[The feed that opens is staticky, coming as it is from the outer edges of the network's range, and bears a face that should be familiar to many. Upon closer inspection though, one might notice this Wing is a little rougher around the edges compared to recent newer arrivals. His glyph too, is a brilliant Vectorian gold edged with a strong violet glow. A touch of concern marks Wing's face as he looks right and left before speaking into the feed. The jet is clearly wary of his surroundings.]

Haveners! It's been quite a long time. I wish happier news brought me to this, but alas, the recent disruption of the Lamdba affects us all.

[Behind Wing, over his shoulder, there's a stealthy, disturbingly flesh colored shape slithering down the slope on all fours.]

We hope--

[There's a flash of steel and white and red behind the jet: Drift doing what he does best, which is, apparently, slicing things into sushi, the two--the whatever-it-is and Drift--disappearing offscreen in a grunting flail.]

[The sound of combat rings out off screen, grabbing Wing's attention. The feed is jostled as he almost ends it--clearly Wing is tempted to join the fray--but he seems to change his mind at the last moment.]

Please. Please be wary if you leave the Haven. The wastelands is strewn with foreign debris and creatures stranger than ever roam the land!

[Yeah, and on that note... Drift appears--victorious, of course--holding what appears to be a severed head--actually two, one a smaller, almost vestigial one like a goiter from the neck of the main one--into the camera's range. ]

Anyone else running into these , for example?

[He debates a long moment before finally turning on the video feed. How strange it is to face...himself.]

I assume a welcome back is in order. I must say, this certainly confirms a few suspicions I've had since arriving.

[Primus, he wonders what Kagerou will think of this...and...Drift, um...the other one...]

[Excuse him as he peers into his comm, trying to figure out if that's a reflection on the screen and the light's playing tricks on him or if Wing's talking to himself.]

[After living on this world for a while you get used to strange things. Meeting yourself though, that's shockingly new!]

Er, rather, yes, a welcome back would be appropriate. Among...a few other things perhaps...?

[Like why he has a doppleganger and Primus tell him that's not Unicon's doing? Also wow, does his voice really sound like that!?!]

Well, apparently some time after the two of you left, another Drift arrived here, and shortly after that I arrived. [There, hopefully his alternate won't be so shocked to find another Drift flailing over this later...maybe he can find his roommate and warn him before he sees the video...maybe.]

I have to admit, it bothered me that I'd apparently forgotten this place and the people here. I wondered if perhaps there was another... [shrugs] "me" out there. Seems that is the case.

[And yes, that is what your voice sounds like...apparently. Primus this is so strange.]

[By the Five he hopes so.]

W-wait... You mean to say. There's another Drift here as well? [Well that's. Hmm. Interesting. It's like they were meant to be together regardless. What are the odds? The idea makes him smile a secret little smile. Oh Other!Wing, just you wait!]

Forgotten it? Oh! But of course the other Haveners thought you were me. [A soft chuckle] Terribly sorry for that confusion. I can see how it'd be reassuring to know those memories weren't actually yours.

[Your voice? Our voice? Oh dear this is getting quite existential.]

[He nods at the first.] There is. I'm sure he'll be responding soon. [wry amusement all over his face at that.]

Certainly not something for you to apologize for. [Aaaand, have a mirrored chuckle there...that cuts a little short, because wow, that was weird.] Er, it is reassuring, though. It's quite disconcerting being told you've forgotten a place and people so unforgettable.

Something to look forward to then, dare I say.

[How is more Drift not a good thing? Except his is a handful sometimes, so maybe Wing should rethink that. Actually...he should probably not be thinking too deeply about the possibilities of more Drift and--AHEM, yes, moving on.]

Sympathy where it's needed though. [He grants it, every time.] I feel I have a lot of people to catch up with. I...hope they are all still around. Many of them are, yes, quite unforgettable.

[Oh there he goes, getting a little sentimental.]

