[So this is what it feels like to be alive.

As a doll, Four's interaction with the world is muted, dulled because he has no nerves or living bits that allow him to truly feel things. But now? He can feel the bed he's sitting on, and he can actually feel temperature! He carefully inspects his fingers and wiggles his toes. Wow! It feels so strange to have lungs and other sorts of organs!

A glance in a mirror causes him to do a double take though. Four has never truly attached gender to himself, so therefore has never been bothered with thinking about it. Imagine his surprise when he sees a clearly female face staring back. Further inspection says that yes, he is indeed a girl. What does this mean?

Anyway, Four is definitely announcing this. He excitedly turns on his device and waves out at the network. Look at him! He's a human and a girl, this is a very odd day but it's exciting. That idea that his human body is capable of speech never occurs to him.]

I'm human! I want to know what food is like! And water. And wind! Can someone show me what it's like to be alive?

[Yes, good. See, this is exactly the reaction he was expecting everyone else to have. What is wrong with people?!]

Eat all the food! Explore life! Get your head stuck in a bucket and wonder how it even got there in the furst place! That is the essence of youth!

That sounds like fun! Do you want to experience life with me? I really want to know what food is like!

[You're speaking his language, Four. After all, he was pretty much a doll before he got his body. Just...larger.

He gasps at the invitation.]

You betcha! Your first food's gotta be the best food. Trust me, I'm the snack expert.

We should play too! Maybe hide and seek! And Candy! I hear candy is good.

There's candy and topsicles and cake and curry and GIANT MEAT BOWLS! I'm drooling just thinking about it!

And games! Yosuke never wants to play hide and seek with me. Then again, he's never been really good at it... Sometimes I'll be waiting for hours!

[Four smiles and bounces eagerly in his seat. She doesn't want to sit around here all day! Who know how long this is going to last.]

Let's play now! And later we can go to the Hub for some food! Or we can do food first then play...

We can eat and play.

[He gives a very confident chuckle.]

I told you! I'm the snack expert. I have a whole bunch of goodies in my Teddie stash. I'll just bring some over while we play.

Both at the same time?!

[WOW THAT IS SO AMAZING.]

Why don't we meet by the lake? I want to feel the water too!

You got it! I'll be there in a jiffy.

[In fact, he's scrambling right now!]

[He smiles and turns off her communicator and walks towards the door. Even the feeling of walking is exciting! It's too bad his (her?) communicator was too small to fit him anyway, but he rather likes the idea of walking to Alpha Trion's lake! Good thing it isn't that far away!]

[Sadly, Teddie isn't as close to the lake as Four is. In fact, he never seems to be close to anything these days.

Not-so-sadly, he has the ability to hitch a ride on Kitoki-Douji, so it doesn't take him as long as it normally would on foot. Seeing as it's a human's day out, the suit's left back in his room. He's certain he can keep enough snacks in his pockets...

Anyway, to make sure he doesn't spook anyone, he doesn't land exactly near the lake, but rather far enough where it's just a short little walk away. Kintoki-Douji vanishes only mere moments later, like he was never there at all. What's a Kintoki-Douji? The world may never know.]

HEY!!

[He calls out and waves once he feels like he's close enough.]

Let's get this party started!

[Four is crouching at the very edge of the water, staring at the water with an intense interest. Slowly, he reaches over and pokes at it, before pulling back suddenly and surprising himself by giggling shrilly. He just made a noise! A real one!

The feeling of the water is wonderful. It's so cold and wet and he loves it!

A shout draws his attention and he stands up to glance around. Oh! There he is! Four waves and runs towards him. It feels so good to be alive! Even something as trivial as running is like a gift he never expected to have.

Talking is still not a thing he considers yet, so he conveys his happiness by giving Teddy a big human hug.]

[Well there's something he's not used to. The hug causes him to jerk a little in surprise, but he brushes it off and hugs back nonetheless. In fact, it might be just a little tight just because of how little experience he has with hugs.

What can he say? He can't say no to girl attention. Even if that girl is just Four.]

Okay okay okay, we gotta lot to do, so I hope you're ready. I never planned anything before, it's kinda exciting!

[Oh, oh! What do you have there Teddie? Fun things?

Four let's go and claps his hands together excitedly. Whatever you do Four will do too!]

[That person was vaguely familiar, though he couldn't place it.]

Never thought what wind felt like...

