Fortune shines on us friends! Several of us have been talking about the need for a Rec Center and Bar, a place for everyone to gather, meet up and socialize. It appears the Lambda has, well, gifted us with an extraordinary bit of definitely-NOT-junk which we should be able to use as building materials! [He's not quite sure what this "lumber" stuff is, but it seems like it might be useful?]

I think you know more about construction that anyone here right? Can you help us out with telling us what we should focus on grabbing to make this happen?

Hey, I know you're laid up mech, and we only briefly talked about drawing up blueprints for this idea, but are there any special materials that you think I should look for?

Hey look, weren't we just talking about this!? I can't believe it! Can you help coordinate any other volunteers we get for gathering and cataloging whatever materials McCrane and Soundwave say we need?

I...uh I don't think this is a good idea.

[Because he remembers...Teddie.]

It came up at the party with Blurr... then I started thinking about it again when Soundwave found all that food and those games...

What...no? [He deflates a little. And, maybe for a second there's a pouty lip.]

But... [And then he's hopefully cheerful again. He'll sell you on this great idea if it...well whatever.] We could make a place safe for all the humans too. With a central place to store their food.

Oh. [Drift being jealous? Maybe.]

Because. Uh. Teddie. Has plans. If we have a bar.

[Wingbear. Seriously. Wing. WINGBEAR.]

[He shakes his head.] Tactically bad. If we store anything in only one location, and it's lost, the humans have no food at all.

Unless you're building a fortress, not a...game rec room bar whatever thing _{with probably dancing}. [He's not sure he caught all of that.]

[He hates that he's objecting, but a) Wingbear b) it needs to be done right.]

[Okay, that's...kinda of cute.] Mcaddams's Oil House came up, do you remember it?

Plans? Really him too? Like what? [Oh gosh he's excited. It's tangible and he might get it on you if you get close.]

[Suddenly some of that enthusiasm is redirected into puzzlement, then determination.] You're right! About the stores of human food. So there should be a secondary store, and only what's needed daily keep at the rec center.

But think about it, I bet the humans would love a place to serve their food in a way closer to what they are used to! Nothing is properly sized for them.

From the outside. [He snorts.] They didn't let my kind in there. [That was for mechs with money, like Blurr.]

His plan. To, uh, get everyone to [Wow it was so easy to tease Wheeljack about this but he can't even say the word to Wing without squirming in embarrassment] to 'score'.

I thought they'd love any food not in a can. [To listen to Vandal, at any rate.]

[A hiss through his vents as realization hits him; in his excitement, he'd forgotten. His hands cover his mouth a moment as he cringes.]

_{Oh no...I--I'm SOoooory!} [But then that determination comes back and he stabs a finger your way.] Well this one will be better! And you will be more than welcome!

[A slightly odd look as you explain, then a gentle cough as he composes himself.] Well, it's not that bad a goal right? I mean it's kind of sweet at the spark of it. And besides I don't think we really need that kind of hel--[Suddenly he stops short and his eyes go wide, realizing his words got away from him.]

[Here, have a suddenly flustered laugh. DRIFT, why are you the only one that can do this to him?]

[He clears his vocalizer roughly.] Sorry, uh, what else were you saying?

Yeah, don't worry about it.

[He shakes his head, a sharp, impatient. Because it's hard to take Wing's apology as anything other than condescending.]

It's...private. It should be private. And...respectful.

[As much as he'd joked with Wheeljack, that had been exactly that: a joke. With Wing, he didn't want it to be some drunk hook up.]

Never mind. It's not important.

[He's been more than a little drunk on excitement over this windfall, but that doesn't fully excuse any insensitivity. He's not sure how to reoffer the apology without making the same mistake again, so he simply vows to make it up to you. Wing can't give you Crystal City anymore, so he'll just have to make this a utopia instead.]

You're right. Private. [He draws an awkward breath, dropping his gaze.] Forgive me. _{I meant no disrespect.}

No. Don't apologize. Please. There's nothing--the only thing that's wrong here is my past. [Which has always been the problem.]

It's why...why I want everything to be perfect. [Back home, here, and with you.] And it seems I keep messing that up. [His own gaze drops, awkwardly, to his feet.]

I can still try to do things better. It matters to me. You matter.

[A wry vent of air, not quite a laugh, followed by a quiet admission.] Honestly I've thought the same about myself more than once recently.

But perfection doesn't come immediately, it takes time and practice to get it right. [And then there's a slightly coy grin that says he'd be happy to start practicing; any undertaking, and venue, any position, any time you'd like.]

[Drift feels bad about his flare of temper. It shows that the past still hurts. And he wants--for many reasons--to be over that.]

It's no big deal. [Please, go back to being giddy/happy again, Wing. The fact he's quashed that happiness from you aches.]

I think I'm going to need a lot of practice.

[Please smile, Wing. Please. ]

[If Drift doesn't want to make much of it that's understandable. Trying to do better, to help keep that in the past, is something Wing can do on his own, for his part at least.]

[That coy grin has to stretch into a hopeful smile at those words, because where there's a will, there's a way.]

Me too. We can do it, together. [Really. Anytime. All the time. Try, try again. Until it feels so right hurts.]

[Some of the tension leaves his shoulders at Wing's smile. He hasn't ruined things. He hopes. He's not afraid of much, save driving Wing away. ]

I'd like to try. [And there he is, standing, feeling like a child again.]

[Drift, you will have to try a lot harder if you're going to ruin this. _{Mind you, that's not a suggestion!}]

I do too. More than you know. [A ripple of emotion over his face.] But I'd like to show you.

So far I talked to Barricade Soundwave and Wing but others might like to help us build the building MIGHT I ASK why do you think is a bad idea? [He's really curious, all opinions are welcome.]
