accidental video | location: Trion's sector
[An elbow or some errant piece of lab equipment must have activated the Link. Either that or Perceptor meant to say something, but was called away by whatever it was he's tinkering with. In this case, it's something under that big work-lamp of his, and vaguely resembles a small box. With a button on top.]
... I've utterly no memory of this. Why on Cybertron would there be...?
[Link feed forgotten, he peers lower, examining whatever this device may be.]
What could the button possibly --
[And, as if in retribution for the last time this happened being locked away from prying optics, something small, glowing, and flying on rotors buzzes right up into the tank's face. He jerks backwards, upwards, and...]
[CRACK goes the back of his head against the lamp.]
[The video goes dark, save for the lights on Perceptor's frame, and that of the glowing insectoid itself, buzzing happily about while the Autobot curses.]

[The video goes dark, save for the lights on Perceptor's frame, and that of the glowing insectoid itself, buzzing happily about while the Autobot curses.]
action;
[He blinks, looking up from the console he'd begun tapping away at.]
No, not yet. And even if I had begun, it certainly wouldn't be in such a permeable container.
action;
What do ya mean 'not yet'? It ain't a plaything.
action;
action;
The bug falls to the ground with a loud -CLANK- right after Perceptor finishes speaking.]
You better. It's not your typical Energon. It's pretty much a mean green, spark-snuffing machine.
action;
[He watches the bug fall, before stepping over, and securing the dead bug in a specimen container.]
Is that a trace of concern I detect?
action;
[He'll have to ask him about that later. Like 'how annoying do you think that guy is'.]
...'s your imagination.
action;
[He stares at him for a moment before shaking his head, and going back to the pad.]
Is it now.
action;
It was durin' that thing with Prime.
[A beat.]
Yeeep. Can't think of any other explanation.
action;
[Enough said, really. He even sounds sombre about it.]
Suit yourself, I suppose.
action;
[He didn't really get CLOSE to Optimus, not even back home, but still. He respected him.]
Apologies.
Guess I've kept ya long enough.
action;
Your apology is... an appreciated sentiment, if not unnecessary. But thank you.
Suit yourself. I'm not terribly busy at the moment.
action;
[He's on his way out, really! He's just getting sidetracked by everything.]
action;
[Being involved in the death of Optimus Prime tends to put a damper on even the strongest desire for research, though.]
action;
...Workin' on anythin?
action;
[He finally looks up from the pad, hands on
demhis hips.]First, you caution me against the toxic substance... and now you're inquiring into my work. A rather odd change of character for you.
action;
Readin' too much into it, Perce. Magnus...wants me to work on my ship.
You said you were in.
action;
Though I wasn't aware you were under the direction of Commander Magnus.
Re: action;
[HE DOESN'T TAKE ORDERS GOD PERCEPTOR YOU'RE LIKE 3000% WRONG.]
'Sides, I owe the guy.
action;
You've heard several of my good ideas, and have yet to act on them... [his head tilts.] Owe him?
action;
[His head tilts up, staring off idly.]
He carried my body back.
action;
The more we know of it, the better prepared we can be to deal with it. It's a perfectly good idea, if you care to follow the logic.
[The rambling trails off, and for a good few moments, Perceptor is honestly silent.]
... Yes. I recall that.
Re: action;
Well, let's just say I'd rather you not be responsible for that.
[Awwwkwardddd.]
's like I said. I owe him.
action;
[There is genuine surprise on his face. It's like Wheeljack just told him Magnus started smiling.]
I was never told that. From what Bulkhead informed me, it sounded more like some naturally occurring toxin. I had no idea it was made... Primus, that changes everything.
[And just like that, he's over at a console, hammering away at the keys. Apparently the rest of what Wheeljack said flew in one audio receptor and out the other.]
Uh huh, yes, of course...
action;
Manufactured isn't the best way to put it. Occurs naturally, but it's pretty impure. Less lethal than what Bulk was exposed to. Megatron took it, put his scientists to work, and got all them impurities out. Refined it into one concentrated bioweapon.
So in a way, it is. And with Synthetic Energon already a tangible thing-
action;
... quietly, of course. It wouldn't do to have such a thing be common knowledge, as you said.
