Hello Haven. I'm back now. I apologize for my absence, it was not intentional.

Sorry to ask this but, would anyone care to update me on recent events? Particularly from the Law Committee? I would appreciate it greatly.

[ He knows about Vandal, and a few of the others that have gone missing, which likely accounts for his glum mood.]

Also, committee members, I think we should put serious consideration into mapping not just the Haven but the surrounds. And clearly mark hazardous areas.

To everyone else... Please, if you're considering going exploring alone, regardless of skill level, do reconsider. Everyday we discover new hazards that persist on this world.

[ Wing might have taken down six reanimated mech frames on his own, maybe. But with the energy drain? There was no chance. ]

And well, I have a bunch of books, mostly human ones, that I don't need anymore. [ More specifically he needs to make room in his...room for someone else's stuff. ] Would anyone like them? I don't want them thrown away.

Ah, well, they seemed to fit the description I think? The frames of several long passed mechs reanimated and attacked me.

They weren't glowing that I recall. Optics though... [ He thinks for a moment, then shakes his helm. ] I don't remember. They jumped me pretty fast. I didn't get a look at all of them, only the two I had to go through to get away...

[ Wing's faced much greater odds and not been daunted but this seems to disturb him a great deal. ]

[Barricade's just had his fill of the undead. And every time they show up the people he's closest to get hurt. They are bad juju and he doesn't want them here.]

Yeah, that sounds about right. Of all the things to happen here...

Well, if they weren't glowing then it wasn't dark energon, which is good. That scrap... ain't to be messed with, under any circumstances. They weren't in that village we found on that 'camping trip', were they? Where Drift picked up that ghost?

[Because if it was, they might ought to talk to someone that knows more... or take a strike team out and destroy that whole area.]

[ So has Wing, and that was only a half dozen of them. ]

They were definitely mindless. Except... I don't know, it seemed like they didn't want me to go deeper into the cave.

[ Now he gets to look sheepish. ]

Actually... It was. I went back with a scanner trying to investigate the ghosts. There was a strange energon reading deeper into the cave, past what we'd explored.

And well. One of them looked like Overclock.

[Barricade folds his hands in front of his mouth briefly, shuttering his optics.]

So mindless beyond having a certain purpose. Definitely sounds like one type I've known, but the force driving them was... very much alive. Though it could just be basic subroutines firing off... I've never actually gotten into the processors of the things before so I couldn't say.

Overclock was in there? It must've been the last group that came through.

Has this been mentioned to any if the First Forged yet? I've warned Alpha Trion that this sorta thing might happen, maybe he'd know more about what's causing this here.

[ Stop that Barricade, your freak out is going to become contagious as this rate. Wing's flight panels rattle anxiously. ]

So wait, there was a force behind them? Someone guiding them? [ Now there's a terrifying thought. ] I don't think getting near these things is advisable. In fact I know so. I felt tired going in--I thought it was just the traveling--but they jumped me and it was like I could barely move or fight. Everything was an effort. The more of them there were, the closer they got, the weaker I felt.

I think it was them, yes. Drift got a better look at them than I did though.

No, not yet. I...I'm still trying to sort things out for myself. [ He doesn't want to think about it much, to be perfectly honest, but it still haunts him a little.]

[He can't help it, zombies do this to him. And the continued descriptions don't make it any better, because it just sounds more and more familiar to what he knew.]

Not necessarily, but... back on the station I was on, before I got here, someone was. The thing is... you're describing symptoms of dark energon radiation. Or something close, anyway. Which probably means there's more in that hole than zombies, and everyone needs to steer clear of it. Way clear. Unless they're planning on planting charges and sealing the place up.

I'm. Sorry. If I'm worrying you. I'd just hoped... we could avoid something like this here.

[Especially something like those. He still perfectly recalls the worst incidents from Sacrosanct and the thought of it happening here terrifies him.]

They did seem to be guarding something. We think, anyway. Sealing it up seems like a good idea but... [ Weren't they trying to purge this world of corruption so Primus could arrive? It suddenly feels like an overwhelming task. ]

I. I can't. I have to tell someone. Even if it's nothing.

[The choice of words is strange, the shift in his tone is sudden, as if getting an abrupt reminder of an old lesson learned the hard way. ]

It's a substance out of one specific dimension. Wheeljack and Bulkhead would likely know more than me - it's from there, but... it's called the Blood of Unicron. Weakens living mechs that come into contact with it, for the most part... and reanimates the dead. And the living that are brave or stupid enough to try to use it have a habit of going insane.

[Or worse, in the case he saw. Convoy proclaiming his true name and allegiances and entreating him to join him... was not something that needs to be repeated. To anyone.]

Sealing would be good if that didn't mean it was stuck here then. But I don't know how to purge it.

The living dead is never nothing. Especially with what happened to you.

What if this 'dark energon' has something to do with what happened to the past refugees? [ He doesn't want a repeat. ] Have you shared any of this with the First Forged?

I know, all too well now. I just can't sit here and assume someone else is going to do something about this while I recover. Someone else could be harmed while I waste time.

I didn't believe it myself, but it's dangerous in the wrong hands whether it's from Unicron or not.

I haven't. They haven't asked and I wouldn't know which one to tell in the first place. [That, and he'd delivered enough tidings of woe from his own universe to Solus. He didn't want to compound the whole solar harvester-never ending war thing with something that that, and not so soon after losing Convoy.]

Recovering isn't wasting time. But if you insist on doing something, even just going to the First Forged, I'm going with you. Given that I'm a medic and am far too qualified in matters of the undead.

[Besides, he can't just let someone run off without backup. Or let their backup run off without backup in Wing and Drift's case.]

I really, really don't like the sound of that.

I wouldn't either, so I'd start with my own. I have a rapport with Vector at least. Would you like to help me detail a report we can submit? Drift too. Then if an audience is necessary for further inquiry we can all attend.

[Oops maybe Magnus has been rubbing off on him. REPORTS instead of talking, what?]

I feel like I need to. My diagnostics say I'm fine, the weariness is in my processor. [He sighs.] But more than that, I don't want my hesitation to mean greater losses. I learned that the hard way.

[Having backup is a thing Wing is really starting to treasure now. Especially of the combat medic variety.]

As long as we haven't been passing directions out to the other folks here, it's at least a little safer. So is advising people to travel in groups, if those things decide to start leaving the hole they crawled out of.

No, I haven't been. I don't think anyone knows except our group and those in the rescue party. I've made a start here, trying to discourage people from traveling alone. Hopefully they'll listen.

[Wing isn't ready to do that yet, but he has a sinking feeling that he'll need to soon.]

Hey, it's the least I c'n do. The fewer people have t'go through things like that, the better. And luckily for you, I happen to write excellent reports.

[He's been on too many missions before; he's kind of gotten used to explaining everything. Even undead horrors.]

Claws crossed that they will. Or at least they'll write it off for now; I wouldn't be surprised if some of the warriors took this as an opportunity to go punch things.

[Until they can get a plan worked out it would be best to keep them far, far away from the place.]
