[Luxord has his hood up, hiding his features completely; though those that spoke to him in the junk pile will recognize his voice. He's idly shuffling his cards, and it seems he's set the communicator on a wall or some such, as the angle's actually rather good... enough to catch both him, the extremely cozy looking (well... cozy by Cybertronian standards. with Luxord in it, it'd be more apt to call it "cavernous") nook he's sitting in, and then the magnificent view of a placid lake outside the window.]
Now, I don't know about you, but I'm actually finding this situation rather ideal. Comfortable surroundings, interesting things to explore, pleasurable company... now, all we'd need to make it complete is a weekly game night and perhaps someone who could cook, and we'd be quite, set, don't you agree?
[Flip, shuffle, and finally his hands still]
So, let's get to know each other, just a little, shall we? I come from a moonlit city without a sun, where the rain falls without end. But I'm a well-traveled soul, I must say, I've been to many worlds in my time, and I'm curious about the ones you've come from. So, then...
[flip and draw]
Tell me of your worlds, would you? I'm curious.

Ever been to Japan?
no subject
[Inexplicably, he did go to Shibuya once. But Shibuya is, of course, not in Japan. Duh. Just like Big Ben is nowhere near London, whatever London is! ]
That sounds entertaining, at least. I'd wager that you're seldom bored.

Well, being the cop that I am, let's just say I'm very busy.

[he idly flips a card off the top of his deck, then cuts it back in]
A man of the law, then? I'd imagine you've got your work cut out for you, in such a place.
no subject
Most definitely. The Brave Police are rarely out of work. A bit of peace is a blessing.

Have...have you been to a world where people can manipulate water, earth, fire, and air? Where there was the Water Tribe, the Earth Kingdom and the Fire Nation? A Republic City? Because that's my world.

Oh, uh...thank you. Your world sounds neat too, though unreal, like something from a dream, or the Spirit World....
[Korra blinks.]
Are you from the Spirit World?
no subject
[But that information's on a need-to-know basis, and this girl doesn't need to know.]
Goodness no.
As for the ones I knew who had power over the elements... the gentleman who could control water was a lazy fool who only wished to play music all day. Pleasant enough, but useless. The one who could control fire? A fine poker player, one of the best, but a bit cagey... very good at keeping a pokerface, perhaps even better than me. Earth? Stoic and stony, as one would expect. Not much of a conversationalist. And Air? arrogant, of the opinion that he was above everyone else.
[a shrug]
But where I come from, most people can learn magic, if they try. Even I could do a little trickery with fire and ice, if I wanted; indeed, I was better than most. I seem to have lost that skill here though. No great thing, magic was never my specialty...

[Korra jerked, looking embarrassed, wonder if she had offended someone else by accident.]
I didn't mean--um, I guess if you don't know it, you're probably not from around there. I've never been to the Spirit World myself, but I've heard stories of how strange a place it can be, and the world you described sounded just as weird.
[Korra's eyes widened. That sounded kinda horrible.]
I mean, it's just weird to me, it's probably totally normal to you, i--I really don't mean to make fun of you.
[Korra blinked. The water guy sorta sounded like the stories of Avatar Kuruk. Earth sounded like Chief Lin Bei Fong. Her eyes widened at Air guy. She begins to rush.]
Air? He could control air? How? He wouldn't happen to be here, would he? Do you know how to control air too?
no subject
Don't worry, my dear, I'm not offended. I'm well aware that my place of origin is strange. Indeed, I find this place much more pleasant in some ways.
As for that... Xaldin isn't here, no. As for me, if I have the right spells, certainly, but I don't have any of them right now. I have no innate control. Xaldin does, but like I said, he isn't here. And even if he was, trust me, you wouldn't wish to meet him. He's often a trying individual to deal with even for those who know him well. Why so interested in aeromancy?
no subject
'Aeromancy--?'
If we're talking about the same thing, it's called 'airbending' where I'm from, the ability to control and manipulate the air.
Back home, I was born into this...very specific role, that requires me to learn how to control the air. I learned all the forms of that discipline back home, but I've never been able to summon up or manipulate any air at all!
no subject
But the way you speak of it, it sounds almost more like a limb, something part of you, as it were. In which case... Xaldin's air mastery is a part of him, but he's also an absolutely dreadful teacher, trust me. You'd want to find someone else. That, and I suspect the way we use magic, even our own innate magic, differs greatly from your own... even if I could teach you an air spell, it probably wouldn't fulfill the requirements of whatever your role is.
no subject
A limb...yeah, pretty much, I think. I control the elements through martial arts gestures, like a kick or a punch for example. And yeah, it's...it's definitely a part of me.
Thanks for the info.
...So, you mentioned cooking? I've managed to scrape some peaches together, but I'm still looking for more.

[he turns the camera to the HUGE and beautiful lake outside the window]
I do believe we'd have you covered. No fish in it that I know of, sadly enough, though perhaps if we're lucky some will fall from the sky, hmm? I've been working with Trion as well to explain human food to him in the hopes of getting more... we could use some help, I think...
no subject
Fruits and vegetables would hit the spot! Bummer about the meat though. I wonder if there are any critters to hunt?
I'll have to check out Alpha Trion's place sometime.
