Something is telling me I'm not in Kansas anymore. And this doesn't look anything like Oz.
So anyone want to fill me in? I mean these Acolytes, they're alright but really, it's kinda weird talking to someone that towers over you like they do. [A faint wry laugh at that. It's not funny but he's going to try.] Though really, pretty impressive there's robots quite as tall as that, not an every day sight. At least where I come from, guess it's not so odd around here, huh?
Speaking of filling, if anyone can let me know where I can get some water? I'd be much obliged.

I thought you said you were steam powered.
[ No matter. Nuclear fission had to be going on somewhere. ]
More than equipped. Practically built around. Perhaps I'll tell you sometime.
[ Seperating the cable and plugging it into the wall (the wall? strangely enough) She offers him the other end. Wirelessly, she controls the room. ]
All yours. I'll give you your own directory and everything.
[action]
[The Ice Caves.]
Thank you kindly. [It's... not entirely unlike how he controls things back home in the Hall of Wires to be honest. Kind of homey.
Removing his wig, he uses one hand to slide open panelling at the back of his head, where the neck and head meet. Well, that looked like a hard drive, nothing odd there. But the rest of the space visible was taken up by glowing blue crystalline structures. The usb port seemed to just have been seated into that, the crystal just having grown around to assimilate it. Easy enough to plug in, the vertebrae protruding from his back shifting out a half inch before moving to their regular position one after the other.]
Shouldn't take too long.
[And yes GLaDOS, that blue crystal is radioactive as hell.]
Re: [action]
[ Is she watching? Hell yes she is. Recording, even. She wouldn't stare, no, that's rude. But she'll watch. It makes her wrong her hands, how much she wanted to take and test, but no, she couldn't. Not yet. Wirelessly she creates his directory and stores what she can there. It takes all manner of self control from probing in and taking whatever else she wanted. ]
[action]
Someone was just as meticulous with their work as they were with their appearance it seemed.]
Really, you'd be surprised how flustered people get over it. It's not like there's not interviews and evaluations before they get to that point. It's all right there in contract, the fine print is even 8 point font so there's no missing anything.
[action] and out comes the crazy.
We picked through test subjects without exceptional reading skills for that very reason. We didn't need them running off when the going got tough. Good, disposable rats are hard to come by.
Scientists though... Well, they could read all the laws of artificial intelligence and I'd still be here and self aware.
[ She remarks rather bitterly, sifting through the deposited data with little remorse. ]
[Action] Oh my god his frame of reference is entirely warped XD
The scientists we've got aren't too bad either! You get your bad eggs, but they never seem to make it through the interview process.
[His nephew's cat eats them, but really The Spine doesn't know that.
Really it's debatable if said nephew knows either, he's always up to his non-existant eyeballs in science and inventing.
When he finishes with the download, he starts a self diagnostic. He knows he's in as good a working order as he can be, so all the data that's to be included in the directory shows how things should be running in optimal conditions. Always handy to have on hand when trying to figure out what's gone wrong!]
[action]
Unaltered physiology. So this isn't uncommon.
[ She sounds distracted, looking silently into her own recordings. The actual hell kept this man ticking!? She had to know---but without turning the ticker off. ]
[action]
[His attention is drawn slightly by the internal report of a finished diagnostic. He made sure to leave a copy of the completed report into the directory before he was backing out of it. Carefully unplugging the usb cable and offering it back to GLaDOS, his other hand closing up the open paneling.]
I do appreciate you doing this for me.
[action]
Then send them back for testing.
[ That was a joke, ahaha. ]
Oh no. It's my pleasure.
[ SHE IS DEFINITELY GOING THROUGH ALL OF THOSE. ALL OF THEM. BACKGROUND PROCESSING, FOR THE WIN. ]
[action]
[HEY DAT'S RUDE. Not that he realizes because whoops someone is trusting.]
Well still, thank you GLaDOS. A visual documentation of everything in it's place should make sure that we've got everything needed. Not as useful as blueprints but with your skill I can't see that being a problem.
[action]
Failing to plan is planning to fail, after all.
[ oh she's planning alright. Oh, it occurs to her she hasn't used her prototypes yet. A shame. They must not be adjusted to her will protocols yet. An error she'd have to fix. ]
Indeed. Aperture Science Enrichment Center.
I used to be the central operating system, in charge of organizing data and running test sequences.
I do miss it. Quiet. But that's what happens when you run out of subjects.
Thankfully, I have my own now, built specifically for the purpose, but. I am here. And they are there.
[action]
Don't think there's an Aperture Science where I'm from though, sorry to say.
[No idea about her plans none at all.]
