[Thundercracker's in some portion of the Junkpile. He holds up a long, slim package - silver wrapping with a blue bow and a tag. Resting across the palm of the 20-plus-foot-tall Seeker, it looks kind of like someone might have gift-wrapped a pair of chopsticks.]

Does anyone know who Saber is? I think this is his.

[Oops, wrong gender? No doubt he'll learn soon enough.]

Jus' open the slaggin' thing, TC. Who gives a scrap who it belongs to? What if it's somethin' awesome!?

This size? Even if it is, about all I could do with it would be pick my dental plates.

Or you could come open it. [Maybe it'd pop and spray the Cassetticon with confetti or spray paint or something. He'd laugh his aft off if it did. ...okay, now he's almost hoping it might. He'll just enjoy that mental image for an instant, don't mind the smirky grin.]

[ During all of the holiday commotion, Saber hadn't actually thought that she would receive a gift as everyone else had. Or, at least hadn't actively thought about it enough to consider it.

So, this was a surprise. ]

[ The knight is looking too closely at the video feed in order to determine what the gift would be. It looks the shape of a familiar object, but the immediate thought would be impossible.

Plus, these screens are tiny and it's easy to misjudge. ]

Where are you?

[He'll bring it to you. Not because he's a nice mech ~~even though he basically kind of is, left to his own devices~~, just that he doesn't have anything better to do right now.]

The recreation center.

[ He's lucky, considering she is much closer than she could be. ]

If you are considering bringing it, I will go outside and wait for you at the entrance. I would truly appreciate it.

[ Finishing her current task, Saber heads outside, even though he hasn't said he's doing it yet. Safe assumption as he asked where she was. ]

[He hadn't said he would . . . except that essentially he had. Implied it anyway. Whatever. He'll transform and head there. As a fighter jet, he can get pretty much anywhere in Haven in a matter of minutes, so the distance doesn't bother him.]

[A blue F-15 Eagle appears in the sky, dropping altitude rapidly before pulling up its nosecone, then unfolding to reveal the Seeker, who drops easily to his feet. He hesitates, then goes ahead and crouches on a knee before reaching into subspace to produce and offer the wrapped gift.]

[Manners, TC. You CAN be a decent mech when you want to be. ...after another instant's hesitation, he adds-]

I'm Thundercracker.

[ How pleasant of him. As she goes to take it from him, she pauses.. heavily. She then goes to reach out and as her fingers touch the gift, she's already began shaking slightly.

..Is this..?

The knight, for the first time in ages, acts impatient and tears the gift wrap off of the sheath. ]

[Thundercracker can't help the curiosity with which he watches the human. Obviously she suspects what it is, and it means something of significance to her.]

[WHAT that could be, of course, he has no clue.]

[ Well, it was a sheath. To Thundercracker, it wouldn't be a big deal. How in the world did this.. get to her, here? She couldn't be too ungrateful, however.

Jumping back from Thundercracker, a good ten feet in distance, the King of Knights stood and spread out her hands. The sheath, already beginning to glow gold in response to being reunited with its owner, had slightly lifted up from her hands and began to float.

It then moved forward and simply disappeared into her chest.

The reuniting of a prana source and a Servant was always spectacular, but this was Saber and Avalon. Not only that, but she still had Excalibur. Green energy flew out from her, creating quite a light show. Anyone who could detect energy in any format would be able to feel it if they were somewhat nearby.

And then it ended and the knight was simply standing there, a somewhat determined look on her face. These gifts were given by.. who? The Lambda? Well, someone had wanted her to have Avalon, and now she had it. ]

[Thundercracker most definitely qualified as "somewhat nearby". The glow startled him, but it was the swell of energy that really had him reacting, hammering at him with an intensity that surprised, even alarmed him. What the frag was she-...never mind, HOW the frag was she doing that?]

[He wasn't expecting an attack – and really, in his spark, he knows it's not meant to be one – so it takes him a few astro-seconds for his mind to really start to turn towards defense. But just then, the energies were gone as quickly as they'd emerged.]

[For a moment, the Seeker can do little more than stare. What the Pit just happened!?]

[ Turning towards Thundercracker, the knight takes a few steps forward and then bows her upper form humbly. ]

I know it was not you who gifted it, but it was you who found it and made me aware. I thank you.

[ Squeezing and releasing her fists a few times, Saber took the few moments she could to appreciate the feeling of the energy rushing through her system again. She still wasn't at her best, but it was better than what she had been. [

...what just happened? What is that thing? I wasn't aware that organics could . . . emit energy like that.

Avalon is the sheath of my sword, Excalibur. Both of them have .. various properties, such as this. Most organics can not, and with how few can, it would be safer to say we can't.

[ Saber is just a very rare exception, apparently. ]

I wouldn't classify myself as a normal human.

[ She had hardly even been considered human after pulling the sword from the stone. ]

No? Huh . . . then what are you?

[Because she scans as human. Basically. As far as he can tell. Then again, with that incredible energy output she just did, he’s not about to just doubt her outright.]

[ Saber pauses heavily, as if debating whether or not she wants to tell the man. It's not that she minds sharing, it's the difficulty of sharing the story. ]

I was human until fourteen, when chosen by the sword in the stone. I then became king. Then I was Protected by the Fairies and was gifted Excalibur and Avalon. And when I died, I became a Heroic Spirit. During my entire life, I've never been quite human.

[He has no idea what a “fay-reez” is, and if he knew more about human gender roles, he’d question why an “obviously female” would be called king instead of queen, but frankly, the binary nature of organics is kind beyond him. He can see her reluctance, though, and it’s . . . not really his business, so he won’t really question too much.]

[Just the point that does stick out to him.]

You . . . died? But you’re alive now . . . ?

Ah, yes. I was summoned by the Holy Grail to participate in its war. Twice. I don't think I am here for the same reason, but my.. existence feels as if I was summoned.

[ That part is relatively easy to explain, so she doesn't mind sharing that. Tilting her head, she looks at Thundercracker for a moment before speaking again. ]

Death is, indeed, usually final. I assume from your reaction that it is also uncommon to return from death for Cybertronians?
