[McCrane, currently, sounds much more flustered than he has in past broadcasts. Granted, 'much more flustered' for him doesn't amount to more than a slight urgency in his voice, but considering both Gunmax and Drift have just collapsed he feels a need to be urgent.]

This is McCrane.

We have two men in need of repairs, and we are unable to ferry them to one of the temples.

[This is guilt. Gunmax, he knows, is down because of fuel, and both he and Deckerd are too low themselves to tow him anywhere. To illustrate the severity of the situation, he points his badge toward where the motorcycle detective is lying, optics flickering even as he insists to a very-worried Deckerd that he's perfectly okay. Beyond, Drift is lying in a puddle of his own rust, not obviously injured but not moving, optics offline.]

Ratchet? Knockout? Is there anyone available with mechanical expertise?

[Deckerd winces and places a hand on Drift's helm.]

Take it easy. Wing is coming for you. We'll get you fixed up.

[He nods like he knows something Drift doesn't. Which he totally thinks he does.]

[He says nothing more on blame. He'd rather on waste your strength arguing about it. He'll just quietly still field that to himself.]

[He doesn't want Wing to see him like this. Their reunion had gone badly enough without adding 'writhing in pain!Drift' to it.]

Tell him I'm fine. [He mumbles as the hand brushes his helm.]

Because I am. Fine. [You're convinced, right?]

[Deckerd smiles fondly. You're a lot like Gunmax.]

He's already been called.

[You don't understand, Deckerd. This is terrible. This is beyond terrible. Wing can't see Drift like this. He'll never let Drift go into combat again. Ever.]

Please. [He tries to grab some part of Deckerd, anything he can wrap a hand around. Unfortunately, he's about as strong as a kitten right now so some of the effect is a bit diminished.] You have to hide me.

[Deckerd stops and crouches again, gently moving Drift's hand away and patting him.]

It's alright. I'm sure he'll find you no less attractive. He obviously cares deeply for you.

[Oh yes. That's the impression Deckerd got. He just stands up and walks away after dropping that bomb of misinterpretation.]
