I have learned a few things from the ah... acolytes within this temple, but I have more questions for those who have been brought here.

It's physics, actually. Well, at least a part of physics. The multiverse theory was previously thought to be impossible to prove, as it is impossible to get to any other universe from our own, but some how, this universe has managed to do it.

Besides talking to people and collecting information.

By observing it in the natural world. Unfortunately, up until now there was no way to prove the reality of alternate universes, as, up until now it was considered impossible to leave your own universe.

If I can figure out how exactly we came to be here, it would confirm countless theories.
