[His body lurches forward at the swat]

[He doesn't know any blue motorcycles...]

Then sit down.

Yeah, I don't think she's from your world.

[But he sits down, looking a little too overexcited for this. QUALITY TIME WITH DADBOT.]

What makes you say that?

[He parks his ironbutt down, too, and holds his arm out, elbow resting on his knee.]

She's uh...rounder.

[Does that make sense?]

Now let's get started!

[He takes Ironhide's hand, making his arm in the same resting position as his, a determined look on his face.]

... Rounder.

[No, it doesn't make sense at all.]

Brace yourself, kid.

[He starts out slowly, pressing PJ's arm toward the ground.]

Yeah, you know. Not as blocky.

[It really doesn't...

And when Ironhide starts pressing, PJ immediately feels the strain, pressing back with all he's got.]

[arnhaid]

Uh huh. Gotcha... kind of.

[Not really at all.]

[He doesn't press hard. Doing this too quickly would be a nasty blow to the kid's pride. So he lets him push -- watching him idly.]

action;

[kungfugeek]

[It's doing wonders for his pride, Ironhide. Hahaha and you thought he couldn't handle it. He continues to press, a smile widening on his face. It's just enough of a challenge for him right now.]

See? Told ya!

[arnhaid]

[While he's not pressing back all that hard, he's not giving in, either. Gradually, PJ will find himself shoving against what might as well be a brick wall.]

[He's quickly noticing this, too. His arm seems to be shaking from the effort, looking up at Ironhide in a mix of irritation and admiration. More of the latter than the former, though.

This guy...was strong.]

[And Ironhide... keeps right on sitting there, holding his arm still.]

You done yet?

[He's not giving up just yet. That arm continues to struggle against it, putting his all into it.]

No!

Suit yourself.

[Very slightly, he starts pushing back against PJ's arm.]

[Wait, how did this end up going south? His face gets slightly more determined, putting his all into it, despite how it's consistently going against him.

It's a losing battle, but he's not going down without a fight.]

[Slowly. Very slowly. He presses harder, keeping his grip on PJ's hand firm.]

If you start to hurt, we quit. No straining yourself.

[PJ can feel his strength starting to give out, but he's still trying to keep himself afloat. To fight back. There's some strain, but he wouldn't admit to it.]

I...I have this.

[Honey, you're losing.]

[arnhaid]

Kid.

[And just like that, he stops. He holds his hand, and arm, perfectly still, staring at the young bot.]

You don't. No straining yourself.

[And he notices, pausing himself--but looks up.]

I'm not!

[Liar, you just don't want to look weak in front of your hero.]

[He lets go, stretching his arm out.]

[arnhaid]

Kid. I said I wasn't going to hurt you. And I'm not gonna.

So if we're gonna do this, you're gonna take it slow. Understand me?

[It's hard for someone like PJ to admit, and for a moment, he averts his gaze from Ironhide. As if slightly embarassed.]

Fine..

action;

[arnhaid]

[Scrap.]

[That's not what he wanted to have happen. He scrubs at his face.]

... Y'did pretty good. For the first time.

[HE'S TRYING...]

[And, in a flash, his head snaps up, gazing at the larger bot in awe.]

I did?

[He just wants approval!]

Yeah, you did...

[Wow, that was a switch.]

Really think I'd have said it if I didn't think it?

I guess not. So I really had it at a match? For my first time?

[Look at that smile form. Ironhide, if you didn't consider him adopted before, he is now.]
