[It's the dead of night, Mirage. Why aren't you asleep?

Well, to be honest, sleep hasn't come easy for the bot in quite some time. And with Sideswipe now rooming with him, he's found himself lying and staring up at the ceiling more often than not. It...wasn't a happy time, to say the least.

He's..had a couple things on his mind, too.

Leaving a note for the silver bot, he exits the Vectorian temple to get some air...and maybe some space. He didn't want Sideswipe hearing part of what he was about to broadcast.]

...Does anyone have ideas on how to fall asleep? I cannot seem to rest my optics tonight.

[Or other nights, but he'd rather not worry anyone. Unfortunately, Mirage's fatigue is slightly showing.]

[It was nice, talking like this. Even if it was with someone he would have poured blaster fire into at one point in his life.]

[To be truthful, Barricade still expects blaster fire. But he's learned to take company as he gets it... and Mirage is hardly bad company.]

Mm. As I recall, third place. But I spent the race keeping someone else from winning, which was my goal.

[Were Mirage in a less complex crisis, it'd be a thing.]

[That engine revs rather confidently.]

[He lets his engine roar in return.]

[An actual laugh erupts from the Ferrari, scooting forward a foot or two.]

[He rolls forward to match, flicking his rear view mirrors.]

[Those mirrors flick in return, almost too excited.]

[Barricade revs his engine again, sharply.]

Uno.

[And at that moment, the Ferrari's wheels scream, taking off into the dustland that was Cybertron. Can you keep up, Barricade?]

[Barricade is off shortly after, flashing spokes in his flails out of his back tires just long enough for automatic traction. No wheel-spinning or fish-tailing here. He guns his engine up to at least keep pace... for now.]

[Mirage's mirror slightly tilts as he watches the cop car keep pace with him, honestly quite impressed that he wasn't' already left in the dust. To let go like this...to really just drive. It felt nice...

The wind whips against his windshield, but Mirage couldn't care less. He wanted more, and revved his engine, pushing his engine further.]

Ahahaha! Not bad, polizia!

[Barricade has left his headlights off but his lightbar is stuttering between blue and red silently. He likes the menace it gives off, really. It feels good to open up his engine a bit.

It feels better keeping up with a sports car much younger than himself, wind battering against his rollbar and windshield.]

I can't just let you win!

[His engine roars in return as he starts pushing out more speed.]

[Mirage notices those red and blue lights flickering, and while you can't see it, he's smirking. Police cars were always such show offs. That's fine, he didn't need that. He was flashy enough on his own.]

It is inevitable, I'm afraid!

[And on a straight away, Mirage puts his all into it, zipping off on the plains of outer Haven.]

[You have your flash, Barricade has his (very literal) flash.]

That doesn't mean I'll make it easy!

[He keeps up as best he can for a while, but in the end the sports car is still quicker than him. Still, even if he's losing by a few lengths, he's not going to slow down.]

[They're both classy bots, aren't they?]

Ahaha! Good luck, then!

[He was...having fun. It was such an odd moment for him, to just let everything go. And even if he was beating Barricade. He could feel the 'competition'. It was something other than the weight of responsibility he'd had when the Autobots arrived.]

[Normally he'd be much more sore about losing; he hadn't enjoyed that side his race with Convoy and Clu. Certainly never enjoyed it when chasing an Autobot. It feels good to cut his engine open for something besides an emergency.]

[And now...it's time for play. Mirage cuts his engine, abruptly stopping as watching Barricade go forward. Only difference is, now he's going backward.

Can you keep the chase going, police car?]

[Barricade trains his sensors back on Mirage, and would be tilting his head in curiosity if he had one in this mode. Ahh... he sees. The sound of his engine hitches through a chuckle and he follows suit.

As if you could shake him, sports car.]

[The Ferrari can't help but chuckle, watching Barricade's confusion. And when the police car starts to follow, he makes a turn. Like a ballerina.

Someone's dancing with you.]

[Barricade chirps his siren a couple times in approval when he notices that, turning with him. It was hard enough to get his companions to dance with him in robot mode, let alone this way.

It's novel. But he will dance like he's done it forever.]

[Mirage's headlights flash in return, finishing the circle before pulling in. As if driving towards Barricade. It's slow, and gentle.]

Ahaha~

[The chirp of his siren is enough to say he's liking this.]

Now all we need is music, huh?

[Barricade's voice has a little teasing edge in it, but he is enjoying this as much as his siren suggested.

~~It's probably the sleep deprivation making them giddy.~~]

[~~No kidding, it would never end this well.~~

But he cant help but chuckle at Barricade's comment.]

I do not suppose your sirens count.

[Barricade laughs at that. Oh, Mirage.]

I never thought anyone would enjoy the sound of them enough for that~

[Considering they're technically for intimidation and such.]

Familiarity. It can do that to a bot.

[Besides, sirens meant you were going fast. And fast was...freedom.]
