[So he'd made it. He'd made it, he was alive, and he was still here. He could see the distant temples from the mountain he stood on, some ancient and run-down building in ruins behind him. Despite the dilapidation, there is a very new 'STARSCREAM FOR OVERSEER' poster tacked onto the wall within his view...the perfect place for a high-flying, far-ranging jet to test out non-permanent adhesives without anyone noticing.]

So.

[He begins by reaching out, aiming, and completely blasting the wall and accompanying poster.]

Are you telling me there actually will be elections?

[He's not sure if he finds that backward or progressive. But don't worry Barricade...you might notice he's having to carefully restrain his own emotions here. Small talk is a good way to NOT discuss...other things.]

Oh, we've already been voting on the viability of law committee members, Sparrow. I doubt actual elections're far behind.

[Barricade is making a point of carefully avoiding... other subjects. This is probably the best he could hope for as far as safe subjects. Well. This and maybe one other, that he can put a bit of a teasing tone into.]

I can see my way back. Making the flight, on the other hand...

Mixed Decepticons and Autobots, actually. One or two Neutrals maybe. And several humanoids as well.

[Barricade is fairly certain that half of the Haven would run against him just to keep Starscream out of office. He's even tempted to.]

Here I figured you'd've worked out flight by now. Unless it's a matter of fuel reserves.

Who else is on the ballot for this...'Overseer' position?

[Depending on what comes up, Starscream might be his best pick.]

Understanding flight and desiring to jump off of a mountain are two entirely different things.

[It didn't mean he wouldn't do it. He would. He'd just never felt comfortable in the air the way he'd felt underground.]

Optimus Prime, more than likely. There ain't been official announcements for it, yet.

[Barricade will be interested to see how things go, if nothing else. He's never actually seen an election before. Not the way this one would be, anyway.]

Which is exactly why I keep all four of my tires to the ground. Not all of us were meant for flight.

[This world was becoming organized...which meant his likelihood of operating in the dark was getting more difficult.]

There is one, and new arrivals - from your timestream by the looks of them - keep bolstering them.

[Barricade is just waiting for his previous backing of the idea to bite him in the aft. It's coming, he's sure.

And the mention of craters just makes him think this will end as a disastrous version of 'Find the Lame Bird'. He's half-tempted to ask what the prize would be this time.]

Now that doesn't sound like it'd be helpful t'you at all. Perhaps flyin' in ain't the best idea.

Do you have any idea of the numbers? Autobots/Decepticons/Neutrals? Or what is keeping the agency afloat? Where they are getting their supplies?

I've wasted enough time climbing. [He hadn't had much choice, since his communicator had been out of range and he'd had no other way of pinpointing his location.] If I cannot leave the nest now, then what sort of Sparrow would I be?

[He's in a good enough mood to joke, at least.]

Frankly I couldn't say, but I know the majority of the cops are either Autobots or unaffiliated Terran-made robots, and a few organics. Most of what's keeping their agency afloat has been goodwill and not getting on Megatronus's bad side more than they already have. Presumably they're getting their supplies where we all are; the Junk Pile.

And a group of Wreckers has been forming up. I've signed on as their medic.

[Partially because he likes Wheeljack, partially because it will keep him busy... and partially to keep his own optic on them.]

[He chuckles.] Well, you are a bit big to hitch a ride on my shoulder, now. Just don't get so many injuries on the way in I have t'wag my claw at you. Because I will.

[Barricade is more than happy to joke a little.]

Then are they endorsed by the Firstforged?

[That was an important question. He knew how much trickier it was to go against an occupying force in power.]

Hm. [The fact that there's another group, though...that shows promise.] What do the Wreckers claim to do here?

They are, in a manner of speaking. Depends on the FirstForged; some prefer to be more hands-on in dealing punishment to their Glyphed.

[It was fascinating to see the the Police Force try to go toe-to-toe with the FirstForged over arrests and convictions, really.]

Same thing Wreckers seem t'do in most dimensions. They take jobs too dangerous for other groups to handle. I assume it ends mostly with explosions.

[Barricade does have a thing for finding - and keeping - information, true.]

Mm, that would be rude of you indeed. Helpful fella, that one.

Punishment. [Now that was interesting...] Punishment for what?

And are the wreckers similarly sanctioned?

[So many factions. It was going to be harder to get a toe-hold in.]

Murder, primarily. [He wags a claw lightly.] No killing other Glyphed. There's few enough of us as it is, and with occasional encroachments from... well. Monsters. We need everyone up and running.

That I couldn't say; no one asked the First Forged f'r their blessing on the organization... and I doubt the Wreckers care for it either way.

I never asked their Captain about that situation, he just promised t'keep me busy.

[Work was Barricade's major concern even when his claws were already full with it.]

That might be a sentiment I could agree with.

[He wouldn't have any chance of returning home if he didn't have mechs to enlist, after all.]

So in theory, there'd be nothing to stop us from making our own organization?

I surely hope so. It's difficult to recruit the dead, I've noticed.

In theory. Aside from the usual 'all Megatrons are evil' sentiment, of course. Even some of the 'Cons will likely be dubious, from what I know.

[And don't think Barricade missed that 'us'.]

That does not surprise me. However, it all depends on how competent the other organization is...doesn't it? Those who get things done should make the rules.

This is true. Of course, there hasn't exactly been an organization to challenge the law-makers. Not yet, that is.

It might not be a bad idea to form one. Quietly, for now.

You've got a lot t'contend with, even if they don't have all that revolting paperwork here. And getting out is hardly as easy as applying for an exit visa and waiting a few dozen centuries.

And you'll have the FirstForged's order to contend with too.

[Not that Barricade thinks Megatron can't handle all of that. He came back from death and zombification, after all.]