Yes, I'm sure they'll be...rather entertaining. [Or everything could go really horribly, but he's ever the optimist so entertaining is what comes to mind.]

I'm sure you do. I'm know a few, at least, are here and have missed you. [Him...guh. He's loved making friends with your friends, Other Wing.] I couldn't say for sure that all you once knew are still here, but a few at least. They'll be happy to see you.

One could hope. [And even if not, with two Wings, certainly it could be smoothed over readily enough? He has had his share of arguments with Drift, some of them pretty intense, spark wrentching even, but it only ever served to make them stronger.]

That's good to hear. [They were his new flock. With no more Crystal City, he'd taken to bonding with new people, watching over and caring for them. It's what made losing people to the Badlands so very hard. And leaving, even harder.] I'll have to seek them all out when I return to Haven proper. After making sure all is safe enough of course. How are things for you there?

[And that was the difference in how long the other Wing and Drift had known each other. These two haven't had any chances to get into arguments. It would happen, eventually, but hadn't yet.]

You certainly should.

Things have been well for me. I've only been here a very short time, but I've gotten settled in, have joined the build crew, and volunteered to help the local law enforcement when half the force disappeared within a few day of each other. [That was a sad time. He didn't know those who'd left, but others did, and it made his spark ache to see people so upset.]

Half the force! [There's plenty there of note, but that part strikes him cold.] McCrane? Blurr? Thundercracker?

[He worked so closely with all of them while he was on the Law Committee. He knows people here get lost, it's part of the way this place works, but it never stops hurting. And in truth, he'd rather consider himself dead than stop feeling the acrid pang of grief at the loss of a friend.]

[Sad nod.] Thundercracker and Blurr are here. If McCrane is I've not yet met him.

He's one of the Brave Police. He led the force, with Blurr and Ultra Magnus.

[Wing grows somber for a moment.]

He was the first person I met when here. After waking up in the Junk Pile.

[Someone doesn't have Wing's couth to actually have the mental debate before turning on the video feed.]

[Sorry, Drift, he can't help but be mildly amused ~~and rather weirded out~~ by this.]

[He laughs] No, more likely an alternate.

You may find yourself talking to...yourself here soon too. [Sorry, he just can't leave that as a shock. It's bad enough he'a having trouble tracking down his roommate to warn the Drift who's been here the last few months.]

[Is this a thing? Alternates? Does it mean he and Wing weren't good enough or had made the wrong choice?]

[Then again, it's hard to have a worse one!]

[Really, he doesn't think it has anything to do with who good or not you two were.]

Well, I mean, weird stuff's happened here before, but, you know, not this that I remember.

[He got turned into a little anime girl once. He...doesn't like to talk about it. But it was weird.]

Oh. Wow. That must have been...I bet he was glad to see you, though.

[Drift was. Well, with his Wing and frag this is confusing!]

I've not been here long, but I'm not sure anything would surprise me too much, especially not after this.

[He smiles] He was.

Mind if I ask where the two of you have been? I was told something about seeking to start a new settlement somewhere? [He's curious if that was successful.]

Yeah, this place has...uh, things. That are weird.

[He's thinking of the time Liege Maximo had him and Perceptor go capture gross Badlands spiders and milk their venom. W...weird. ]

Us? Oh. We've been out in the wastelands. You know, just us and nature. Freedom. That kind of thing.

[Wing could explain it better. But if this is Wing and he knows Drift, he should not expect much better in 'coherent storytelling'.]

[And to be honest, this is his first "big" happening, he's not really seen anything truly weird until now. But you know Wing, he not only rolls with the punches, he manages to dance out of the way and make it look easy.]

[Nope, that's about what he expected. If he wanted a coherent story he'd have asked his other self.]

It sounds like it's been a good thing for you, then. I'm glad.

[He could make it look a little less easy maybe, so at least Drift doesn't feel like a waddling hippo around him?]

It has. Me and Wing and Barricade and a few others. It wasn't easy, but then again, it isn't easy here.
