[There’s a low, frustrated sigh and for a long moment, that’s all there is. Then, someone starts speaking.]

So. I’m dragged to some other Cybertron, go through hours of paperwork, and get dumped on the street. Then I drop off the face of that Cybertron onto a space station in the middle of nowhere and get dumped in a pile of junk that I have to crawl out of.

Now I drop off the face of the station and wind up here with someone in a hood telling me I’m on Cybertron. Again. Not even the same Cybertron, some other Cybertron.

I was in the middle of something! Very important things! [Bartending and best friend things!]

What important things? Polishing your own chassis?

[Because he sounds Cybertronian, and the ranting is kinda self-induglent. Not like when she does it, of course.]

Running my bar, which I'm sure will go to ruins without me to keep those twits out of the energon supplies.

[Not that he doesn't think Convoy or Cliffjumper or Jetfire could handle it, but it was his job, fraggit all.]

A bar?! [They have those on Earth. She's skeptical and has to process the advantages it could have.] It's like an oil house, right? I suppose playing host to overcharged bots could generate intel as well as income.

Something like that, yeah. Called it The Rail Yard. Somebody had t'keep the overstock and it meant that most'a the Cybertronians could get energon without being refused by the manufacturers.

[And it was something to do with his time, really. A use.]

Was it in an old train station? [Not sure she gets it, but Michigan Central Station is refurbished and repurposed by her time.]

Why would manufacturers refuse Cybertronians energon, if there was an overstock? It was one of those Capitalist market manipulations? [Her knowledge of economics is pretty vague.]

Warehouse, actually; the station didn't call f'r trains much. Just a name I borrowed from a place I'd gone before.

It was more one of those 'what if we lose one and the other won't serve both factions equally' issues. Others impose their wars on each others sometimes. And there was rather a deficit of energon when I'd arrived; not many could make it so not much was made.

So- [She's not sure she has this right.] You were considered an impartial distributer? And the manufacturers handled refining energon?

I was. And they did. Well. And one of my comrades suggested I would be good f'r the job, since medics weren't in high demand.

[Slipstream trills laughter.] So, the drinks were medicinal!

You a neutral or civilian or something? [She doesn't think they have any of those in her universe, but she's recently heard of such things.]

[Barricade laughs.] Could always say that.

Decepticon, originally. But things change. As it turns out, things are less hazardous when you aren't one or the other.

That might depend where you are. Here, it's like they didn't invent factions, yet. But elsewhere, it's smart to take the Decepticon brand. Autobots take prisoners, Decepticons probably won't. [Of course, Autobots might be downright vicious in some universes, but she doesn't know much about them.]

My Autobots weren't the prisoner-taking type, normally. As for the factions not being here... I'll give it some time. But my reasons for joining long ago fell apart. [That, and Autobots have treated him more kindly lately.]
