[Waking up had been odd. His head was swimming and everything just felt off for some reason, but he couldn't quite place what was going on. Rung didn't remember returning to Prima's temple so that, in itself, was throwing him off considering the last thing he remembered was...

Well, he'd been out and about in Haven.

Sitting up slowly with a hand to his head, Rung looked around as he tried to make sense of things, growing even more confused by his presence here because, as of late, the only temple he'd been recharging in was Alpha Trion's. His optics narrowed a bit on the floor as he dug through his memories, trying to remember--

Wait.

Pain. He remembered pain but not the source. It was fuzzy but..

His hand lowered slowly, vents cycling softly as his optics dimmed now. He'd..died...hadn't he? That would be the only thing that made sense but how?

Glancing around the room after a long moment, Rung spotted his comm device on the makeshift desk and slowly eased off his bed to make his way over to it. Once he had the device in hand he found himself hesitating, staring at it as he debated his options before switching it to audio only, vents cycling heavily as his optics dimmed.]


Would..anyone be able to fill me in on what..I can't seem to remember properly?

[Seeing it was another thing. This wasn't like watching someone make a recovery--this was something much more.]

Disoriented.

Tired. Very tired...but I'm alive and that's what matters I suppose.

You wouldn't mind if I took you out for a drink, would you? Just to celebrate the old 'I'm alive. Again!' routine?

[Rung can't help but smile, a grateful sort of look flickering through his optics.]

I wouldn't mind that at all, Skids.

Good because it's happening. It can be a little party; invite whoever you want.

People you're comfortable around.

[This has made Skids feel a hundred times better already--and he's not even the one he's trying to cheer up.]

I guess no one can say you've been out of the action now, huh?

Alright, I will.

[His smile had grown a bit at that, the idea of a..party..for him? It was odd but nice.

And then that smile falters some--saddening in a way.]

No..I suppose they can't.

We'll have it tomorrow night, okay?

[He was pretty sure he could get the Hub for that time.]

[Of course, now he's extra worried about you. He can't imagine it's easy to take your own death well.]

Do...you have someone you can talk to?

[A shrink for the shrink. Who knew?]

That sounds perfect to me, Skids.

[It would help take his mind off things.]

[It sounds like you need it. A lot. And he's going to make sure that it's fun.]

And if that doesn't work, you can always have Rewind record you, and then play it back so you can listen subjectively to yourself.

[Rung's optics flicker as he stares at the other for a second before he cracks a small smile then a laugh escapes him, the therapist shaking his head as his look grows fond.]

I'll keep that suggestion about Rewind in mind, Skids, and your first offer as well.

[His smile warms.]

I do appreciate it.
