[The feed opens to a view of Megatronus Prime, a bloodied sword in hand. He gives it a hard flick to clear the worst of the gore from his blade, and a chunk of what used to be one of the monstrous centipedes flies off and knocks a nearby Acolyte in the head. It stumbles out of frame. Megatronus doesn't pay it any mind and addresses his audience:]

I imagine few of you will argue with me if I say that our guests have overstayed their welcome. Hospitality has its limits, after all.

[Besides which, he certainly never invited them to visit in the first place. Rude, centipedes. Very rude.]

When the creatures of the Badlands haven't the sense to retreat of their own volition, I find that a concentrated application of brute force is often enough to convince them of their error. My kin and I have determined that these monsters are likely led by a demon hiding at the core of an offshoot of the Badlands – if you've wandered outside of the Haven, you've likely noticed the approaching darkness. That is where we will be applying our force.

- and when I say 'we,' I don't simply mean my brothers and I.

Refugees, I call on you for volunteers who can fight; failing that, I'll accept volunteers who think they can fight. Anyone with a skill that would serve them well in combat, or those capable of supporting combatants. What you lack in size or experience can be compensated for through other means. I am willing to offer what gifts I can to those willing to fight in order to improve the likelihood of your... success.

[Survival. The word he means is 'survival.' Dragging Refugees to the heart of enemy territory often ends poorly for the weaker members of the group, but it's a necessary sacrifice.]

Unless, of course, you'd all rather be subject to regular attacks within the Haven. For those of you that care enough about your friends and your place here to act, I will be waiting for you in my arena. The Acolytes will direct you if you cannot find your way.

Organized assault time, huh? Going right into the lair of the big bad can really suck, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

Better to face them in battle than to face one of them looming over you when you wake.

Have you what you need to fight them?

[He's getting a lot more organics signing up for this than he thought he would, and Megatronus still isn't convinced they won't all make unappealing squishing noises when faced with something ten times their size and composed entirely of armor and sharp teeth.]

Yep. I can build machines up off my body to use as weapons... Blades, a whip with an electrical surge, stuff like that.

I've also got another trick up my sleeve - my technopathy. I can only do it through touch, but I could use it to cause some trouble for the bugs. Granted, I'm not real big on the idea of using my power like some kinda mind control, but...I mean, are these things even really alive? They're pretty much just programmed killing machines, aren't they?

The more trouble you can cause for the creatures, the more trouble you can save your fellow refugees from.

Though corrupted, they are alive. You have animals on your homeworld, don't you? These creatures are similar. They are simple and lack understanding or empathy. I doubt they can experience emotion of any sort. Don't let their deaths weigh on your conscience.

[Rex is silent a moment, thinking. Even animals don't deserve to be under complete mind control, their instincts completely suppressed to where all they do is follow orders like slack-jawed zombies. Still... It might not be necessary.]

If they're corrupted, then maybe they just need to be convinced not to do what they're doing. I'll just be...persuasive.

[Not wholly controlling.]

You'd be wasting your time. The corruption created them. Nothing short of a complete reprogramming would "convince" them of anything.

[Megatronus pauses. Now that Rex has put the thought in his head, he has to admit that the monsters are very adept burrowers. They could certainly put them to work.]

If that is what you intend, you're better off to wait until we've disposed of their leader and experiment with the remaining units.

[...this is starting to hit far too close to home. Damn all these complicated matters regarding ethics. He'll need to think on this more before the time comes to carry out Megatronus' plan.]

But until then, I'll help take them out through combat.

[Because there's more honor in that.]

As you prefer. Provided you're helping rather than getting in the way, any method of disabling the creatures will suffice.

[But Rex has likely doomed at least one of the creatures to being abducted and experimented on. Congratulations!]

You'll be the first one to regret it if you're not able to keep them at bay, but nonetheless - I'll hold you to that. I imagine Solus would be displeased if I returned you in a non-functional state.
