[Hello Haven.  Have a familiar face for at least some of you.  Wing has left the temple.  It's clear he's got a lot on his mind; this city, what the Acolytes told him, that he's even alive, is a lot to take in.  He decides to start with what he knows he'll need.]

Hello.  If anyone could tell me of a decent place to stay, I'd really appreciate it.

I could ask why, but if it is in the same shape as the Cybertron I had to leave for a while, then I suppose it's understandable. Frankly, I had been trying to build what you would perhaps call a 'space bridge' to get us back.

[knight_light]

I...honestly don't know what shape the Cybertron I came from is in anymore. We left it so long ago taking what we could of the culture and history. We've kept it safe, away from the war. All we really knew is that the war continued, and so it wasn't time to reveal ourselves yet. [there's...a note in his voice that says there was a very slight disagreement over that last portion.]

That's... That wasn't even an option for us.

[ meaning he doesn't know how to take that. just up and LEAVING leaving in the middle of a struggle... Starscream understands people not taking sides in a faction, but leaving the PLANET? ]

[knight_light]

It was the only option we had. We didn't want to take sides at that time, but as things got worse we were looking at being forced to. And then there were those who couldn't fight. They'd have just ended up killed. We left before either faction could make a move to really stop us, or force us to join one side or the other.

[loyalflier]

[ he'd love to point out how noble it is to leave for the sake of keeping others safe but... leaving... Starscream believes in keeping their wars contained. that's also their responsibility. living away from it is also turning a blind eye to the fall out. something like that hurts to thinking about.

but thankfully he keeps his expression schooled. ]

[Those two words say more than the lack of expression.] You don't agree. I can't say there weren't times I disagreed too. It never settled well with me to be hiding, not out doing something to help...

[A shrug] Choices were made, we did the best we could at the time.

[loyalflier]

I am not sure if I do or do not. It's understandable to preserve what one can. Losing ages and lives to war is... [ his wings give a bit of a twitch. ] Not a day goes by where the memory of being forced to watch my home burn doesn't haunt me.

However... Beings like your Megatron and my Optimus Prime are never satisfied with the destruction and consumption of just one world. They must have it all. The thought of other innocent races suffering as well as my own people at the hands of people like that is what gives me reason to fight. Is preserving culture worth allowing mass destruction to continue and infect other worlds? This is what unsettles me about the decision, but it is not my place to judge.

[knight_light]

[Wing frowns, and then shakes his head.] It wasn't like that when we left. The war stayed rather close to home, it was a fight for equality and freedom from a corrupt government. Once things started changing we were already well away and settled in our new home. I'd not even seen another Cybertronian outside of those who came with us to Crystal City until Drift crashed there.

[loyalflier]

Had you known what direction it would take, would that have effected your decision at all?

[knight_light]

I would still have left, helped get the refugees settled, but I would have left to help others where I could, even if the Circle would have disagreed. helping those in need is the greatest thing anyone can aspire to. I'd have done what I could had I known.

[loyalflier]

[ good answer. whatever tension Starscream had been holding ebbs away. ]

What is your Forged, Wing?

[knight_light]

[He sees that, and is glad he seems to have made a friend.]

For--oh! You mean the glyph? [he just got here, he's not used to this stuff yet.] Vector Prime, I was told. [Shifts to show the gold glyph on his shoulder.]

[loyalflier]

Ah, I was wondering given your statement.

[ Starscream shifts, showing his own. ]

Drift, Cliffjumper, Blurr, and myself all have the same one.

[knight_light]

[smiles] I'll consider that a good sign, then. [As you and Blurr seem like good mechs, and he doesn't mind being identified with them at all.]

[loyalflier]

I should hope so. Drift seems decent and I know Blurr and Cliff are nothing short of noble.

[ they're good friends too. ]

[knight_light]

[There is a HIGHLY amused look on his face at the comment of Drift.] Drift is a decent mech. I knew him before coming here. [AND HE'S SO DIFFERENT, IT'S SO STRANGE AND WONDERFUL!]

You might have mentioned him.

[ which is perfectly fine! ]

He also mentioned your Crystal City. I... My home was Crystal City.

[knight_light]

[a pause.] We modeled it after the original. Crystal City was lost early in the war, and one of the reason we knew we had to get any noncombatants away from the war before it destroyed them.

[loyalflier]

Does it shine as brightly as the original?

[knight_light]

Yes...as the one from my Cybertron anyway. [Yeah, so strange to think that still...]

[loyalflier]

I apologize... I just miss it, I suppose.

[knight_light]

[He shakes his head] You have no reason to apologize, and every right to miss it. I can share images of the city, if you'd like. You can tell me how similar it is or isn't to the one your knew.

That's awfully kind of you, Wing.

[knight_light]

[little shrug.] It would be nice to share what has been my home with another.

[loyalflier]

I wish I could share something in return.
