In order to find some material for the... "dance", I went into the Junk Pile and found some items I am willing to give to those who need them. It includes:

A few rolls of dead animal skin.
A black jacket, no doubt part of a suit but I couldn't find the rest.
Two black bowties, but I am keeping one for myself.
Three ties: one pink with green dots, one yellow with blue sharks and one solid black. I think the last one tried to strangle me, but it might just have been the wind.
A pair of scissors.
What looks like brightly colored rope...? [That's tinsel, sweetie.]
Two rather thick sheets of copper, three of aluminum, and one of what appear to be tin. Plus some silver sheet, a lot smaller though.
Three cans of peach. I think they are still good.
Fresh apples. Two bags of them actually.
Brightly colored feathers. Handfuls of them.

And... that's all.

I am at the Hub if you need anything.

And I am also missing a... "date". If someone is interested....

That's a lot of stuff. Um... Well I'm not sure. I'm excited about the dance but I don't know what I should wear since I've never been to one.

I have been busy. Patrolling, mostly. Looking for new people. I met a demon, but I still don't know for sure what that is.

Saber said "formal wear". Some people are making... "hats"? Or I think the jacket I found could suit you. I do not know for sure, unfortunately.

There seems to be a lot of new people around lately, huh.

[The boy tilts his head.]

Yeah, the only thing I ever helped make was a dress but even then it wasn't from scratch. A jacket though, hmm. Could I try it on for size?

Yes. Interesting people as well. I didn't talk to them all, but I keep an eye on the Link. The newcomers seem mostly safe.

[Except the "Overlord" Laharl, who seemed just crazy.]

Good to know. Some of them arrived when all those monsters were creeping around the Haven.

Outside? Oh- thanks! I appreciate it. I'm not sure what I'd do with a feather, but it couldn't hurt I guess. Should I come meet you then?

I don't think any of them was hurt by a centipede. I might be wrong, though. At least nobody died.

At least I know for sure that some of them know how to take care of themselves.

[When you arrive Ventus, Melan is busy rummaging throught the pile of random items he had accumulated. You can see the black jacket laying on one of the metal sheets the Knight has found; it's clean, and free of dust now. It still might be a little damp, thought.]

Hey Melan!

[The boy greets him brightly as he hops off his glider and to the ground. He smiles as he sees the jacket in question. It looks a lot better than he was expecting.]

[The Knight straightened when he heard his name, turning to see Ventus hop down. The Knight smiled in greetings and came closer.]

Ventus. Hello. I am glad to see you are alright.

Same to you! So anything I can do to help? And is that the jacket you were talking about?

No, it's alright. I just finished to sort everything. If you see something that might be useful to you, just help yourself. Oh, and watch out for the Killer Tie.

Yes, it is. I am not sure if it will suit you, however. The size seems good to me, but I am not an expert.

Killer tie, huh? [He chuckles as he wanders over to see what all Melan had managed to scrounge up.]

[He picks up the jacket, holding it in front of him.]

It...doesn't look too bad. A little big, maybe, but maybe I can do something with it.

I do! I can work with it, definitely. I don't know if you'd be able to find any more parts to it, but if you can't, that's okay. This is more than I had to start with.

[He smiles up at Melan again.]

[Melan briefly smiled back, looking as pleased with himself as a Knight could be. They were serious people, after all.]

Very good. If you need anything else, just ask. Just don't take what I put aside. It's for various people. Would you like an apple?

[Melan carefully poked the Killer Tie to see if it would react, but it simply poked his sword back. Strange.]

Did you patrol recently? I found a few monsters yesterday. With the centipedes gone, they are back.

Heh, don't work too hard. I don't think a full set's necessary at least, and considering how things are, anything a person can come up with seems to be more than enough.

[Ventus watches as the Knight pokes at the tie, surprised to see that it actually reacts. Whoa.]

Uh? Oh- yeah, a couple days ago, but things were pretty clear when I was out.
