[Open to All][Liege works on his people skills.]
I must begin with stating that this incident you have all been suffering through had nothing to do with myself.
Nor, unfortunately, did it have to do with Alpha Trion or his pages.
[Though that would have made this problem much simpler if it were.]
As it stands my brethren and I have been compiling data on the nature of the transformative waves emanating from the Lambda. I believe we have determined a pattern.
If there are any who need an immediate solution, contact the one whose glyph you bear.
Otherwise, in a few days time it will no longer be an issue. In order to make the change back permanent--we'll be altering the energy as it enters Cybertron's atmosphere.
Jetfire, I will need your assistance for this.
If there are any others who are capable of space flight, as well--let me know.
[He won't be using you now, but that doesn't mean he can't make plans of his own.]

[Interesting. The question, however, interrupts Jetfire's curious examination of the emitter, and he looks up.]
... Thank you. And... er, yes. I have.
[With some small reservations.]
[action]
[Tinkering to his satisfaction, he looks up.] You're ready to go, I take it?
[He knows Jetfire would not have come otherwise, but he is confirming.] No angry jets this time?
[It did amuse him, at least.]
As have I. Tell me, have you heard the term 'Initiate' mentioned by any of my brethren before?
[action]
I am, yes... er. With the angry jet in question. [Jetfire smiles briefly and then shakes his helm - he'd rather not take that route, but if it's necessary... - straightening up at what Liege says next.]
... I can't say I have, no.
[action]
[Liege smiles just a bit, wry. He suspects Starscream would fit, though he also suspects it might be a little tight.]
Let us say it is a particular status, then.
A point at which a refugee has attracted enough attention from a Firstforged.
A point at which the Firstforged would like to offer them a portion of their power, in return for their continued relationship.
[He watches Jetfire carefully at this, wishing to gauge his reaction.]
[action]
He'll fit, if barely. Optimal size of someone in the cockpit is closer to your average mech.
[Take the simple things first. Power, in itself, isn't interesting, but the knowledge attached to it... But he's also well aware of the fact that in the pursuit of knowledge the method used sometimes matter and he's had... ah, hints, of where Liege might lean towards and that's closer to a method and philosophy he discarded quite a while ago. That doesn't mean it's still not... interesting.]
I, er... thank you. [Jetfire shifts his weight, changing his stance a little as he turns away from the emitter and looks up at Liege.] For the offer. I'm going to have to think about it.
[action]
[Starscream complained enough when everything was going well.]
Take your time. The offer remains open...
As do the samples from the hundreds of worlds I have visited. There may yet be something contained within them that would solve my problems--and yours.
[action]
I don't know, some vectors need to run their course to be useful, even if there's a lot of... ah, extra data to slough through.
[He doesn't quite manage to keep the fondness away from the exasperation before he straightens up at the mention of... all those samples. Terrible, Liege, that's what you are.]
That's... a not insignificant amount of worlds. Or data. [Despite the fact that yes, that's certainly... tempting, Jetfire merely nods.] Those would be valuable to go through for the knowledge alone, solutions in there or not.
[action]
[It's not hard to see.]
Why?
[He has to ask, because he's curious. If you're interested in Starscream, there must be something more to it.]
They would be enough to give you an advantage over every other scientist here--save me, of course.
[And Nexus, but who wanted to think about him.]
[action]
[Smiling a bit dryly, Jetfire shrugged, looking at the floor as he considered what and how much to actually say concerning Starscream.]
We've known each other for a long time. I worked with him during our days at the Academy, and I'm not quite... ah, self-sacrificing enough to spend all that time with someone as, frankly, difficult as Starscream is, merely to be able to take part in his admitted skill and intellect.
[Jetfire spread his hands, palms up, the expression on his faceplates more amused than anything else.]
I can't tell you how or why, but we did become friends, no matter what happened later.
[And they still were... and, admittedly, more.]
