[As busy as Rapunzel has been keeping herself, she has noticed the recent sadness and upset over the comms. Maybe she could do a little something to help, something to brighten up these bleak times. Ironically, the one thing that has been keeping her occupied is what she's going to offer.]
I know a lot of you have found your friends missing these past few days, and I'm so sorry for your losses. It really isn't much, but I do have something that might make coping a little less bitter. I, um... I've been working on collecting and mixing paints and finding painting tools. And well, I think I have plenty now, and I kind of already promised a portrait for someone, so that got me thinking... it might be nice if I offer to paint things for anyone and everyone. So um, here's my offer!
[She flips her comm around to show off the rather large collage of paintings on the wall of her temple room; there are numerous interlocking individual pictures, mostly of plants, animals, and the few people she knew back on Earth. The paintings aren't completely unlike what she had painted inside her tower.]
If you like my style at all, just tell me where and what to paint, and I'll go paint it. If you're good at describing things or have other pictures, I can paint those whom you've lost, so that they don't seem so far away. As fair warning, I haven't had any practice painting robots yet, but I'll definitely give it my best shot. But it doesn't even have to be portraits; I can paint just about anything that makes you happy.
...I don't know how much it will help, but it seems like the least I can do.

It's sweet of you to try cheer everyone up like that.

I can't do a whole lot that's useful to anyone but humans, but painting... it seems like something anyone could enjoy. And if I can help those saddened by the losses, even if just for a moment, it will be worth it.

Simple things help more than you might think. If I describe someone to you or I show you a picture, could you do a drawing? Or that's too complicated?
no subject
Buuut I can make do with a description, too; you'll just have to point out anything I misinterpret.
no subject
I have photographs of them in my datapad.
no subject
And that would be really helpful! Now all I need to know is where you want it painted.

OhIaminnorush!
What would you like in return?
no subject
...But um, are you sure about that? [It's a light tease aimed as his speedy speech.]
Hm... I can't really think of anything in particular. Maybe if you stumble something that could be used to make paint --like colored pebbles or shells or anything like that-- you could bring it to me?
no subject
That I can do! I'll see what we have in the storage of the Habitation wing.

Hai, I'm Ravage, btw!
[And he gives you a friendly wave.]

I'm pretty sure that's pronounced "the".

Your work is beautiful, Rapunzel.
I didn't know anyone who left, but I would love to have a painting from you. No rush, whenever you've fulfilled request from anyone else but...would you be willing to do the walls of my room like you've done yours?
[And if Drift doesn't like it? ...well, tough. He thinks her work is lovely.]

[It's so nice to have her work praised. Especially considering Mother never really seemed to be as passionate about her paintings as Rapunzel was.]
And of course! I'd be more than happy to do that.
Did you have any particular designs in mind?
no subject
Well...there is one thing, but the rest you can surprise me with. There's a beautiful city, where I'm from, that I'd love to see painted in your lovely style. Aside from that, anything you wish. Everything you've done there is gorgeous.

[When you have nothing better to do than paint for 18 years, you get good at it.]
I can think of a few spots around the precinct that could probably stand some brightening, if you'd like.
And I'd be happy to do that! Is there anything specific you want me to paint?
And no, I can't really think of anything, but I will let you know if that changes.
Alright. Until you do, I suppose I can plan on painting as many cheery things as possible. If you or anyone else is in there all day, it might help keep things from getting a little dull.
[a low chuckle]
The Decker Room could definitely use cheering up.
[Especially with McCrane getting more and more scarce these days. If he's . . . n-not gone already . . . Deckard's not really letting himself think about that.]
[It's an honest question, given how similar sounding the names are.]
Ah, n-no. Not exactly. More like my name and the room's come from the same source.
In the langu- . . . in my native language - [Really, just easier to put it that way than try to explain it as the language of the people who programmed him which makes it "primary", never mind that he's programmed with several.] - the word for detective is "dekka". We are robot detectives, my team and I, and I was the first one designed and built. So I was named "Deckard". Back home, our primary work space was dubbed the "Decker Room" for the same reason, it was to be used by the "dekka" or detectives.
When the police precinct was built, I wasn't here yet, but my teammate McCrane and a few others decided to model the bullpen – our primary office space – off the one back home. So it got dubbed the "Decker Room" too.

[ pausing... considering. ]
How long did it take you to do all of that and where did you learn to do it?
no subject
And it's kind of a hobby I've been doing all my life; I don't remember a time when I didn't paint. So I guess the best answer is... as soon as I could make sense of of applying paint to a surface.

I can't really help out with my other skills, not to everyone, anyway; I mean, robots don't need pottery or clothes or candles, and baking is kind of out of the question altogether. So painting is literally the best I can offer to do. I just hope that it can cheer someone up.
You sound like you do a lot of making things. Maybe you can help me figure out something?
And sure! I'd be more than happy to. What do you need help with?
One sec-
[And he'll dig around in his pocket for his Wayfinder, holding it up to the Link.]
I've been wanting to make something like this for my friends. ...some of them are robots though, so they'd have to be a lot bigger, obviously. I've looked around the Junk Pile for things to use, but I'm not all that sure about how to put things together.
[She pauses from her awe for a moment to ponder.]
If you have the means and will, I'll find a way. I think the hardest part will be the metal outline of those petal shapes, but if we can figure out a manageable way to replicate it, then the rest should be pretty easy!
You think so? Well, we don't have to make it look exactly like this, but so long as it looks close enough, I think it'll work.
