[Four isn't sure why, but the longer he spends away from home, the harder it is to sleep. Memories of his family, both dead and alive, haunt him until sleeping becomes a near impossibility. He misses them all, though in some weird way he misses the Scientists the most. What would he think of Four's adventures here in a strange world?]
Have you ever missed someone so much that it hurts inside when you think of them? What if this person was someone you have only met once, yet is more a part of you than anyone can hope to be? My home is a sad place, and my family is sad too, but I miss them a lot. I am not used to being alone.
Love and loss are a part of humanity I suppose.
My purpose is to catalogue and eventually understand humanity, and I feel as if the more loss I feel, the closer I come to it, as strange as that is. I am a long way from understanding it however.... so I ask:
What is humanity to you?
What does it mean to love and lose someone?
What is it like to hate?
[Four makes sure not to specify anything in his questions, he wants to see what his answers are.]

[He doesn't hesitate in the slightest for that.]
It is because of them that we keep moving on.
[Text]
If you do not mind my asking.
[Locked Audio]
...
It is complicated...
Someone back home. Who...has probably passed on.
[Locked Text]
You don't know?
[Locked Audio]
[There's another sigh.]
I cannot see him being spared, with his attitude.
[Locked Text]
I hope he's okay.
Maybe he lived?
[Audio]
[He barely could handle Que's death.]
Loss is something I am familiar with.
[Text]
Sometimes it even feels like I've lost everything.
All I have left is me.
[Audio]
[There's a small bout of hesitation. He knows that feeling all too well.]
I agree. I have one...
[Ironhide is here, so he won't lie that he feels safer...but the older bot has made himself infamous.]
...but we are not overly close.
[Text]
There's no need to be sorry for me, I'm sure I'll survive somehow. It's part of my purpose after all.
[Audio]
[There's what seems to be a sigh.]
There was a 'Bot back home...Que. He was what the humans consider a...'grandfather' to me.
[By his tone...it's obvious it's a sensitive subject. So he'll concern himself with Four.]
You are rather courageous for such a little one.
[Text]
[There's a pause as Four tries to figure out what that means. Courageous? Him? Oh no, of all things he was, courageous isn't one of them.]
I'm not though.
I'm always afraid. Fear isn't courageous.
[Audio]
[Mirage wasn't always as calm and collected. He was quite the impatient bot when he arrived on Earth. And he still is to an extent.]
You shouldn't mistake Courage and Foolishness. Fear is what saves you from foolishness.
[A pause.]
You are talking to one like myself, that takes courage.
