I know it's no excuse [actually, it kind of is], but what I said - what I did - I did not mean. I... My drone has been damaged. I don't know what's wrong, or how to fix it, but I might have punched it while I was... under the influence. Perhaps one of you may know how to repair it?

I'm all for getting rid of it, or at least containing it, but... We need more data.

Do you think we have the time... or the equipment for that? I don't doubt the knowledge and minds of the scientists present, but all the expertise in the world won't help if the circumstances don't allow for it.

I don't know. There's this human expression, or so I've heard: we're between a rock and a hard [Space? Doesn't really sound--oh!] place. But out of the two choices we have, understanding the Pillar at least a little is better than going in blind and waving and firing our guns in the air. You have to rely on patience, skill, and data in order to deactivate a bomb. And we're on a giant ticking one.

But the people who went to the Pillar - surely they've gathered something?

True. And I haven't heard that saying, but it seems apt enough.

[She chuckles before sobering up again, frowning thoughtfully.]

So far? Touching it is inadvisable, and while I haven't seen anyone mention it, attacking it would probably lead to some response... but it might be the lesser of two unpleasant options.

I've also seen something about that the pillar extends down into the core, and it apparently... is taken energy from it, or dumping its own into it.

[He sighs] I don't think I'll be much help. I'm afraid if I got close enough to the Pillar, I'd revert back into that horrible personality. And after what I did... I don't want to take that risk. Not if it endangers more lives.

[Have an amused snort Ambulon, partly because of the phrase, partly because she could see her Magnus say it.]

And ah, no, that's certainly understandable and I don't think anyone would fault you for not getting close to it. But approaching it as a group makes it less of a risk that it might pull anyone, so if nothing else it will perhaps be a bit safer when we try to take care of it, simply because we'll know to be in a group.

I'm more for it if you go as a group. However, if, say, Megatron and his wounded pride were to go alone...

[He pauses]

Are you planning on joining any expeditions?

... Yes, I don't think that would be a good idea at all, but it seems like he was distracted from that, so hopefully it won't be an issue.

[Elita shakes her helm, optics narrowing a little.]

At current, no. I was planning though, and I would still like to, but it might be a good idea to keep an optic on the pillar from the surface as well, so when the expedition leaves, I'll go out into the junk pile.

Good. [sigh] I find this Megatron to be more rational and likely to compromise and listen. The one from my universe was insufferably... not.

Good thinking. You just... be safe, all right? Your mind is a lot more sound than a few of the blokes here.

That does seem to be a... theme, because that could be said of the one from mine as well, though I've hardly dealt with him directly. I've heard quite a few stories, however.

I try, at least, though I admit I can sometimes get ahead of myself. But don't worry, Am, I will. Most probably nothing will happen, but you never know.

Well, there's also the Megatron from that inverted reality. Apparently Decepticons are the good guys. [smirk] At least he seems trustworthy - even more so than the Megatron we're talking about.

And, yes. Please do. As I said, I'm sure, I'd go with you, but... Probably not a good idea.

Well, if it is true, that everything is opposite from how we normally know it, he ought to be trustworthy, compared to any of the other Megatrons.

[She grins a bit dryly at that, but given that so far there's been no proof that he's lying, the simplest, most expedient thing is cautious acceptance of it as fact.]

And I'll do that then. [Another little lopsided smile, not dry this time.] At least it'll give me someone pleasant to talk to while waiting if nothing happens.

I'd still remain a bit apprehensive, however. I've seen good mechs like that inverted Megatron break to pieces under the right amount of pressure.

[smirks] Of course. And if you're injured and need help, immediately call for a doctor. I can't be the one to pick you up, but I'll be there--despite the clinic--when you get there. So, basically, hopefully I won't be seeing you for a while or at least not on a MARB.

Maybe. But if Optimus Prime has lasted as long as he has, I don't doubt somebody like an opposite reality version of Megatron ought to be able of the same feat.

[Chuckling, Elita nods on her end, seen or not.] If I was injured, I'd put it in your capable hands to get me a transport. But since I am going to keep distance to the Pillar, I doubt injuries will happen, so don't worry.
