In order to find some material for the... "dance", I went into the Junk Pile and found some items I am willing to give to those who need them. It includes:

A few rolls of dead animal skin.
A black jacket, no doubt part of a suit but I couldn't find the rest.
Two black bowties, but I am keeping one for myself.
Three ties: one pink with green dots, one yellow with blue sharks and one solid black. I think the last one tried to strangle me, but it might just have been the wind.
A pair of scissors.
What looks like brightly colored rope...? [That's tinsel, sweetie.]
Two rather thick sheets of copper, three of aluminum, and one of what appear to be tin. Plus some silver sheet, a lot smaller though.
Three cans of peach. I think they are still good.
Fresh apples. Two bags of them actually.
Brightly colored feathers. Handfuls of them.

And... that's all.

I am at the Hub if you need anything.

And I am also missing a... "date". If someone is interested....

[Hinata comes down the steps of the Temple, a smile undisguised on her face. And it's not about the apples.]

H-have you been keeping busy since the battle?

[Melan smiled back, crouching to be at eyes level with the human. Why were the young girls always so small?]

Yes. I patrolled a lot, and I am trying to help for the... "dance". And you? Are you alright? Here. Have those.

[He slowly extended his tentacles to give her the fruits. She seemed somewhat pale, but Melan wasn't exactly a good judge on human expression and body language.]

You live here?

[She can't help her size: her father holds it against her, too.]

So, they're gone? For sure?

[The giant robots were less frightening than the creatures.]

I wish I could have done more. [But, well, tiny girl and her powers barely seemed to work.]

[She takes the apple, holding it for a long moment as if she doesn't quite believe it's real. She gives a quick bow of gratitude before taking a bit.]

I do. The acolytes say I do.

[Melan is certainly not going to held that against Hinata. He knows she can't help it. Most humans are smaller and more fragile than he is, anyway.]

The centipedes are gone. But there are other monsters out there. Be careful when you are outside.

You did more than enough. You were very brave. You can be proud of yourself. [Because going against big metallic centipedes with no weapon? It was either bravery, or madness. He liked to think that Hinata was sane.]

Hm. You don't feel too alone? I don't exactly have a place to live, but I could stay here with you. When I am not patrolling.

[She manages a smile, but it sort of undermines the confident words.]

[She was, indeed. Melan had never seen a human do what she did, and going to fight against giant monsters when you were so small was very brave.]

I... have a room in Prima's temple, but I don't use it. I am outside, more of the time. I sleep on the roof of a Temple when I need it.

[She blushes bright red at the compliment, hands clutching at the apples--it's not something she's used to.]

On the roof? But isn't it...lonely there?

[Melan opens his mouth and then closes it, looking away and frowning slightly. Loneliness was new for him, and he had honestly always thought that only Marin could make it go away. He always felt it go when she was here.]

[But Marin wasn't here, and it was a good thing. Cybertron was too dangerous for a defenseless human. Melan turns his gaze back on Hinata, looking as serious as ever.]

It is. But I manage. And you?

I...I miss my team. And Kurenai-sensei.

[She really, really misses them.]

But just because they're not here doesn't mean I should give up, right?

[Have an entirely unconvincing brave face.]

I'd like to see your rooftop some time?

[And then she shrinks back as if that was too pushy.]

I miss my friends as well. It's normal, when you are separated from them.

[He knows that feeling very well.]

It's okay to be sad. As long as it doesn't hinder your survival. You have done very well so far.

[Melan tilts his head on the side, so puzzled he doesn't notice Hinata cringing.]

Of course they will miss you. You are their friend. You always miss your friends when they are not with you. Especially when you don't know where they are.

[Melan tilts his head, considering.]
