Again, that's what everyone tells me. [pause] ...I dunno, maybe I'm just paranoid; living with what amounts to a bunch of sociopaths for over a decade'll do that to you. But... I just can't quite trust this whole set up.

I'm used to having something obvious to fight; Heartless, the Organization, some other random monster. Here? We've got a bunch of giant robot demi-gods telling us 'this is how things are'and we're expected to just accept that. Things seem to point that way, and all, but... you can't say they don't have something to gain by us being stuck here too.

I mean, when you get right down to it... we're kinda in the dark here. All we have is their word that they've got our best interests in mind. And that's... not quite enough for me, I guess.

[Axel shrugs. He really has no actual evidence to base his suspicions on... but he's still not inclined to blindly trust the First Forged.]

Well... It's true that there's a lot we don't know. But it isn't like no one's been trying, either.

That's what makes it frustrating though...the threat has a name, but there's nothing direct that we can do about it. Whatever happens by Unicron's influence is as random as when others are brought here. The Glyphless months ago, and then lately, that Pillar...

That's enough for me to see that there's something bad out there, and if there's anything I can do to keep everyone safe and to help this world, then I will.

Yeah. The whole thing just bugs me.

We've really got no choice but to stay in the First Forged's good books, though, I guess, so what we think is kind of a moot point. When you come right down to it, they're in control here, and we're just along for the ride.

[And that, likely is why he can't bring himself to trust them. He's been on both sides of too many betrayals to trust anyone who holds that kind of power over another not to abuse it when it suits their purposes.]

But yeah. I'm not exactly the heroic type, but even I can tell that this 'Unicron' is bad news. And given that we're stuck here, it's in our best interests to protect the place, if we can.

[Axel shrugs. Whether the reasons are altruistic or pragmatic, it amounts to the same thing, in the end.]

Not just the Firstforged. Even they seem limited in what they can do, and even if they don't all agree with each other all the time, they do all want the best for their world. We just happen to be stuck in it.

[Still, Axel's following words give him a little relief to know that they're generally on the same page. Ventus nods.]

I guess. Though they're definitely more up on what's going on than we're ever likely to be.

And you really gotta wonder about a couple of 'em, ya know? Like that Liege Maximo guy. I mean, I'm all for not judging a book by it's cover and all that, but seriously, the guy just comes off as creepy. That, and he's named Liege Maximo which sounds like a comic book super villain, or something.

Really? I haven't talked to him....although come to think of it, I think he's the one Alpha Trion mentioned was trying to make a ship to try getting past the Lambda.

It's been a really long time since I asked about ships though. Lots of stuff came up in between...

Honestly? I haven't either, but poking around his temple a bit has thoroughly removed any desire to actually do so. Place reminds me a little too much of The Castle That Never Was for comfort and his acolytes tend to creep on anybody that comes to visit.

Though yeah, stuff like giant ominous pillars, I imagine. Not sure if I should be glad I missed out on most of that or not.

The only temples I've ever been around the most are Prima's and Alpha Trion's. I'm kind of curious about the other places though. They all look so different from each other.

Yeaah.... Well, if you're not sure, I'm definitely glad you missed it. And that you showed up with a Glyph.

I visited all of them, myself. Given that I can only open Dark Corridors to places I've actually been around here, I wanted to be sure to have a quick way to get around, in case of emergencies.

Yeah. Kinda forget the thing is there, half the time, since it's usually covered up by my coat. Then other times I can feel it glowing, which is the weirdest sensation.

Oh, I see. [He nods.] That would come in handy. It would sure cut down on travel times, at least.

[He glances at his arm (the non-shadowy ones) where his own glyph is just visible beneath the edge of a sleeve.]

Yeah, it is kinda weird, but I guess I've mostly gotten used to it? It still kind of weirds me out when it changes though.

Yeah. Saves a lot of trouble getting around this place, since there's not many places around here to go that aren't here or the temples.

[The bit about the glyphs changing prompts a raised eyebrow from Axel, though.]

Changes? How?

[Ventus pulls up his sleeve to show his own glyph; Prima's mark in white but edged in magenta, save that it's slightly larger now, bright and bearing a slight glow to it.]

Every so often they change a little. It depends on what you do I, think. If something draws a Firstforged's attention, then your glyph reflects it. The closer you are to a Firstforged, the more access you're given to a power they can use.

Hmm...

[Axel looks at Ventus' magenta-edged glyph.]

Maybe that's why my ability to form Dark Corridors hasn't been working quite right since I got here; I've never really done anything to catch Megatronus' attention. Or any of the others, really.

[And he doesn't really intend to either, at the moment, though he can't help being intrigued by the idea.]

What sort of powers does Megatronus have, do you know?

Could be...or maybe it's just this place in general?

[He shakes his had a little.]

Not really. I haven't heard too much about him, except that he and Prima seem to be opposite each other when it comes to things.

Maybe.

And unless I'm mistaken, Prima seems to have a lot to do with light. Which probably means that Megatronus deals with darkness. Heh... figures I'd end up with him then; Nobodies might might be rejected by both realms, but we were always closer to the Darkness.

That's right... I guess if the giant beam of light coming from his temple isn't enough of a hint.

I guess that makes sense.

Yeah, that is pretty obvious, as hints go.

Wonder what it means about what they're like personally, if anything... You ever actually met any of them?

You mean like in person? I've only spoke to Prima and Alpha Trion through the Link. Usually they seem pretty busy with other things.

[Axel nods.]

Makes sense, I guess. Gotta be a lot of work, running a world. Especially a world like this one.

Just hope Prima and Megatronus don't wind up having the same problems as Light and Darkness do back home, or that could be a Very Bad Thing, especially for guys like us.

....yeah, me too. But I think all the Firstforged generally work with each other, and at the very least, they're united against Unicron.

Having a common enemy or a common goal has never stopped people from fighting each other before. The Organization is proof enough of that.

But yeah, hopefully you're right. Or at least, if they do decide to go at it, hopefully they leave us well out of it.

Given how we're kind of already pulled into things as it is, I wonder if staying out of any business between them would be possible.

Yeah, I have a feeling that if they started seriously trying to kill each other, our best bet would be to find someplace sturdy to hide.

I meant more that I hope they don't expect us to pick sides or anything, if something like that happens, you know? They wanna fight each other, they can damn well do it themselves.

I hope they don't... [For both the Firstforgeds' sakes as well as their own.]

...I wouldn't want to get caught between anything against them either. So long as they all are concerned about the same thing as we are, I'll help in keeping this place safe. But if it comes to blows between the Firstforged themselves, my concerns will be with the rest of us that were brought here.

Exactly. Don't mind helping keep things running and protecting the place, but if they're looking for us to start fighting for them, specifically, they've got another thing coming.
