 [Rewind was able to deal with a lot of things lately. Snuff films? Whatever. A new Cybertron? Okay. No Chromedome for awhile? That's fine. PROWL? Slightly less happy but still doing okay. But no. It's Rung's death that is the kicker. And the worst part of it is, Rewind had it ingrained into his database.  It didn't make it any easier to accept sometimes.

He was a tough little bot, though, who had seen his fair share of events. Experienced a few as well. So he's not going to outwardly show it. But he'll be huddled up in his room, in the dark, flickering with his camera, and using the wall as a projection screen.

Everything was Rung from their time on the Lost Light.

[It was like Rewind was a doll Chromedome had just scooped up. He doesn't flinch, or even act surprised, keeping his visor (and camera) focused on the images in front of him.

Maybe it hurt more because Rung couldn't fight. Didn't have the personality to, let alone the body. And in each clip he plays, Rung is smiling, or at least polite.

It didn't make sense. Rung was always that one constant in the background. So much that it fried his database in a basic search. This couldn't be the way he went out.]

[The images of Rung seem to blur in Chromedome's mind as he goes through the investigations again in his head. The state of the body, the toxin, the place he was found, even the network post. He figured at this point they were gathering enough to nab someone very soon.

Whoever that someone is, he hopes they pay dearly for it.]

If I could name one mech in the entire Haven who deserved this the least...

He never did have great luck, did he.

[Rewind can't read minds, but that last thought of Chromedome's is synonymous with his.]

[Chromedome almost says that it's police business, but he realizes that he doesn't care.]

The killer used a unique sort of toxin to kill him, and was small enough to fit into his mouth and claw his way out of his throat. The markings make it obvious that it wasn't an organic, but whoever did it had claws.

If you have the time, you could go back through the link and look for anyone who looks suspicious I guess.

[Rewind leaned against Chromedome instinctively, thinking this over.]

And it WASN'T organic? I can't think of something THAT small...that's not organic.

[He pauses, looking up at Chromedome for the moment. And it totally causes the film to play on the ceiling.]

No problem. I'll do it ASAP.

[Action]

I'm counting on you Rewind.

[He smiles to himself and pulls the smaller bot a little closer to him.]

It's nice that you have so much footage of Rung.

I won't let you down, Domey.

[He huddles into that bot's frame, making himself comfortable.]

Funny, it's never intentional. He's just...always there.

I guess you don't appreciate how much he's around until he's not.

Luckily for Rung he has you to remember him.

[And he reaches up, nuzzling Chromedome slightly.]

[The touch is greeted with a nuzzle back. Ah Rewind, what would he do without you.]

[He's starting to feel a bit better about it already. It always helps to have Chromedome there. To have someone to lean against.]
