This isn't quite how I thought I would be returning to Cybertron. Then again, I didn't think that I would find myself being pulled from one universe to the next like another I know of either.

[ and he'd like to be able to figure out how it is possible, but he can save that for another time. ]

Now I'm sure that those who are listening to this are likely tired of answering the same questions over and over again. I apologize that I have to ask said questions. Any mech who would offer more answers than what I have just received would have my gratitude and I would strive to return the favor.

That might be putting it mildly - personally I don't see much reason for it.

[ drawing attention to oneself that is. Starscream will gladly fly under the radar. being ON a certain Prime's radar is what destroyed his beloved city, after all. ]

Hmm. I can hold it for a few seconds, but if only because I have not really had the time to try longer.

[ it's hard to find recreational time protecting a planet and all. ]

[Thundercracker could relate to the not-much-time… for him, it had been not being allowed while having to follow orders to help /destroy/ a planet. Or two.]

Hmn. Well, that's one advantage to this place. Time is about all you have here. No agenda if you don't want one. No one to order you to anything you don't want to do. Hmn…you probably didn't have much of that to deal with.

[He knows that Megatron never ordered /him/ to anything. He never really gave the Seeker any orders at all, just support for anything /he/ wanted to do. Which was . . . novel, to say the least.]

[ don't mind him, TC. he's only flying beside the other jet at the moment. ]

I take it that such things are a novelty for you?

[ he doesn't know, really. CJ hasn't spoken much of his own dimension. nothing for Starscream to assume or otherwise. ]

While no, Megatron is not a dictator with his orders, we still had a mission to accomplish. I've found it's much easier following than it is leading.

[He doesn't mind at all. Actually, it's been far too long since he's had someone to fly with. Even Megatron –the white one, Starscream's Megatron ~~in his mind, he always has to separate "the white one" from the one who is far closer to "his own" Megatron, too uncomfortably so~~ - usually seemed too busy to go flying with him, and he could never work up the "gall" to ask anyway.]

[He only barely squelches a low snort of wry amusement at the last part, managing instead simply- ]

I would guess you'd think so, yeah. Megatron used to tell me a little about you. Well, about all of his mechs, but some especially, and you were one of those. And since I know you and Cliffjumper know each other from before, I know you're aware that you're from a reality pretty much reverse from the rest of us…?

[His engine sputters softly in a sort of sigh.]

A novelty. Yeah. For me, the war's been going on far longer than yours, and if you can imagine what things are probably like for the Autobots in your world operating under Optimus Prime's rigid dictatorship, especially the higher-ranking officers . . . I'd figure it's much the same as where I came from.

[And he'll…just…leave it at that. He won't bother mentioning the multitude of abuses…]

((ooc: I could be wrong –correct me if I am? - but I seem to remember the war in Shattered is still relatively newish? Maybe a few hundred years? G1's war has been going on for, like, millions. >,> And I headcanon that TC's been in it since pretty much the beginning, or close to it. That's why he said that.))

(( ooc: definitely newer... not sure how new though... highly doubt that all of the energon stores could have been drained in a few hundred years, but definitely it hasn't been as long as in G1. ))

[ Starscream listens... the tone that the other carries when speaking sort of saddens him. he doesn't want to think about what life must be like under someone who is a tyrant. if his Megatron had been a kind, decent mech... the mirror of that makes his engine sputter in a shutter. ]

I am sorry, Thundercracker. No one should have to live under the thumb of anyone. No one deserves to constantly be afraid.

[ freedom is a right that all deserve. ]

The punishments that Prime can come up with are cruel. Sending his officers or underlings off to Ratchet is not what I would wish on even them. Both are unstable, true...

I don't understand it. At all.

[rough snort]

Don't try. You'll just hurt yourself. Trust me, you're better off not knowing. I'd leave it at that.

[a pause...then quieter]

That Ratchet's here, by the way. In case you haven't already been told. He arrived a few weeks ago. We've already arrested him once, but he slipped out. We're hunting him again before he causes any more damage.

[ it's just really a shame. so many good mechs lost to that madness. or maybe there is madness in them all. that is the true chilling thought. ]

Ratchet made a point of letting me know he is here. I wish I could say it surprises me that he has escaped. Hopefully he is detained before he can do something.

[If he were to ask Thundercracker, the Seeker would guess at a madness already being there. That's certainly true for far too high a percentage of his own faction. Though whoever didn't start out with some kind of psychosis almost certainly developed one after the fact, another thing he'd witnessed about his faction.]

[Through absolutely no fault of their own, though, the police force's track record has become questionable at best and a laugh at worst to the rest of Haven, a fact that galls the proud Seeker to no end. But…he can only do his best.]

Do you have a place to stay yet?

[ who is 'we' TC? Starscream might be a little suspicious about this... and he might want in on it. after all, Ratchet is from his dimension. Starscream sort of feels responsible for the things that he is likely going to do. ]

Staying? I thought we stayed in our temples.

[ he has a place picked out, close to his friend. ]

The police force. Inasmuch as we have one. Prowl and McCrane are the heads. [He wobbles his wings faintly, a gesture of reluctance.] If you talk to anyone, talk to McCrane. Or Blurr. They're good mechs, and capable. [He won't outright say he doesn't trust Prowl, but . . . he doesn't trust Prowl.]

You can. Don't have to, though. About as many do as don't. Those with friends in other temples might choose to room with them. Or there's the Habitation Wing of the Hub if you want more neutral territory.

[ Starscream doesn't miss it, the lack of talking to Prowl, if he has interest that is. Starscream has mixed feelings on it. instead of showing his uncertainly, he does a few lazy rolls. ]

Cliffjumper and I share the same temple. I had thought to just stay there.

[ why shouldn't he? they had been working together for a while. friends, man. ]

I see. Seems like a good mech.

[Except for the part where he doesn't really want much to do with the positive-polarity Decepticon. Not that Thundercracker can blame him. ~~At least the minibot hadn't outright snarled him off like some of the others.~~]

[Also, don't mind TC. He's had, and lost, two separate roommates now. He's been staying a lot at the precinct lately just to keep himself occupied so he's not ~~lonely~~ bored.]

If you need anything, or just want someone to fly with, let me know. [amused] Minibot's got a jet pack or whatever it is, but he's no Seeker. [Mnn, bad wording for the negative-polarity mech.] Not a jet-former.

I believe he is, though a tad frightening as well. A bit paranoid, too, but I can safely say that we would have been lost without his presence amongst us.

[ the minibot has been a good friend too, keeping Starscream on task and the like. very valuable. and really he's selected his own quarters close by in the temple, so he can keep an eye on Cliffjumper... or so that Cliffjumper can feel better. either or.

and Starscream? even he sounds amused. ]

I wouldn't mind having a flying partner.

[ no, really. he doesn't exactly have those, you know. ]
