Good news! I've managed to make progress in several projects I've been working on recently, and they may prove of some use to the populace.

For starters... there was a personal defense weapon for a specific individual...

Secondly... In response to the ah... issue at hand, that involving those without Glyphs, I may be able to offer a temporary solution to any sudden bouts of destructive mania.

[He holds up what appear to be a perfectly normal pair of... handcuffs. Cybertronian style, but still.]

Temporary. The effect I've designed won't last terribly long, but. It's a start.

[Ambulon quickly retreats outside, lingering near the temple's entrance. He kept a keen look-out, however, not only for Perceptor but certain undesirables as well. Nonetheless, it didn't take long before he spotted the tank, and hailed it over with a beckoning wave of his hand.]

[It's not long before Perceptor rolls up. He's nothing, if not prompt. And huge. Definitely huge. He doesn't waste time, transforming as soon as his treads grind to a halt, and approaching the medic.]

Here. Do let me know if I need to make any adjustments.

[He holds out what appears to be, for his world, a perfectly normal blaster -- not too large, not too small. It's sole distinguishing feature is, oddly enough, a large dish attached to the barrel.]

[Ambulon eyed the weapon; had to admit it was interesting. He stopped to look up at Perceptor.] Before I try it out, maybe you want to explain what does what and show me for yourself? It's not that I don't trust you, it's just I'd rather know everything so I don't mess it up and end up falling on my aft.

Ah, yes, of course.

The dish is meant to focus the field away from yourself. Toward the vicinity of the assailant. Granted, it's rather nonspecific, directionally speaking, but I was pressed for time. With further testing, I could likely manage to turn the field into a sort of beam which ...

[He trails off, then shakes his head.]

Right. Simply pull the trigger, and the weapon with activate. At the moment, the charge only holds for two shots -- one for each power cell in the main chamber. In terms of recoil, it should be fairly minimal, nothing more than you'd expect with a common firearm of this size.

[He's perfectly happy to keep on talking, if asked.]

[Ambulon's nodding, taking everything in, his face serious. Cataloged everything in his memory banks. He looks up a moment later.] The power cell - can it be recharged? I don't plan on using this anytime soon, I hope. And I sincerely hope I never will. [Sorry, Perceptor, he doesn't mean to offend.] But... two shots. That's fine. [One extra in case he misses. Sweet.] Thank you, Perceptor, this means a lot. I'm sorry if you had to take time away from more serious projects to work on this.

Of course it can. It requires several hours worth of recharge to be at all effective, however. And the larger the target, the more recharge required to fully power the cell.

[He scoffs, and waves a hand.] None taken, I assure you. It's for preventative purposes, and one would hope such a situation would never arise.

[Those big shoulders shrug.]

Nothing more serious than a comprehensive comparison of soil samples between this Cybertron and my own.

Right. [Recharging had been his only concern, so far. Thankfully, it wouldn't be a problem. He eyes the gun, then slightly, just ever so slightly, smirks.] I think I'd rather be focusing on dirt and rocks than building weapons myself. [He's not insulting Perceptor, simply saying peace, even boredom, would be TREMENDOUSLY welcome right about now.]

Perhaps I misspoke... while it would be preferable to have such a dull activity occupy my time, I wish there were something more worth my mental capacity to do. That... did not involve weaponry.

[He huffs, but then, holds out his arms.]

If you've no further questions... I believe you wished to check for damage?

[He nodded.] Right. [There was almost a lack of caution as he hefted up the gun, aiming for open ground. Fired.]

[If he had an eyebrow to arch, he would have. Despite his... disdain for firearms, Perceptor himself was a good shot. Knew how to use one...]

[Apparently the concept is not universal.]

You... may wish to use both hands, the next time you fire.

[Don't laugh as Ambulon sits up from the ground, frowning. Recoil or just clumsiness - don't laugh.] ... Okay. Right. Both hands. [He remains sitting to assess the result of the shot.] Looks like it's a winner. [Though there's hardly humor in his voice; he examines the gun in his hands again before standing. Turns and regards Perceptor with an appreciative look.] Thank you. And... Yeah, no, was a little too casual there. Both hands, promise.

[Oh, no. Perceptor would likely only laugh at a physics joke.]

[In answer, he nods.]

Very well. And hopefully, you won't have cause to test it against a real opponent. In any fashion.