Guess you could say it's like an invisible hand running through you.

It's me, 4! I'm going to experience the wind for myself!

...seems like everyone's turning human.

[This is surreal on his part.]

What do you mean experience it for yourself?

Wind would be a nice feeling don't you think? It's nice to feel so close to the world.

Ah, this is a different reaction from the others. [smile] I think you'll find being human ain't so bad.

Well, minus a few things. [WAIT TIL YOU HAVE TO USE THE BATHROOM]

[He'll (she'll?) take what she can!]

Do you think I can stay like this? I really want to!

I'm not sure. I have no idea if this thing goin' around is short term or just a very slow process that will inevitably consume us all with no chance of us turning back, forcing us to remain in our new bodies until we die.

[He... He needs a drink now.]

Either way, enjoy it. And... Can you not talk still?

I have no complaints. I would love to stay this way until this body grows old and dies. Even if my former self would last much longer. ... Talk? I... don't know, I haven't tried.

Hmm. I can imagine it's difficult for someone who has never had vocal cords now in possession of them. Do you know how to talk but haven't tried or do you just not know?

[Oh, hey Four. Don is smiling at you and waving.]

Welcome to the world of the living, Four.

[He shrugs]

Being human isn't so hot, though. I'm a little more excited about what I got to change into. More power, less baggage.

I've never been human before though! So this is a very interesting experience! It's nice to go from being something created to something alive! I hope I get to stay this way!

Hey, I hope I get to stay like this too!

[He puts his chin in his hand.]

Did you think you would be female?

No, I didn't. It doesn't feel all that significant though... I am a doll ordinarily. I only referred to myself as a male because everyone else assumed I was. Hmm... I need to think about this.

[He shrugs. 4's lack of reaction bores him.]

Whatever.

[He shrugs.]

I guess I was a girl once, for a little while. It wasn't that big a deal.

[At the time, it certainly was, but from his comfortable, emotionless vantage point, he can't exactly recall why. Nor does he care to.]

Ahh! Four, is that really you?

[ANOTHER GIRL OH GOSH SHE'S REALLY HAPPY LOOK AT HER BOUNCE.]

Kay! Look, I'm a girl just like you! I had no idea.

Well I'm not complaining! We could use more girls around here!

How's it feel?

It's... nice. It's hard to describe accurately though. A short while ago I was simply a doll infused with a human soul. Now I'm a complex piece of life! It's truly amazing! Being a human is far better than studying them!

Well, you know what they say! When in Rome...

Would you really? I'm in Alpha Trion's temple! Where should we go?

[Oh boy! She quickly sticks the device in her pocket and takes a glance around. Her home seems so small now, its strange.

But off she goes to the lake! Maybe she'll meet Kay on her way down, who knows.]

[Oh, she'll meet her alright. Head on. ...Literally.

Kay's rushing out of her room, and almost forgetting that there are OTHER PEOPLE in this temple...she barrels down the hallways. And unfortunately, right into Four. She stumbles back a bit, making a slight oomph as she tries to balance herself out. That...whoopsies.]

S-Sorry!

[Four instantly falls over. What is balance?

She immediately scrambles to her feet and glances at Kay. Oh gosh she can almost see you eye to eye now! Four blinks with delight and immediately hugs her. It feels so nice to feel another person!]

[And Four gets a hug in return. Just...to feel another warm body to hug, it never seemed to get old in this place. And Four seemed so happy, she couldn't help but squeal a bit at the squeeze.]

Gosh, you're so pretty, Four!

[Pretty? Her?

That's a compliment she never expected to get in life. Four blinks uncertainly as she pulls away. Is she really pretty?

But enough with her own uncertainties. Four leans in and takes a very close look at Kay's face. Seeing as she has yet to learn about personal space, she gets into Kay's space rather shamelessly and starts touching Kay's cheeks and touching her hair.

It feels so nice and warm! How fascinating!]

[When Four starts getting all up close and personal, Kay freezes on the spot. She can't exactly blame Four. If you were a doll your whole life, you'd want to see what another person felt like too. Still...]

Hey! You silly moose, you gotta ask first!

[Ask? What is ask? She's never been told to ask before. This is puzzling. Four steps away and tilts her head at the other girl. She's not sure she understands.

Also what's this about silly moose?]

Hmm....can you speak?

[As if to demonstrate, she puts her fingers to the sides of her mouth, making her lips go up and down.]
