[Video | Liege's Temple ] Joint Post w/ Prowl + Chromedome
Chromedome, shine that light onto the door lock.
[ There’s a lot of shifting and plinking as whatever lock was just referred to gets tinkered with. Inside the closet, it was difficult to see what was going on with the only light being provided originating from the energon lines of whomever was inside. ]
Yeah yeah...
[Chromedome attempts to shine his light the best he can around Prowl, who happens to be seated firmly on his lap. Though he’s always known this, he can’t help but notice, right now in particular, how big and heavy Prowl is. This is not a nice discovery to make when said person is tied to you.]
You know, I think your feet are taking up half our closet space.
[ Not ideal lighting, but it was something Prowl can work with. Optics narrow at the magnetic mechanism sitting in between them and freedom, determined to get it to unlock. ]
Stop moving. This is delicate enough without my hands being jostled.
[ Whatever Prowl was referring to was probably miniscule. An extra fidget or shift as the light was fixed into place. It was simply amplified while they were pressed together like this. There’s a slight whirr as the missile casing on his back shifts to get out of the way of the light. They may or may not find a comfortable spot in Chromedome’s face. ]
Hey
[Chromedome tries not to move Prowl more than necessary, despite the painful thump in the face he just received.]
I’m not really a finger pointer, but I can’t help but feel like this is your fault somehow..
[ Both missiles stay in place, comfortably pressed back. ]
Hardly. I’m not the one who-
[ Something whines before breaking with the tiniest of metallic rings. Oh. ]
[ oh. ]
[ He’s just going to doublecheck that what just happened didn’t happen brb.]
[Nope.]
[It just happened.]
...The lock is broken.
...You’re not serious....
I’m always serious.
...
We should probably call for help then.
[Chromedome would have tried picking it with his needles, but there’s no way he can reach the door while he’s currently tied up in Prowl’s cables. Desperate times call for desperate measures.]
...Make it an audio broadcast.
[ This is already embarrassing as it was, and now it just got worse by several orders of magnitude. Namely because people outside of him and Chromedome now had to know about this. Why. ]
...Private. To Perceptor.
Hang on, let’s see if I can even reach mine.
[The communicator is jostled a little before it’s moved to show a slightly flustered looking Chromedome. Upon seeing the little light on, Chromedome simply stares at it for a moment.]
Hey Prowl, I have some good news and some bad news.
[ The missile right next to Chromedome’s face shifts a little. ]
We’ve been broadcasting this whole time, haven’t we?
Yes we have.
[ The link now gets to bear witness to the loudest and most exasperated Prowl sigh anyone has ever heard in recent history. ]
Of course.
[Chromedome isn’t nearly as embarrassed as Prowl is. Though he’s a little mortified, he’s sure he’ll look back on this a week from now and laugh about it. But right now he has to get them out of this closet.]
If you can’t tell, Prowl and I are in a little bit of a situation. We’re, ah, stuck in a closet in Liege’s temple, and wouldn’t mind a little help. Good luck in the maze. First to find us gets drinks courtesy of Prowl.
[Nevermind that drinks are technically free, it’s the thought that counts.]
...Rewind I can explain.
[Maybe.]

[Action]
What happened on Earth?
[Action]
[He was fairly certain his silence just gave away more than anything he could have said. Something happened on Earth. Not just something big, something personal. The answer he gives is as cold and official as the cover stories he presents to his subordinates.]
The end of the war. I was there when the Surge finally began to get pushed back. The natives got tangled in the battle, so naturally, they were fairly hostile once the fighting began to subside. Maintaining cover was an absolute necessity. I was captured, among other things.
[Action]
And?
[He quietly urges Prowl to keep going, to keep telling him this story. It feels important somehow.]
[Action]
[But they had an hour to spend in this closet. Sitting here. So that tactic wouldn't quite work. Chromedome knew just as well as him what he'd try to do.]
I'd deluded myself into getting attached to the native species. A simple error in judgement.
[Spoken rather clinically. It was an unimportant mistake, nothing more.]
[Action]
So you cared about one of them and... they betrayed you.
[Is that right? Because if it is, Chromedome allows himself to feel some sympathy for his friend. The war hasn't been easy on either of them.]
[Action]
No. I made the mistake of interacting with a member of an alien species without any proper back-up plan.
[In other words, exactly that. He'd let his emotions get in the way.]
I don't intend to do so again.
[Action]
[Ah Prowl, sometimes he remembers that you're not as sparkless as you seem.]
It might happen again whether you like it or not. These things sneak up on you.
