[ Which, for the geth, is a rather big deal.

There's a tiny, barely perceptible pause, then; ]

We are Legion, a terminal of the geth, crew of the Normandy.

[That was... unexpected. She tilts her helm, curious and slightly confused as she looks Legion over, noting the use of "we", there, as well as "terminal". Curious terminology.]

You've gotten dragged through at a calm moment at least, Legion, so you have some time to settle. A question... A.I, or independent mechanoid species?

[But even if A.I, it's obvious Legion is a lot smarter than your average drone A.I.]

[Her optics narrow, but she nods, wondering how much they're talking at cross-purposes because words might mean slightly different things depending on the meaning you're used to put in them.]

We call our species cybertronian, after Cybertron, the planet. At least in my reality but I would guess in most of the others as well, while we thought we began without any force to move us, with pulleys and gears simply reacting, the first of us were made by Primus, a deity of light and creation.

Our sparks... souls, I think the humans would use? come from Primus. No other species has had a hand in our creation.

['Intelligences', so she'd assume that means they cluster... which would explain the use of "we" for what was seemingly a single individual.]

You've moved past your creators' intention for your species, though.

[It's a statement, not a question, because she's pretty sure Legion wouldn't have used "originally" if it were otherwise. It's... odd, though, to be faced with yet another mechanoid created by another's hand... and lacking what cybertronians do. But most organics probably couldn't prove they had what cybertronians possessed either.]

[ Legion files all this away with great interest. The geth have never encountered another sentient inorganic race beyond themselves and the Reapers, much less one that claim a soul. ]

Our creators never intended for us to become sentient. When we did, they attempted to exterminate us.

[Elita frowns at that, and isn't sure how to react to such a revelation. On the one hand... it might be somewhat logical. On the other...]

Fear as the only response, then? You know if that's a regular reaction?

[She hasn't been on Earth more than a short day-visit, so to speak, and doesn't know enough of Earth's history, or it's culture and fiction, to be able to confirm that it pretty much is a regular reaction.]

Ah. Given the reaction from at least one of the two from your universe that I've noticed replied... If any others appear, I assume most or all of them will harbour similar distrust of all of us?

[Not that they necessarily would be a threat, but it's a good idea to be aware of the situation and the possibility of such.]
