Some religions, at least the ones in my world, worship gods that promise the same things, but in the end, it is up to the people to provide and protect themselves.

Is it really living if we are being controlled, if our will is taken away? That would be the only way to prevent those who enjoy killing from committing such crimes in the first place, but then we will be nothing more then puppets. The First Forge may not be all powerful, but they will at least let us make our own choices.
