[Video] Glyphs and checking in with a...not!friend?

Anyone else have their Glyph change colors?

Well, not change, exactly, but . . .

[The jet shifts to make sure his shoulder is visible to the camera.  His Glyph is (still) a vivid magenta, but now it's outlined in black.]

The Glyph is Alpha Trion's, I know that, but what does the black mean?  If anything...

[There's no bite to that, just an observation. No, what kind of surprises him in a sense is the mech taking in a Decepticon. NOT! that he's going to complain, of course.]

Well, he is Alpha Trion, after all. He was a pretty important guy back home. Where I'm from I mean.

Yeah?  Huh.  I know he was around back when, but he disappeared early in the war.  Went underground or something.

What is yours like?  The one from your timestream.  What did he do?

Disappeared? Did anyone look for him?

[And then his expression melts into a thoughtful one.]

He..was a great teacher and friend. He taught me a lot of stuff, even if I really didn't want to be on guard duty for him at first. The sheer amount of stuff he knew was just mind blowing.

[Smokescreen grins faintly, lost in thought as he's looking at TC on the screen but not really at the same time.]

I couldn't have asked for a better mentor, outside of Optimus, in the long run.

Mentor? Huh. So was he an archivist like this one?

Yeah, he was the head archivist in Iacon. I was assigned to him there, just as the war was getting into full swing.

Interesting. How long has the war been going on for you? Have you been conscious for all of it?

Not very long. It had been started to brew for awhile but the full fledged war came after I graduated from Elite Guard academy.

[He pauses then glances down.]

Not..all of it..no.

. . . there's no shame in that. At least . . . not depending on how it happened.

[That's his stance . . . since he wasn't awake for all of his either.]

What happened? [because now he's just curious]

...The Hall of Records was attacked. I was all set to guard Alpha Trion with my life if I had to but I was knocked out. When I woke up, I was on board a Decepticon ship. I managed to sneak off and steal a pod to escape on.

[His doorwings twitch a bit.]

I was in stasis after that, for most of the war. At least until I landed on Earth.

[There's a wry, almost rueful grin at that.]

Ridiculously long stasis and winding up on Earth seems to be a common experience.
