[He's been here before. At least, that is what the Acolyte that greeted his arrival informed him, warning him that some of the "other refugees" might assume some level of familiarity with him. Past friendships forged, previous alliances made, beings encountered...]

[Perceptor remembers none of it.]

[His expression as he regards the Link is calm and inscrutable, though, despite how unsettling it is to find that his memories, if they were even his own memories, are... altered. Or missing. Or incomplete. Something.]

Do I have a laboratory here?

[Why beat around the bush, as Verity would have said. Well, she might have added a few... choice terms, perhaps, but, still. The sentiment remains.]

[He nods again, absently pulling his rifle around front to toy with the various controls small moving bits.]

Yes. We've found Theophany. Been and gone, and have just left Hedonnia. That is what I last remember.

[Rung's optics flicker curiously.]

I'm fairly certain we're from the same place...but the last thing I remember is being shot...

[He's just going to leave out the 'in the head' part because it's still uncomfortable to talk about even now.]

Did--what happened after that?

[Oh. Well, that's awkward. They may be from the same reality, but from different times.]

You got better.

[Perceptor offers a small, apologetic shrug.]

[Of course, that means, Rung, that Perceptor remembers you getting shot... in the head.]

And then we went on to Theophany and Hedonia.

{He's leaving out quite a bit... but he's feeling a little... overtalked. It's making him just a little nervous, actually.]

[Lucky for you, Perceptor, Rung's quite good at picking up on things like that and while he wants to know more--since you are one of the first from their timestream to know more--he's going to resist.

He's relieved to hear that he survived, though, and it shows.]

I see..that's...good to hear actually. Quite good. Thank you...for letting me know I mean. I appreciate it, Perceptor.

[That actually is a hint of a wan smile as Perceptor tilts his head to consider Rung.]

Of course.

[If all he remembered last was being shot on Turmoil's ship, Perceptor imagines that he would appreciate knowing that he makes it, too. Look at that, Rung; you two have quite a bit more in common, now.]

[Well, except for the whole, they were trying to rescue you when you got shot, part, as opposed to having been abandoned on the floor.]

Don't be angry at Rewind for dragging you to Swerve's bar during your recovery. [He huffs a sound that almost might be part of a chuckle.] It will help. I promise.

Dragging me...

[Rung pauses then shakes his head, a muffled laugh escaping him]

That sounds rather typical actually, so I suppose I shouldn't complain. It could have been worse.

[He smiles softly, unable to help himself.]

It really is good to see you, Perceptor.

[Perceptor's hands still against his rifle, surprised at Rung's admission. Good? To see him?]

[Rung has always been, if nothing else, courteous.]

It's... good to see you, as well, Rung.

Have you been here long?

[There's also a part of Rung that is generally nice to everyone. And you are a member of the Lost Light Crew, Perceptor; someone he's known for awhile.

Familiarity is key for Rung. And..it helps that you were close to Kup as well.]

Awhile now. Forever it seems.

[Ah, yes. Kup. His... responsibility and his failure. He never should have agreed to Prowl's plan.]

No one has found a means to return yet? ...well, one that they can recall.

[Because... yeah.]

Unfortunately no, not that I'm aware of at least. Many individuals leave this place but..we have no idea where they go.

[You should know that look, Rung. It's the "Perceptor has a puzzle to solve" look.]

[Oh yes, he's quite familiar with that look.]

You might want to speak with the other you that is here, along with a few others that seem to be exploring and researching the area.
