[This isn't the roof of the Police Station -- in fact, this is a pretty nice room. Where did he get that?]

[Despite how nice it looks in there, Kagerou is looking at something off-screen.]

[... and an Acolyte. Standing in a corner. Or, at least, it looks like one. It's sort of hard to tell, what with the tarp it has thrown over its head.]

[Omg Kagerou you brought her home a pet you're like the best dad ever for srs. She's hopping around the new room, among the stacks of things that they had to transfer over to Trion's--the move was easier than you'd expect. Kay didn't mind going back all that much--but by far she's going ga-ga over the Acolyte.]

It's cute! Can we keep him? C'mooooon, What's his name? You can tell me, I'm a master at keeping secrets. In fact, I just steal them!

[Another circle around the creature.]

Maybe he can sit.

[At first, he felt bad moving Kay all around like he had. First out of the temple, then up to the roof, and now back to the temple again. But he'd done this for her sake... At least she's taking to it well.]

[She even seems to be taking it better than he is, considering he's staying on the opposite side of the room from the Acolyte.]

[... and he threw a blanket over its head.]

It doesn't have a name. It's... just meant to follow me. I think.

[He tilts his head. That's actually a good question.]

[She runs over to the Acolyte, starting to try and climb up it as it...sits there. Seriously, it's like they just got a giant already-trained dog.]

He needs a name.

Kay... I wouldn't--

[He steps forward, to try and pick her off the thing. Just in case.]

It's not my place to name it.

I don't... think.

[And she's plucked like a little peach off of the Acolyte. She's gotten so used to it that it doesn't even phase her anymore.]

Fine. I'll name it.

[She puts a finger to her chin, tilting her head as she's held in Kagerou's hand. There were so many names she could give it. Maybe something simple like Steve or Jake, or...something symbolic like Kagerou's name was... Whatever it would be, it had to be perfect.

After all, these things live forever, don't they?]

Stumpy.

[He sets her up on his shoulder without thinking about it -- it's second nature to him, as well.]

You'll...?

[Well, there's no stopping her. And there's no harm in letting her. Is there? Trion won't be angry with something so simple as naming it. Right?]

[How bad can it be--]

[Oh.]

Stumpy?

[Yep, completely second nature. She stands on his shoulder, surveying the creature in front of them.]

Well he's of dinky. And silly. I think Stumpy fits it.

Either that or Wolfgang Amadeus Brooks the Third....Esquire.

[He looks back and forth between Kay and the blanket-wearing Acolyte.]

I'm not... sure I'm allowed to name it.

[She leans her back against the side of Kagerou's helm, looking down at their new member of their little family.]

[He looks at the Acolyte, then to Kay.]

Well Mr. Trion's like...our headmaster or something. Like a school. I'm sure you can name your school laptop if he hands one out to you.

... I've never been to a school. But, Kay, no. I don't think it's the same thing as a computer.

[He thinks it's just a particularly quiet sort of Cybertronian.]

Maybe Mr. Trion just lent him out to you.

[She folds her arms.]

I don't know if it's... going to answer that. It just sort of listens when I ask it to do things...

[Maybe he should have asked Trion to be more specific about this thing.]

This thing is strange, Kay.

[He looks at the Acolyte, uncertainly.]

[It just nods.]

...hm. Doesn't really flow as nicely as I thought.

How can you tell?

[Oh. Okay. He sort of has to smile there.]

I'm not sure anything 'flows' with... Stumpy.

...You never read the story of Snow White, did you.

[Everything goes with Stumpy there.]

There are a lot of things I've never read, Kay.

...Oh. Well that would explain it.

Stumpy would fit right in.

How would he fit in with... snow?

No no, Snow White was a princess.

It's kind of a silly name now that I think of it.
