Once we get out of here, we're just going to go right back to blowing each other apart again, so why bother playing house and acting like there isn't a war on? Let's just cut out the acting and take care of our problems now.

I'll give you that, yes.

But to imemdiately assume that you know who the enemy is upon immediate arrival in a place is a fast judgement to make; the judgement of someone who's entire perception of individuals boils down to the symbol they wear rather than who they are as an individual. He's assuming that just because someone joined the Decepticons that they are evil but he knows nothing about what led to them making that decision.

And no, I'm not making assumptions. I'm merely stating that you can't judge a book by its cover and that individuals can change. Hes jumping to conclusions without even giving anyone here not of his own faction a chance which is a deplorable trait in itself, even with a long history of way.

Everyone deserves a chance, no mater what they've done in the past.

And given that there's a somewhat coherent philosophy behind the Decepticons behaviour, I would point out it's not wildly strange to make such an assumption even when multiple realities are in play. It might not be the most selfless reaction, but loss tends to do that.

Forgiveness and acceptance of someone else's actions can only be given on a personal basis, and can't be forced merely because it's expedient to do so. [He has accepted, but that doesn't mean he agrees and there might be some shade of bitterness left because of that. And second chances... are difficult, and in a case like theirs probably only works in their own realities, as a system of amnesty.]

And perhaps Sideswipe has good reasons to jump to those conclusions. I think it's all part of your question of what defines us as Autobots and Decepticons, and I can obviously not know the situation in your reality, or how things began, but I know how events transpired in mine, which undoubtedly are different from Sideswipe's...

[Jetfire's optics dim a little and he frowns.]

If we wouldn't be fighting in my reality, we'd be dead or enslaved, since so far it appears we can only make the Decepticons agree to peace when they're cornered and lacking Megatron's presence.

If we weren't fighting, any number of species and planets would be dead or under Decepticon occupation and we'd be complicit in that.

And so far, we've managed to not engage in some of the more... questionable behaviours and acts the Decepticons have performed. Otherwise I wouldn't be where I am.
