Something is telling me I'm not in Kansas anymore. And this doesn't look anything like Oz.

So anyone want to fill me in? I mean these Acolytes, they're alright but really, it's kinda weird talking to someone that towers over you like they do. [A faint wry laugh at that. It's not funny but he's going to try.] Though really, pretty impressive there's robots quite as tall as that, not an every day sight. At least where I come from, guess it's not so odd around here, huh?

Speaking of filling, if anyone can let me know where I can get some water? I'd be much obliged.

[ She narrows her eyes slightly, before singling out a usb. That's just precious. ]

I thought you said you were steam powered.

[ No matter. Nuclear fission had to be going on somewhere. ]

More than equipped. Practically built around. Perhaps I'll tell you sometime.

[ Seperating the cable and plugging it into the wall (the wall? strangely enough) She offers him the other end. Wirelessly, she controls the room. ]

All yours. I'll give you your own directory and everything.

You'd be surprised at the workplace similarities we have, let me tell you.

[ Is she watching? Hell yes she is. Recording, even. She wouldn't stare, no, that's rude. But she'll watch. It makes her wrong her hands, how much she wanted to take and test, but no, she couldn't. Not yet. Wirelessly she creates his directory and stores what she can there. It takes all manner of self control from probing in and taking whatever else she wanted. ]

Oh please, as if they read anything.

We picked through test subjects without exceptional reading skills for that very reason. We didn't need them running off when the going got tough. Good, disposable rats are hard to come by.

Scientists though... Well, they could read all the laws of artificial intelligence and I'd still be here and self aware.

[ She remarks rather bitterly, sifting through the deposited data with little remorse. ]

[ She pauses, completely ending the topic of conversation. In her mind, the echo of 'Of course, Mr. Johnson!' is squashed. Nope. She had too much new technology at her actual fingertips at stake. ]

Unaltered physiology. So this isn't uncommon.

[ She sounds distracted, looking silently into her own recordings. The actual hell kept this man ticking!? She had to know---but without turning the ticker off. ]

Are you sure? You could invite the whole enrichment center.

Then send them back for testing.

[ That was a joke, ahaha. ]

Oh no. It's my pleasure.

[ SHE IS DEFINITELY GOING THROUGH ALL OF THOSE. ALL OF THEM. BACKGROUND PROCESSING, FOR THE WIN. ]

No, not at all. I begin gathering parts. After all. Might need one tomorrow, might need it never.

Failing to plan is planning to fail, after all.

[ oh she's planning alright. Oh, it occurs to her she hasn't used her prototypes yet. A shame. They must not be adjusted to her will protocols yet. An error she'd have to fix. ]

Indeed. Aperture Science Enrichment Center.

I used to be the central operating system, in charge of organizing data and running test sequences.

I do miss it. Quiet. But that's what happens when you run out of subjects.

Thankfully, I have my own now, built specifically for the purpose, but. I am here. And they are there.
