[Hello Haven. Have a familiar face for at least some of you. Wing has left the temple. It's clear he's got a lot on his mind; this city, what the Acolytes told him, that he's even alive, is a lot to take in. He decides to start with what he knows he'll need.]

Hello. If anyone could tell me of a decent place to stay, I'd really appreciate it.

[He's such a good actor that you totally don't see the hurt in his optics that'll DENY UP AND DOWN is there. Too many memories of sunrise flights with the at-the-time only other flier in Haven.]

As for where to live, there's a place at the center of Haven called The Hub. You might like it.

["You should! It was only your idea to begin with, and you were instrumental in getting it built. You even took the chance and hired a Decepticon for a bouncer in the bar." . . . no, he won't say any of that.]

[he keeps that friendly smile on his face.]

I've heard there's a bar there...perhaps we could meet up for drinks? I could ask you some more about the city? [perhaps get to know a mech who seems to already know him...?]

[He hesitates an instant - is that really an offer?...Pit, he hopes this goes well.]

There is. I work there as a bouncer when I'm not busy with patrol rounds or whatever with the police force. And . . . yeah, I'd like that. Ping me when you've settled in? Or...whenever you'd like.

Thank you. I really appreciate your help.

[He really is looking forward to this meeting. It's been a long time since he's met new people until Drift, and that wasn't exactly a friendly meeting. He's looking forward to making a new friend.]

[He finally relaxes a little, even allows a faint grin as he nods.]

You're welcome. I look forward to hearing from you again.

[He nods, grinning.] If nothing else I'll be there to find a room soon.

There are plenty, so that should be fine.

[He nods.] Sounds good. I'll see you later. [and if there's nothing else he'll cut the feed.]

[And it'll be a long while before Wing shows up at the Hub. He'll ping TC to let the Seeker know he's at the bar.] Thundercracker? If you're available I'm at the bar. Don't feel you need to drop what you're doing to meet me now, though, we can meet up whenever you're free. [he did mention patrols and working at the bar.]

Wing. I'm free now. I'll head over.

[And indeed he does. He pauses in the doorway when he gets there, partly just to locate the mech and...partly to brace himself. He wants this to go well. He's really missed this mech - one of his first friends in Haven. One of his first real friends . . . since the beginning of the war. Finally, he crosses to where Wing is sitting, offering a hand. Wing may or may not much notice that while the Seeker's optics are crimson, he's not sporting the Decepticon brand. Or...any brand.]

Good to see you.

[Wing stands to meet TC, a big grin on his face as he accepts the mech's hand without hesitation. And he does note the lack of brands, but isn't going to say anything.]

Good to see you too. [he shifts and motions to the seat by where he was sitting.] Have a seat?

[He sits, awkward and uncertain.]

You have some more questions about the city?

[He chuckles.]

I have a lot of questions about this place...but I also have a lot to process first I think. I think I'll save most of my questions for a little while down the line.

Can I get you a drink?

[If Wing feels awkward or uncertain at all he hides it well, seemingly at ease and relaxed with the Seeker, as though the mech was an old friend. He guessed technically he probably was, just that Wing couldn't remember that.]

[Wing's making an effort. The least Thundercracker can do is try to do the same. He shakes his head with a small grin.]

I'd say yes, but we don't use currency here. No point.

[He'll wave a server drone over.]

Huh, well that would make it hard then, wouldn't it?

[He is making an effort. Thundercracker seems like a good mech, and Wing would like to get to know him. He doesn't want things to be awkward, though, so he's just trying to keep the atmosphere relaxed.]

[The server drone comes over and takes their orders, letting them know what's available –it depends on what's been scrounged from the Junkpile as well as what's been…brewed, or whatever the Cybertronian equivalent is. That done, Thundercracker turns back to Wing.]

So . . . what would you like to know?

[What did he want to know? What didn't he want to know? He had so many questions about this place, the First Forged, why they were here... What he ended up asking was...]

What do you think of this place?

[TC thinks about that for a moment, gaze on the table surface.]

This place has its issues. Some people accept it, some hate it. It's . . . what you make of it, I guess. For some, it's a second chance.

[Wing nods, a little grin on his face.] A second chance. I think I'd be one of those. What about you?

[Thundercracker goes still for a moment, debating how to answer that, how much to reveal . . . but he trusted Wing before to a degree he never really got to let the mech know, and if this one is ANYTHING like the other self . . . and besides, not like it's a /secret/. After a moment, he vents a cycle of air.]

Back home, I was a Decepticon. Even here, though I didn't have to live the way I had been for so long. In fact, I finally made the move to have my brands erased just a few weeks ago.

Some people want to go home, and they'll work hard at finding a way. I . . . don't.

[His gaze remains locked on his folded hands on the table. Suddenly, he's hoping the drinks get there VERY soon - he needs something to interrupt this conversation however briefly...or at least interrupt his mind.]

[Wing smiles] If anyone here ever gives you troubles over that decision, I'll have your back.

[He doesn't need to know you well to support you, TC, and he very much approves of your choice.]

[And look! Drinks are here. Wing murmurs a thank you to the server drone, and passes TC his drink.]

[TC's head comes back up at that . . . and his optics dim faintly, his frame losing some of its tension. He's had others say that –and mean it just as much –and yet he'll never NOT be surprised or deeply appreciate hearing it. He nods.]

Thank you, Wing. That means a lot to me. Even though I know you . . . don't really know me. I appreciate it.

[The drinks arrive and he accepts his with a soft thank-you.]

[Wing smiles] I don't need to know you well to already see that you're a good mech. [and he gives TC a wry grin.] Or that you are at least striving to be, and that's the same thing.

[That gets a rueful smirk.]

Striving, I suppose. Been far too long since I could really be considered a "good" mech.

Anyway . . . you know that you've been here before, or a very close alternate of you. The latter, maybe, since you don't remember. Anyway, you - he - was a very good mech. And . . . and a good friend. I am who I am now, as opposed to who I was when I first arrived, partly thanks to him.

[Wing hopes to be as good a friend to you now as this other him was.]

If he and I were really the same, then he would tell you that you have no one to credit for your changes but yourself. Perhaps you found inspiration and support from him, but you made your own choices.

Yeah . . . that sounds like something he'd say.

[He studies Wing for a moment, then quietly.]

I don't know if it means much to you or not, but…for what it's worth…I've missed you, Wing.
