[video] And then there's this loser

[Some people, upon discovering they'd been magically uprooted from wherever they were and mysteriously transported to a weird almost-but-not-quite Cybertron against their will, would probably be angry. At the very least they might be annoyed, maybe a little frustrated or panicked. This guy seems to be the exception. He looks a bit puzzled, sure, but he also looks MAYBE a little too calm and cheerful for someone in his position.

Oh, the video's recording! Excellent. He claps his hands together in that 'let's get down to business' sort of way.]

Oookay, from what I understand so far, it's probably safe to assume that you're all pretty used to confused new people popping up from time to time. I think I'm caught up on the basics, so I hope to avoid the whole panicking stage. Actually, everything I've heard so far is pretty fascinating. Just, you know, a little jarring. I have a few theories, but... well, I'll save them for when I have a better idea of what to expect here. The Acolyte I spoke to didn't give me too much information to work with. Well wait... okay, that's not true. I mean, it was pretty informative over all, but there isn't really a whole lot I can do with what they told me other than accept it. I don't like to complain, but it wasn't really all that helpful in a day-to-day life sort of sense.

So! Um. Anyway, my name is Drift. If anyone happens to have any helpful tips for a new arrival, I'd love to hear them. And... I think that's all I've got! Thanks for your time.

Mmm... yeah. Different colored energon that had different effects on people exposed to it. Yellow caused irrational fear. White made you either invisible or indestructable. Brown made you sick. And red, like I got hit with, made you pass through all solid objects except for the ground. Including people, which is exactly as weird a sensation as you might imagine.

There were a couple other colors too; pink, black, green, and I think orange, though don't quote me on that last one.

Yeah. I don't blame you. Fortunately, it's all worn off by now. Though those who were a bit luckier found out what I did, namely that exposure to a certain other color of energon reversed the effects of the first.

Hmm... Well, when I first got here, there was this giant pillar of rock that had come down from the Lambda; you can still see what's left of it sticking out of the Junkpile.

But it was one of those few things that was potentially lethal and had to be taken out. Apparently, it went all the way to the core and was sucking the life out of the planet, or something. In the short term though, it apparently temporarily replaced certain people with alternate versions of themselves, among other weird effects. And that's not even counting the weird effects it had on the team that finally took it out.

Far as anyone knows, yep. Which, while it definitely causes problems, is kinda a good thing for us non-robots since that's where a good chunk of our food comes from. I mean, we do have a place where we grow some vegetables and stuff, but some of us might've starved by now, if the Lambda didn't provide.

As for what effects it had, well... They ranged from 'weird, but harmless', like my friend Ventus suddenly sprouting tentacles that looked like they were made of Darkness, to the 'definitely not harmless'. Like one guy- who I won't name- getting stuck in some kind of crazy hell-dimension for several days.

So yes. In short, be very glad the Pillar's not around any more.

Yeah. I think we can all be glad that particular mess is over.

Aside from big things like those, though, there's all the lesser but still weird things that come from a bunch of people from different dimensions being thrown together suddenly. Not to mention the weirdness you get from magic and technology being thrown together. Always something going on, really, even if it isn't obvious.

[Axel shrugs.]

It's worked out relatively well so far? At least, nobody who's not naturally a crazy psychopath has really tried to kill anyone. Megatron did beat up the non-friendly Starscream awhile back, but to be fair, he was really asking for it, and did his own fair share of damage before the gold stuff wore off.

[Axel didn't get close enough to watch that fight personally, but Ventus had and had given him the basic rundown of events.]

I know. Doesn't seem to have much in the way of common sense, does he?

And I dunno what it was, but it made him look like he'd gold-plated himself all over. And until it wore off about halfway through the fight, nothing seemed to be able to hurt him.

He certainly is that. Except when under the influence of yellow energon. Then he's just paranoid about flying pirahnacons.

Me either. Though it seems like it'd be pretty damn useful to have on hand, even if it did wear off after awhile.

If I'd been more solid, I'd have saved a video of it, but alas...

And yeah, definitely would be a good idea to make sure that stuff stayed in safe hands. Though that'd be easier if we knew where he'd gotten it in the first place.

Yeah, I guess. Just hope he didn't have any more of it in reserve to cause trouble with later.

My name's Axel, by the way. Got it memorized?

[Axel smirks.]

Even bigger when you only come up to most people's knees, at best.

But yeah, I'm sure you'll find something to do. With this bunch around, things are rarely quiet for too long.

Tends to vary from day to day whether it's good or not. But yeah, 'wait and see' tends to be a good approach.

Anyway, I'll shut up now and let you go get settled in. Have a good one.

[A brief pause just in case Drift wants to say something in farewell, then Axel cuts the feed.]
