Going into the fray is a very questionable method for a learning experience. I'm surprised to see that everyone who went came out alive, more or less.

How exactly would you have gone about learning more of a situation in a dangerous area? Assuming you had to and couldn't just choose not to.

That is hardly fair. But if I was to learn more about it, I would try asking about it first. Heading into the danger is a last resort for a protocol droid.

Which is why the protocol droid wasn't invited.

We have asked, See-Threepio. Multiple times. All we've really been told is, "they're bad, stay away from them", but also "they are a constant threat and its monsters will try to take us over." Having failed in merely asking, I don't see what else we could have done but prepare as best we could and then go out to learn for ourselves as much as possible. The only other alternative is to sit here on our afts and wait for the unknown threat to come to us and then hope we can scramble together enough of the right kinds of defenses to defend ourselves . . . and noncombatants like you. We've been taken unawares before and attacked in force.

It wasn't pretty. We managed to overcome the threat that time, after considerable effort. Without preparation, we might not next time.

Is a place that's under Unicron's influence and it's filled dangerous creatures. It's better not to approach it at all.
