[ VIDEO ][ ORIGIN: Megatronus Prime's Temple ]

[ For being a masked mech, he's radiating his confusion pretty well. His optics are wide, shoulders tense, and by his hesitant stance it's clear he's approaching the Link with the same amount of caution as someone would a dud bomb. ]

...Hello?

[ He pauses. Nothing happens. Some of the tension melts out of his posture. ]

Oh, good. I'm First Aid and I'm a nurse. I'm not supposed to be here. I'll try and help out where I can, but I'm not sure how I can help the... situation at least.

[ He fidgets his hands. ]

I'm looking for two medics by the name of Ambulon and Pharma. They're my bosses. They're about this tall--
[ He raises his hand to two different heights. He's not the biggest of mechs, so he's making it obvious they're taller than him. ]
-- and both are painted, ah, well they both have red and white. Pharma has quite a bit of blue.

[ He rubs the back of his helm where it connects to his neck, pressing hard into tense servos. ]

[ A snort from the possibly rather familiar-looking bot on the channel. ]

Most medical mechs are red and white. You might want to be a bit more descriptive than that.

That said, I'm fairly sure Pharma's doing research in Liege Maximo's temple... [ His eyes dim for a moment, because ffff Pharma, he doesn't quite like you, even though he will admit that you're brilliant. ]

He's got himself help already, though, so if you're looking to cut the boredom by treating real patients, you might find yourself better occupied with me at the medbay in the Solian sector.

[ There may be a resemblance, but that's about it. ]

I know, it was just some place to start.

[ Since most non-medical mechs aren't painted red and white. ]

You mean he doesn't need me? [ Oh, ouch. Fired already and he wasn't even aware of it. ]

Who are you, again?

Hn... [ Oh god, his grumpiness has hurt this new bot's feelings. Ratchet is possibly a bit regretful of this. ]

Well, he might. I don't know him well enough to judge.

And I'm Ratchet. [ A beat, then he adds. ] Sorry for the curtness. I'm prepping for a major surgery on a non-Cybertronian being. Don't have much processor power to devote to eloquence.

[ That just gets a nod from him. ]

Pharma's never been the friend making type.

[ Now to be puzzled forever. First Aid tilts his head and scrutinizes the video feed a little closer. ]

Ratchet? You look... different. Wait-- [ Said he didn't know Pharma well. Not the same Ratchet? Well, all the good names were taken. ] Oh, sorry... I mistook you for someone else.

[ MOVING ON before he embarrasses himself more. ]

It's OK. I'm used to it. Surgery on an alien is... a first though.

Ah. Yes, there's a plethora of different universe represented here. [ He rubs at his chevron, vaguely embarrassed. ] Don't know what your Ratchet's like, but where I'm from, I'm the CMO of the Autobot forces on Earth, under Optimus Prime.

[ A grim sort of smile. ] It's a first for me too, but it's needed. [ He thinks for a moment, then adds a hesitant offer. ] Wouldn't mind some help, if you're interested.

[ Different universes sounds more like some kind of story he's read (and maybe written, in his boredom, and then guiltily deleted) than something of reality. ]

That sounds similar.

[ You know, aside from the obvious differences. The request for his help has him jerk slightly though. ]

Me? I'm... not sure what use I'd be. I don't really know much about organics.

[ Just kind of assuming, since most civilizations were organic. ]

Gunmax is an in-organic, like us. He and his team were created by humans in his universe. They're very much like us, and yet extremely different. The problem lies in the fact that they run on gasoline which, while plentiful on Earth is extremely rare here. I'm trying to alter his engine so that it'll run on Energon... and an assistant who can tell the different between a line-clamp and a spanner would be useful, I think.

[ He looks away, realizing that he is, perhaps, not the most likable of mechs. ]

It's up to you, though. I'm certainly not going to force you to work with me against your will.

Ratchet. [Have a cold stare from Pharma.]

I would appreciate it if you did not try to filch my assistants before I've had a chance to speak with them.

[ Have a little tip of the head and a touch to his chevron that's just barely this side of respectful. ]

I figured that you were set, given you've got your Acolyte assistant, so First Aid here might get a little bored, is all.

Unfortunately, my acolyte does not possess any medical training. While useful in aiding me while I am waiting for replacement extremities, he is still not nearly at the level of professional competency I require.

Having difficulties fielding your work on your own these days?

Ah. Well, if you need that level of assistance, of course I'll step aside. Out of curiosity, have you made any headway on replacing your missing, ah, appendages yet?

[ He ignores Pharma's dig at his work, because he knows very well exactly how much he's fielding. ]

Every good doctor should have an excellent medical staff backing him up. [Not that he's ever willing to share the credit with them, but he needs someone to do the menial work.]

I have, actually. They should be ready soon. [And hopefully the correct shade of blue.]

But in a situation such as ours where we have a significant shortage of qualified individuals perhaps we should, ah, how do the sparklings put it? [ He taps at his lip, then fakes a revelation. ] Ah yes. Share.

And my congratulations on the new hands, then. I hope they're as skilled as your originals were.

Share, eh? [He chuckles] As long as First Aid finishes his assigned duties, he is free to do whatever he wishes in his free time.

Thank you and so do I. The world really cannot afford to lose such a skilled medic as myself.

Hmm, and so modest too.

[ Ratchet refrains from rol- no, he just rolled his optics anyway. Because he's officially decided that he doesn't care what Pharma thinks of him. ]

[Pharma grins. Oh, Ratchet try not to be jealous. It's unbecoming.]

One more thing. Will you tell Drift to stop by? He never made it down to my lab and I'd prefer to believe that it was not because he died.

If I remember to, I'll let him know you were looking for him. I've got a lot of things to juggle, though.

[ He might just "forget". You never know. ]

I see. Perhaps I will contact him myself then. [This frown? It is for you.]

Perhaps you should. Might do you some good to do some of your own work sometime.

[Have a smug smirk in return, Pharma darling.]

Um. Hold on.

[ Ratchet nods, then pulls back a bit. If Pharma is really going to pull for First Aid to work with him, then Ratchet won't let his lingering dislike of the mech colour his interactions with him. Just because his experimental cure for Drift was painful as slag doesn't mean that he's not a good scientist. ~~Just meant he was a bad medic is all~~. ]

Well, if you feel you have the time, the offer's open. Just come to the bay tomorrow... or not. I understand if you have other, ah, responsibilities to take care of.

[ You know what? He wants to help. His tone is a little more serious. ]

I'll see if I can come by.

[ Which means he might sneak off there. Sure, it's nothing too glorious, but he wanted to give all the help he can. ]

Fantastic. I seem to have gotten Pharma's permission to borrow you, so I don't think he'll be a problem, but don't feel like you're obligated. Just know that I'd greatly appreciate any help you might offer.

[ And he also sort of wants to get to know this new mech. He seems much more likable than his boss... ]

[ That's good, at least. He didn't want to have to argue to go when he just got here. First Aid nods. ]
