And before someone suggests 'I'm bitter because I'm alone', it's actually quite the opposite. Alone makes for undisputed homemaking.

No one to tell you 'the desk needs to be oak' or 'that linoleum flooring isn't progressive'.

At least you aren't stuffing your faces with chocolate. Who knows, were you, the whole planet might exceed the system's gravitational field, and fly off into the cold, quiet unknown.

Just saying.

I still don't completely understand the point of this Valentine's thing. I suppose humans just need an excuse to give and receive gifts once in a while. At least their Christmas had some sort of religious connotations.

It does, the feast celebrating a saint in the Anglican church.

Of course, you know that capitalism wouldn't miss a beat, and thoroughly marketed it towards the human emotion as well as moral obligation.
