WARNING: there be violence here! In the form of frenzy beating the shit out of Rung. Order of events is Rung made this post then went to see Prowl. Then stopped in at the games to pick up his dragon. Remembered he had something for Kagerou and went to Prima's temple to get it and was jumped.
----
[Rung's been pretty busy as of late, keeping to his office as he deals with a lot of stuff that's been going on and working with those that need his help.
But now..he has a few things that he needs to take care of.]
I just wanted to let everyone know that I will not be in my office at all today. If you need me for anything, feel free to contact me via a private comm.
[He smiles a bit sheepishly.]
I figured it might be best to actually get out of my office for a bit.
[LOCKED TO PROWL]
I hope you don't mind but I need to speak with you on a matter and will be stopping by shortly.
[Not that he'd really care all that much if you did mind, Prowl.]

[LOCKED TO PROWL]
I hope you don't mind but I need to speak with you on a matter and will be stopping by shortly.
[Not that he'd really care all that much if you did mind, Prowl.]
action
[Not really.]
Rung, this is a rather inappropriate time and place to discuss details of a mission that happened a long time ago.
Ironfist was needed and he agreed to his task. His death was regrettable, but it was a risk he voluntarily acknowledged to when he signed on. I don't see the issue.
Re: action
[Sitting up straight again, Rung outright frowns now but there's a flicker of almost pity in his gaze. ]
When did winning start outwieghing the importance and preservation of lives?
action
[The datapads are put away when it becomes evident enough that the orange bot wouldn't leave until he got some sort of answer to gnaw on.]
[Prowl stands up, wordlessly, and goes to the entrance door.]
Since we became entangled in a war.
A war with a six million year stalemate, with no regard to the destruction it dealt to our home planet. Or other planets, for that matter.
[Winning meant ending that stalemate. And he'd be more than willing to sacrifice a few Autobots to ensure that the destruction stopped.]
Re: action
It's hard not to pity--to feel bad for someone like that.]
So the standstill is what drives you to continue harming others? To continue the destruction? You do realize that everything you do hurts Cybertron more, don't you? Instead of focusing on how to fix things while keeping tabs on everything else going on, you're so focused on completely eradicating those that aren't Autobots that you're making things just as bad as they use to be.
You aren't fixing anything, Prowl. You're making the rifts between Autobots larger and causing those that don't bare our mark to hate us even more.
action
[He turns around to face the therapist, silhouetted against the light coming from the door's small window.]
I don't expect you to understand. You have too much empathy to ever be a tactician. But no, surprisingly enough, I don't want to eradicate every non-Autobot.
[Prowl continues his circle of the room, this time stopping at the single decoration in the entire space. It was insignificant, almost unnoticeable, which was more unfortunate accident than anything, but it was there. A quiet reminder of what, in the end, he was trying to protect. A simple gift from Flonne: the folded paper flowers.]
I want to bring a sense of peace. A sense of order.
action
Missed those little details.
But as his gaze followed after Prowl, he took in the sight of the paper flowers, a flicker--a brief flicker--of surprise in his gaze.
And then his optics softened a bit.]
There are ways to go about achieving peace that don't require the violence and the deception, Prowl. I know you're aware of that but somewhere along the way, you lost any shred of emotion that you have--or at least, that's what you want everyone to believe.
[Rung stands now, but makes no move to approach the other, folding his arms over his chest as his vents cycle softly.]
You are brilliant, Prowl, there is no doubting that. And if anyone can keep the peace and make things work the way they should, it's you. But you can't keep doing this.
action
[For all his previous abrasiveness, Prowl never actually hated Rung. Not like he hated Metalkhawk. Not like he hated the NAILs. Or Spike.]
[The therapist had always been more of a simple obstacle. An annoyance that occasionally popped up out of the woodwork, angry at him every once in a while for expected reasons. Prowl would say something abrasive, disgust him with his apathy, and he'd leave. Life went on.]
[He wasn't sure what to do with... this.]
I'll do what is necessary.
action
[The question is asked in a soft tone, Rung watching the other, studying any body language that he might give off.
There had been a time when Rung had respect for the other. They had never fully seen eye to eye on things but Prowl was good at what he did and had always been a model Autobot.
That bot was still there, Rung was sure of that. It was just a matter of finding him.]
Because desperation leads to an individual making rash calls and decisions. Causes them to become blind to the bigger picture because their focus is on the small picture that surrounds their goal.
action
[Whatever glimmer Prowl had just revealed would appear to be just that. As much ground as they made today, he wasn't about to spill everything. He still had his plan, and he wasn't about to compromise it for the sake of his own feelings. That meant no specifics. Nothing incriminating.]
[Still, he'd allowed some fatigue into his expression as he returned back to the desk.]
Rashness is one thing I'll never allow to leak into my thought process. Now, are we finished here?
action
For now though, he was willing to step back.]
We are.
[The therapist gave the other a small nod before he turned to go, only to pause when he reached the door, hand resting against it as he glanced back at the other bot.]
...None of us ever mean to make rash decisions, Prowl. Sometimes, it just happens. Even the most logical of individuals can fall victim to that natural sort of reaction when placed in situations that require a 'fight for survival' sort of mentality.
I just hope you realize that before you lose yourself completely or lose something that is truly important to you.
[And with that, he'll take his leave.]
action
[As the door closes behind him, a hand wanders back to the datapad he had been using earlier to continue going over his investigation.]
[The work came as a welcome distraction for him. It's much simpler to focus on something attainable than attempting to deconstruct his own emotions.]
