[That's a unicorn.

His horn is glowing as he magics his communicator into functionality. What could this majestic creature possibly want? He opens his mouth and out comes the mighty voice of JK Simmons.]

If there's anyone out there who can fashion an airtight suit of armor for an equine, you would be much obliged.

[White tosses his mane, looking absolutely fabulous. It sheds sparkles. He frowns even deeper... somehow.]

Make that a shave.

[Six huffs a laugh at the sparkling.]

You're every five year-old's dream right now, partner.

A damn liability, this stuff... unhygienic... what is this unicorn dandruff?

[He's muttering to himself.]

Well, far be it from me to disappoint the five year old girls of the world. So tell me, how proficient are you wit those claws? I might be ready for a fatal blow.

Getting rather good with them, but I don't think I'd be able to take down a unicorn. Not sure I'd want to.

[Beating his tail against the ground as he gives a wolfish smirk.]

[Knight eyes him with a tilt of his head. The banter's nice, something familiar amidst the chaos of turning into a goddamned unicorn, and it takes him back to a time before nanites and monsters and giant robots. Knight bowing forward, leveling his horn toward the wolf hybrid and scratching his hoof against the ground.]

Need some provocation, partner?

[Six stands up almost lazily, taking his time to stretch one wing and then the other.]

I don't see why you're getting so worked up. You could score yourself quite a nice place to stay with that look.

[Yes, he's teasing you, Knight.]

[Knight lifts his head and shakes his mane again, letting a few more sparkles fall out as he trots closer.]

Yes, well. I'm afraid rainbow dream castles aren't my style. Sorry to disappoint.

[Without thinking, Six lowers his front, tail wagging slightly in the familiar "let's play" position of all canines. Though to Six, "play" wasn't always safe.]

But it'd go so well with the sparkle dandruff.

[Knight recognizes the gesture as a play bow. Given the ridiculousness of the situation, his bearings are shaken, and it's enough for him to get caught up in both instinct and nostalgia. For a moment, the canine isn't a suboordinate, but simultaneously an attacking predator and a challenge from his partner. Knight stamps and digs at the ground with a hoof, lowering his horn once more. It's been a long time, Six, but he hopes you haven't forgotten you're not the only one who likes to play rough.]

I'll build you a doghouse in the bailey, how's that sound?

[He snorts. Your move, Six.]

[At that, instinct got the better of Six as he rushed towards Knight, barking and jaws open to attack. However, he wouldn't bite down. As much as the predator portion of him was looking at Knight and thinking "prey", the rest of him was thinking "play".]

[pasteurized]

[At that, Knight lunged, too -- rearing up when he reached Six out of instinct, trying to intimidate the predator. He came down and huffed, snorting as he scraped at the ground again.]

[Six scampers away from the hooves, falling once again into the play bow and giving another bark.]

oh no it's cute

[Knight chases again, craning his neck and reaching his nose to try and nudge Six playfully.]

You brought this on yourself.

[sixthdeadliest]

[And gonna gamely swipe at you with his paw pad of one foot as he rolls to one side with the nudge.]

[pasteurized]

[Knight snorts at the paw pad, letting it brush off him before snuffing at Six's slightly-exposed chest -- taking a submissive position, soldier?]

[He brings his jaws forward to gamely rake his teeth over your muzzle, Knight.]

[Unfortunately, it scrapes just enough to break the skin. It's just a little cut, but the taste of a drop of blood in Six's mouth makes him freeze.]

[pasteurized]

[Knight doesn't freeze when he feels the sting of an open wound -- he jerks back immediately, shaking his mane. The comical release of more glitter and sparkles does nothing to quell the intensity of the horror in his eyes as he slowly steps backwards, his gaze distant.]

[Six sneezes at the release of glitter, but mostly sticks his tail between his legs. He messed up, and he knows it.]

[After all, it only takes a scratch.]

[pasteurized]

[The animal instinct, the drive to play, that part of him that let himself be tempted into play was gone. He'd let himself get far too close, and now he may very well have lost everything for it. Knight turns away from Six, more to hide the fear in his eyes than anything else.

Now, for the first time... he gets to wait around and wonder when it's his turn to pop.]

At ease, soldier.

[The snark is gone from his voice.]

[Hearing "soldier" marked him as a subordinate, and Six lowers his head submissively.] I'm sorry, Knight.

[He'd lost control.]

[pasteurized]

[If this were anyone else, he'd be giving a stern lecture -- and by stern, he meant scathing. Rex, in particular, was familiar with that brand of reprimand. Back home, he was the authority -- and everyone had to answer to him for their mistakes.]

[But Six didn't need a lecture. He should know more than anyone the implications and possible repercussions of what just happened. As far as the situation was back home, the human race as they knew it may have very well gone extinct in that moment.]

[Knight turns, seeing Six bowing his head, tail tucked between his legs. He says nothing for a moment before turning away again.]

It's already done. When we've got thumbs again, we'll run more extensive tests to be sure. For now...

[For now, what? He'd had "in case of infection" plans, but there wasn't a sub-paragraph for "in case of infection while turned into a unicorn". Clearly he should prepare more thoroughly next time.]

Had an evil thought.

[If you'd had that particular plan in place already, Six very likely would've seen you institutionalized, partner.]

[However, Six feels deep shame. He lost control and here was both their punishment.]

[White shakes off again, mind still occupied. He doesn't look at Six when he speaks.]

Clearly our judgment is compromised. We could lose ourselves to our instincts and risk futher contamination if we're not careful. Go check on Rex, if you can find him.
