.

How can you know all this stuff if you aren't a pirate? Unless... are you some kinda secret pirate?!

We learned about pirates in school. And you can be stuck on boat for several months without being a pirate, you know.

[It was the only way to get to the East Coast of the former US, this is not his fault. Entirely.]

I've not met another claiming your status, so either you are indeed the only one or your comrades are shy. Not that I blame them.

Where we come from is all rather messy and one giant history lesson.

The Titan Corps didn't really exist until after Chancellor Demichev died and the fighting started. It's still a pretty new thing...

Oh God, what year was that... I think the Chancellor was assassinated in 2010... Commander Devlin started up the Corps in about 2011.

And how many thirty-six year old bears do you know? If you've actually met one, we'll talk, but until then I wanna be thirty-six.

So then, Mr. Future, did they invent the jetpack yet? Or the hoverboard? How strong is the power of love?

You don't know much about this whole aging thing, do you?

... to be honest, the future I come from is kind of terrible. Jetpacks and hoverboards were shelved a while back.

The future where you're from might be a lot nicer though.

Definitely not lazy people. Just ones really caught up in just surviving right now.

I bet they'd survive a lot easier if they had jetpacks~

It's a lot easier for your enemies to spot you when you're in the air, though. And to shoot you down.

I hope you do get the jetpacks. They'd be pretty cool.
