Another year, then. I suppose... that's a good thing. To have lived so long.
[He looks down at the box.]
Someone gathered these, once before. I thought to use them again. In celebration. For surviving another year.
Maybe it isn't much to most of you, but... it means a great deal to me.
That's all, I think.
[And he clicks the feed off.]
[HOWEVER ... if you want to come set off fireworks with him, he'll stay at the lake for the rest of the night.]
[Additionally, close CR will be getting these as New Years Gifts. Come get them in person, or handwave it!]

[He likes this, in his own way...and while he is not one to show affection easily, himself, Kagerou will find McCrane staying close, letting their shoulders continue to brush.]
Fireworks?
I hadn't considered.
[He reaches up almost absent-mindedly, touching the hand that is on his shoulder.]
Kagerou. What else did you always want to do? Would you tell me?
I think we should try and mark some items off the list.

[Because they can be erased or altered. Can't they? Unlike those living robots around them.]
[This is oddly comfortable. And familiar -- just leaning against someone. He doesn't protest. Or pull away. He stays where he is, enjoying it.]

[But he doesn't sound angry -- not anymore. It's just a fact, one of the few he's actually accepted.]
[He blinks, at the touch, turning his head to look at the other.]
Live. Mostly. I... didn't think much beyond that. I wanted to survive. To fly in the sky. See New Years fireworks...
Feel rain, wind. It sounds foolish, but. I saw it a few times... and I always wondered.

[Now, Kagerou was one of them. McCrane has no doubt...and he is so proud of the other brave police for proving his initial feelings right.]
You've already done a few. It is a shame that it does not rain here, although...
[He pauses, remembering soemthing.]
Kagerou, have you ever had a bath?
[Wait.]
I mean, have you ever visited Prima's crystal pools? It is not rain, but there are some small waterfalls...

[He's honestly a little embarrassed to admit to all this. His wings mantle up, flicking as if irritated, but the look on his face is more sheepish than anything.]
[Then he blinks. Several times.]
I... yes? Kay made me.
[McCrane are you calling him dirty.]
Oh -- No. I haven't. [Another beat.] Waterfalls? What are those like...?
[Action]
[McCrane clearly has the element of pacifism.]
Waterfalls are like...a lot of rain at once. I could show them to you?
[He watches the way your wings twitch, wondering himself what it would be like to fly through the rain. At the moment, the best he can hope to do is retreive lost basketballs off of rooptops in the rain.]

[Since he can figure out who the other two options refer to, easily enough. He tilts his head.]
I would like that. I think.
[They settle down, quickly enough, folding smoothly against his back.]
You wanted to go now?
[Action]
[No one has ever asked him. It has him off-guard.]
I...enjoy improving my skills, and honing my tactical abilities, and visiting the shooting range.
[He is all work, why did you ask.]
However. I think...I think my AI is also happy when I am being spontaneous.
[He spends so much time planning, that he has come to like being interrupted and taken on an adventure. It was his favorite thing about Gunmax.]
Not now, no.
[Gunmax reminds him, and he reaches for another firework.]
When we are done. It can wash off the soot.

When you're working? That's all? [His head tilts the other way, thoughtful.] Spontaneous. Like now?
[He quiets, watching McCrane. After a pause, he bends, and holds out another firecracker to him. There's a tiny, almost invisible flicker of a smile.]
