[Perceptor's been trying to keep his head down, metaphorically speaking, since (re)arriving. He works best these days when he can sit back and observe for a while before making his move.]

[Unfortunately, he is still lacking a lab, and there's really only so much observation the scientist can make before even he gets bored. Those who know him best may note a certain air of restlessness about him as he cues up the link.]

[To everyone else, he looks the same as always - stoic with a faint echo of cross.]

[Rung's expression turns a bit sheepish, knowing he's caught.]

I have some things I need to do to my office, security wise, but it's nothing I can't handle. That's what I meant by 'I think'. It's nothing, really.

If you have not completed what you wish to accomplish before I return from foraging, I will assist you, Rung.

[He's no Red Alert, but Perceptor does know his way around a circuit now and again.]

I...[He pauses, expression melting into a softer one as he nods a bit.] Thank you, Perceptor. I would appreciate that.

[Not it's Perceptor's turn for his expression to soften.]

As would I, Rung.

[And then he nods once, and reaches to cut the link.]

Ah--Perceptor.

[He knew the other was about to cut the link but he's just going to stop you right there for a moment.]

...It really is good to see one of Kup's Wreckers here...I know this place--this Cybertron--isn't home for any of us but..I'm glad you're here, all the same. If that makes sense.

[Because like him, you knew Kup. And well he always did like you, despite what Prowl made you do.]

[Perceptor pauses, mid-reach.]

[He listens stoically; one of Kup's Wreckers.]

I didn't realize that you were so close.

[He shakes his head - not at Rung, but at himself. He's jumping at shadows now, and Rung doesn't deserve this. It doesn't make sense, not really, but he appreciates the sentiment anyway.]

Thank you. I'm glad that you're safe, Rung.

He..is actually the reason I worked with the Wreckers. We had known each other for quite some time prior and he asked if I would do him the favor of helping him out.

[A sad smile touches his face before it's gone, those shadows of the past getting pushed to the back of his mind.]

If you need anything, please don't hesitate to ask, Perceptor. I know this post was meant for you to offer your assistance to others but...just keep it in mind.

[After all, it's common knowledge that to be a Wrecker, one had to be utterly mad. Why bother having someone with Rung's skills work with any of them?]

[Perceptor considers Rung for a long moment. Rung might be able to offer another perspective on his... quandary. Or at least a sympathetic audio. If he can bring himself to expose his spark in such a way.]

[But Rung is bound by his own sense of honor, if not professional courtesy, to keep what he is told in confidence. And Rung... already knows enough of Perceptor's most damning secrets.]

[Perceptor slowly nods.]

I will... keep it in mind.

[He's glad you will, Perceptor. Because, believe it or not, Rung considers you a friend and worries.

[Well, there are so few of them here, after all. Not as if they can truly afford to be terribly choosy.]

[You have your work cut out for you, Rung; Kup hurt him more badly than anyone but Drift realizes. Fitting, isn't it?]

[But Rung's request, makes him pause... a little surprised. And touched.]

So he understands. And will do what he can to help.

The response makes him smile softly, optics dimming--softening as he nods.]
