[The video feed, when it clicks on, is a bit chaotic, the picture jerking about roughly. What landscape that can be discerned in the image, however, seems to be near the border of the badlands. Something large, mechanical, and sharp suddenly slashes into the frame and then back out again, like a weapon being thrust toward the camera.]
AAhhhhh! Cease and desist at once, you arachnid annoyance!
[Perceptor briefly flails into view for a moment, looking a bit flustered, before he ducks out of view again under another swipe of that weapon. Or rather, not a weapon, as the view shifts wildly to pan across a massive robotic spider with very large fangs lowered threateningly toward the camera.]
[As the view swings wildly again, there are muffled thuds and thumps and the thick clang of metal against metal that seem to hint at an epic struggle. Perceptor looks much more harried when he bounces into view again.]
I, ah, seem to have stumbled into a bit of an inconvenience... wherever this location is. If anyone is nearby, assistance would be greatly appreciated!
[There is an odd, almost liquid sound that splatters into the feed, and a sudden yelp from Perceptor as a stream of thick, greyish goop blasts past his head.]
As soon as possible?

...Is that Airachnid?
I, ah, am not certain. [He has to pause here to dodge an attack. Badly dodge, actually, but he manages not to get skewered.] The area appears to be abandoned and filled with detritus and-- aagh! [He dodges again, and his locator beacon pops up onto the network about now.] --And inimical lifeforms.
An arachnid of some sort, yes! [The leg that swipes into view briefly, however, is a bit too thick and nasty looking to be Airrachnid. Plus, he seems to have misheard the name there, Korra. Or, at least it isn't ringing any proverbial bells with him. Even if his proverbial bell is about to get very badly rung.]
It seems quite angry, however! Please, maintain your distance; it is far too dangerous for a human to interfere!
[Yes. He went there. He'll apologize later.]
[video-->action? how does this work? loosely play mult. action threads and handwave?]
Then thinking more, she stops Naga, tries to get her settled and calm, then bends a wave of earth to take her and Naga across the land. The idea is to try reading the earth's vibrations to find this guy and his spider problem.]
[video--> voice-->action? wasn't quite sure, myself. sounds good to me, though!]
[And then the feed goes dark as spider spit covers the camera. Have some indistinct sounds of flailing and a few yelps of surprise there, Korra.]
action
All right, girl, get ready to jump!
[They do. Korra unsecures Naga and they both leap, Korra bending a wall of earth to block the spider thing's next attack, Naga landing behind the wall and in front of the large newcomer. Korra lands on the wall, and calls down]
You okay, Bigshot?
[action] perhaps combine with the drift thread above after this?
I believe I shall survive!
[He still can't see her, since he hasn't quite managed to get his optics cleared yet, but she sounds as if she is speaking from very high up, especially for a human.]
Are you?
sounds good
[action] on second thought, keep threads separate. Korra gets her own spider to kill then!
Fascinating!
[Oh. There is still a giant spider thing to fight here, and it's just taken a swat at him with two forward legs. He ducks and dodges to one side, forcibly reining in his curiosity.]
[For the moment. You know, while there is a giant spider thing to fight, and a human here now to protect. Suddenly, Perceptor recalls that he actually has a weapon, and he pulls his concussion blaster from subspace.]
Beware the discharge! I am not certain what this substance may do to organic tissues!
[He tries to keep himself between Korra and the monster, but has to dip and dodge often to avoid the flailing legs and occassional splatters of grey goop that he'd just warned her about.]
Re: [action] on second thought, keep threads separate. Korra gets her own spider to kill then!
Naga, get back!
[The polarbeardog complies, and Korra bends an earth ramp to slide back down to her dog. Then she reforms the earth into a protective shield while she waits for the guy to shoot. Still, she lights up another fire in her hand and keeps an eye out, just in case.]
[action]
[Perceptor has never seen Bending, has never even had the concept hinted to him, and so, the moment that the ground under Korra's feet begins to shift, he can only assume that it is some unexpected attack of the monster. Somehow. He starts to turn to try and offer her soe assistance, remembers the spide, and pauses, undecided for the moment it takes for Korra to reach Naga again. That's when he actually sees the movements Korra performs, and how they seem to influence the ground to move for her.]
How are you--
[He takes a spider leg to the head for his distraction, and goes tumbling down with a startled shout.]
Re: [action]
[Korra leaps from her rock cover and blasts another wave of fire toward the spider thing.
Then she bends a wall of earth to stop the newcomer's fall.
She bends the earth again, dropping it out from under the spider thing, trying to bury it.]
[action]
[The spider grabs the edge of the sudden hole under it with a couple of it's front legs, preventing it from tumbling away completely, but it's clearly losing ground against gravity, if the scrabling noises are anything to judge by.]
Are you capable of forcing the hole to close around and over it once again?
[Perceptor shoots his blaster at where those legs are bracing the spider, knocking them loose. There's a loud hissing shriek of anger as the spider begins to slide down the hole.]
Re: [action]
[And Korra quickly bent the earth close around and over the spider thing as it slid after the guy had blasted its legs. Naga gave an encouraging bark.]
[action]
Remarkable! How is it that you are capable of manipulating the matter around you in such a way?
[He scratches absently at a patch of spider-spit as he crouches down beside her, staring at her with bald fascination.]
Re: [action]
Where I'm from, we call that kinda manipulation 'bending.' [She frowned.] I go through martial movements to bend the earth, but I never thought about...how that works exactly, or where bending comes from.
