[Thundercracker is crouched down on a knee out on the edges of Haven.  The ground around him is littered with warped, twisted bits of metal and plastic.  He has a piece pinched between his fingers, turning it this way and that.  Letters of...some language or other can be made out across one scorched face of it.]

Well . . . whatever it was, it's completely unrecognizable now.  The language looks like it might be Russian though...

[Don't ask him how he knows that.  He has no idea.  He STILL hasn't consciously learned about the gift from Alpha Trion, oops!]

[A moaning sound comes in from his left.  Grimacing in distaste, he merely shifts to raise an arm, firing his shoulder rifle a few times.  Wet splorts of something organic being blasted apart can be heard.  At least it stops the moaning?]

Brought something with it, though.  Lots of somethings.  Things that I'd guess died on impact . . . but didn't stay dead.  If I had to make a guess, I'd say they were human.  Or were at one time.

What the-?

[A heat haze surrounding a fiery glow drifts into view from behind the camera, heading for Thundercracker.  He's shifting stances into something he can better react/defend from as it closes on him.  The video feed of the camera goes staticky as the heat haze increases, the glowing heart of the anomaly turning into a ball of fire that quickly fills the camera's view.  There's a SNARL of pain from the Seeker before the video feed cuts out.]

Let me see that thing better, I can tell you if it is Russian. [He's been on Earth, he checked. Oh interesting gift.] Or rather it it isn't.

They have a particular alphabet that's easy to remember because it looks like glyphs and ....ah. Thundercracker!? Are you still alive?

[It'll take a long moment, but the video finally comes back, if staticky from damage to his Link device.  He's badly scorched and…is that /blood/ splattered across his face and shoulders?  Still he looks more annoyed –and grossed out –than distressed from injury.]

  Yeah, doc.  Takes more than that.  Word of advice, though –shooting whatever that was destroys it easily enough . . . but the damned thing exploded like some bloated organic corpse.

Ugh. You look like you had a hell of an encounter. Can you still drag your sorry aft to the medbay or I need to go there and pick you up?

I'm fine. [Except…you know…for the fire damage.] Just have a decontamination bath ready for me, will you? I don't want to know what seams this disgusting gore has seeped into.

That I can do. [Knock Out makes a face. He would have scrunched his nose in disgust if he had one.] are there more of those around?

[He shifts to look around, then shakes his head.]

Not that I can see. Doesn't mean more aren't out there past visual.

Anyway . . . on my way in.

[He gives an ETA that likely tells KO he's flying in root mode, not jet - he REALLY doesn't want to transform and risk getting /more/ slag in his system.s]

[Knock Out's camera is moving with him as he goes to set the decontamination bath for when the seeker shows up.]

If you ask me, the Police force doesn't pay you enough. [Does he get paid at all???]

[That gets a raucous, snorting laugh.]

Pay?

[It's okay, though . . . he's used to not being paid. He's not seen anything beyond energon rations and half-afted repairs since the start of the war.]

Mn, gives me something to do. Besides, I've never been good at staying safe. Guess I like the challenge.

Staying safe, though, that's a plus for me.
